Great Tasting Shake!

Lol. Well if a product is good I don't really care if I get from GNC, Wal mart or a smaller company, and all of these products are amazing. -
Great Tasting Shake!
lyndynojo replied to lyndynojo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't count carbs at all and never have. -
I was told no straw for the first 3 months. I have used one everyday since with no problems.

I have told anyone who will listen about this surgery. Someone shared with me when she had it and that's how I really knew about it. I am so thankful that she did. Since my surgery I have 2 cousins and a good friend at church that have also had it in large part to my telling them about it.

For probably the first 6-8 months I didn't really try bread at all, it just didn't feel right. Now toasted bread is ok but I still can only eat maybe a fourth of a slice. I can do tiny bites of a roll. I can also do a tiny bit of cornbread. It just all fills me up so fast.

I eat anything I want, just can't eat much of it.

So here are some photos almost exactly 1 year apart. ( I hope I can get them on here LOL) The first is me before surgery and then about 8 weeks after. The other two were taken last week, 13 months post op.

LOL i didn't keep it all thankfully, I started in a size 44DDD (tight) bra and now I'm 36DD.
-
Thank y'all so much. I have to admit that at 51 years old things are not nearly as flabby and saggy as I thought they would be. LOL
-
I'm 13 months post op and I can drink exactly like I did before surgery.

Stomas, Pouches, Rny, Oh My!
lyndynojo replied to Izuri's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
We do NOT have pouches. We have fully functioning stomachs. Our stomachs function exactly like before they are just much, much smaller. If you google both procedures you can find diagrams of the stomach post op and see the difference. -
Crazy Vsg Questions
lyndynojo replied to DeterminedGirl's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This is exactly me!! The main reason I had the surgery was to maintain my weight loss and it has worked like a charm. The year before my surgery I went on a protein shake diet and lost 40 lbs then went off at Thanksgiving and by June I had gained almost all of it back. I had surgery in June and in Jan. began trying to just maintain my loss. Since Jan. I have eaten anything I want just in much smaller portions and I have not exercised one single time ( I know, I know) and I've not gained a pound back. I want to be able to eat like everyone else just normal portion sizes and maintain a normal weight and the surgery has done exactly that for me. Everyone is entitled to their own lifestyle and opinions, but if I wanted to and could give up sweets, fried foods and the like for the rest of my life I wouldn't have needed surgery. But that is my own experience. -
Post Op Pain Killer

I was sent home with liquid lortab but never had to take it. I've had 2 c-sections and an abdominal hysterectomy and the hysterectomy was much, much worse than the sleeve. -
Thank you so much. I got the dress at Burkes Outlet.

Thank you and I don't know how they are still there. lol I'm actually wanting them to go down another size or two but oh well. LOL

So last week we were on vacation with my son, daughter-in-law and two grandsons. One afternoon my daughter in law is showing me the pictures that she took that day at the beach and I looked at one and said " who is that holding the baby?" she looked at me like I had lost my mind and said "that's you!". what the heck!!! I didn't even recognise myself in a bathing suit looking thin! That felt GREAT!!!!!! I LOVE MY SLEEVE!!!!!!!

List Of Can/can't Eat Foods...
lyndynojo replied to Parker's Dad's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You do have to keep in mind that some things you won't be able to tolerate or even like at first but if you try them again in a few weeks you will do fine. For example I have never had any problem with chicken or steak but can just now at 1 yr eat hamburger meat without feeling like it is stuck. Each and every person is so very different. If you do have problems with a food just wait and try again later. I think most people go through a phase of lactose intolerance post op that seems to last for a few weeks/months and for some doesn't go away. Mine lasted for about 8 weeks and then everything got back to normal. Your taste will be off after surgery too just because that is what surgery, any surgery does sometimes. My daughter in law and a good friend had surgeries, one c-section and one had hip surgery, around the same time I had mine and we all had the same problems with things tasting really off. Stuff tasting sicky sweet, etc. I hiope this has helped. Good luck with your surgery. -
List Of Can/can't Eat Foods...
lyndynojo replied to Parker's Dad's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I do drink coke zero. Not very often but if I want one I get it and have no problem drinking it. Some people think it will stretch out your stomach but my surgeon said he took almost all of the stretchy part out and what I have left is fairly muscular and will never stretch out. My motto is all things in moderation. -

I am one year post op and I can eat anything with no problems. I eat exactly what my family does just in teeny tiny portions. -
I LOVE the shakes. I add the extra protein powder and get about 21 gr per shake and they are really really good. They have a little recipe book that tells how to mix them to make different flavors. As an example, the cookies and cream, 2 tablespoons rice crispies, 5 min. marshmallows, 2 tablespoons sugar free cheesecake pudding mix, ice and skim milk, mix in blender well = rice krispy treat shake and it tastes just like a rice krispy treat. I don't count carbs and never have just the calories and protein.

I was self pay and I didn't see one. I don't feel that I missed anything. My doctor gave me diet and vitamin instructions and now a yr out I just eat like everyone else just very small portions. I think it's totally up to you and what you feel comfortable with. Good luck.

Medical Alert Bracelets?
lyndynojo replied to Supersweetums's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The "no blind NG insertion" rule is because there is so little stomach that it can be punctured if an NG tube is inserted incorrectly. I also have no medicine restrictions. -

What Cant You Eat Now?
lyndynojo replied to JentryB2020's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I am a year out and there is nothing I can't eat now. I did have difficulty with few foods at first not making me sick just didn't feel right in my stomach. Now I eat anything I want just in small portions. If something doesn't set well with you just wait a few weeks and try it again, that's what I did anyway.
