hello, im looking to get the lap band but im still shopping a little for a good doctor, ive called a few places and the consultation are booked till next yr..is anyone on this site from montreal? id like to get fed back on some doctors from here..thanx

i was banded 8/12/2011 i have no cc in my band and i have lost 27-30 pounds depends on the days im sad that i havent been able to lose anymore weight since march! i think i might need a fill !! and gonna have to pay for it! since my dr doesnt seems to want to give me one!!

omgosh i think u dont have a high enough calories intake i take 1200 x day

starting weight was 248..day of surgery 243 after the diet i was 234..and now almost 2months later im at 221..it has slowed down..but its normal..we rnt on liquids anymore..i dont feel hungry but i get the urges..coz i know that i can still eat stuff and nothings gonna happen!! its a mind game u gotta play with urself!

WELL HERE IN MONTREAL ITS FREE!!!!!!! the gvt pays for it.. which is great...u just need to get on a waiting list.. i started my process in august and will b getting band next week..which i find amazing didnt have to wait at all..my other option was to get it done at a provate clinique which was asking me 16 000$ and i would get my band within a month..honestly things taste better when they r free!! some other floks i know decided to go 2 mexico paid 3000 $ but once they got back home and needed medical attention..concerning the lapband..no i mean NO doctor wanted to help them.. because it wasnt their business! so honestly...i if u look at the full ppicture. it aint worth it..u live in europe so its easier for u! anyways i think that everyone has a choice,what is worth something for u doesnt mean that its worth something for someone else..so dont judge and b happy with ur OWN decisions..

thats very quick to go back to work! u only had a few days??? do u have a sit down job??? i do and my doc gave me 2 weeks min 2 stay home!

for some reason that happens with us plus sizers.é once u get into the smaller sizes ull c even with just 10 pounds ull change dress size..so dont worry congrats on ur weight loss

hello my fellow PCOSers, im starting this thread becoz ive read many old threads about how you were in the process of getting band..or trying to get pregnant with PCOS"..I WAS just wondering what happened to you girls?? did u reach ur goal? did you end up having children?? have you had issues losing the weight..i have not been banded yet..and also have PCOS i am very afraid of not being capable of losing weight..im looking forward to some replies..

my dr.. doesnt give any pre-op diets..he basically wants you to change ur habits from day one that he sees u..he wont operate unless u sees u lost some weight on ur own and that u r trully serious..about what ur doing.. they want u to lose weight... i know of a dr that still operated a patient after months of waiting and the day of the operation the patient actually had gained like 20 pounds.and already had a high bmi.. the patient died!

my dr told me i would need to eat about 900-1000 calories a day and do about 10 000 steps a day for a good weight loss.. u said ur eating 1200 cals..did u try checking ur diet...example..if i ate a mcdonalds burger and starv for the rest of the day..ya i had my 1200 if not more..but i aint eating the right stuff..get what i mean??? do u excercise?? the dr also told me that after u finish ur weeks of liquids and u start with the solids.u lose slower..y dont u try doing a few days of liquids to boost urself!!!

i put myself on more then one hospitals waiting list.. i just waited 2 see which one would call me 1st..3 to 4 months isnt that bad of wait..there r some hospitals here that r actually making people wait a good 12 to 18 months but luckly i found a surgeon that only does that..i started in august and will b operated in dec which i dont find that bad..anyways good look and dont lose hope

coz its reversable..like everyone else says less invasive..u lose weight gradually so less possibility of regaining..ur skin doesnt go threw a shocker..ur u life doesnt change as drastically..

u can always get both done.. u can get the GB once u shead ur pounds u can get the lapband if ur afraid of gaining it back..!

if ur gonna buy stuff online..u can measure ur waist hip and so on..and then compare it to the store scale..see which size is the clothes to your mesurements...
