I think it would take a long time. It took me a year to regain 10 lbs and that was eating lots of sweets and just crap. Before sleeve I would have gained 40-50 back in that time frame. I learned my lesson though, I've lost 11 lbs this month and am going to lose an extra 15 just for insurance. lol

I am 21 mo post op and have been freezing since the day of surgery. I have 3 friends that have also had this surgery and they all say the same thing.

Not fat enough? This is for Low BMI'ers
lyndynojo replied to SuchaPrettyFaceBUT's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was told the same thing before surgery but now that I've lost the weight those same people are saying "Oh my goodness you look so good! You don't look like the same person!" so apparently I was big enough for the surgery. Lol -
My nose starts to run. Crazy I know but that had happend from the start.

Is my heart getting lazy?
lyndynojo replied to TracyLynn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I sometimes get dizzy when I stand also since surgery and finally figured out that its my blood pressure. it wasn't high before surgery but since it runs about 90/50. so I just take my time standing and I'm fine. -
1 Year and 8 months out - No longer losing.

I hate water and always have so I drink sf crush or hawaiian punch. I keep the single packets in my purse and just keep filling my water bottle up all day with water then adding these. The crush is really good, it comes in orange, grape and strawberry and tasted just like an orange crush but sugar free and no carbonation. I do drink coke zero or dr pepper 10 maybe once a day. Oh the only place i can find the crush is dollar general store, one dollar for a box of either 6 or 8 packets i dont remember which. -

I have done exactly the same thing. I had my surgery june 2011 and lost from 240 to 165 in 7 months. I am really happy at 165 and in a size 8 or 10 so I maintained for about 6 mo or so then started snacking on not so good stuff. At first I didn't gain but then I went up 10 lbs and my clothes were all too tight. On the 12th of this month I cut out sugar and staying below 1000 calories and I've lost 9 lbs already. You can do it! It is really hard at first to break the habit, but that's what it is a habit and once you get back on track you will feel so much better. Let me say I've never done low carb. From the start I've eaten whatever I want just smaller portions but started saving the leftovers and eventually fininshing the whole plate. I have also never exercised, I know, I know i really need to. Any way I think I'll lose another 10-15 just to be under my goal so hopefully I won't be in this place again. I hope this helps. I'm right there with you girl! -
I am 18 mo post op and I only take a multivitamin and ppi. All of my bloodwork is great and has been from the start.

My doctor said no carbonation for the first 3 months while the staple line healed. I'm 18 months post op and I drink diet coke or dr.pepper 10 every day and haven't had any problems with it. A lot of people on here don't drink carbonation at all though. My doctor said the sleeve can't be stretched but some on here disagree.

I'm 18 mo out and this is me too! I was never this cold in my thinner days before I had a weight problem. Mine also started in the hospital after surgery so I think it is definitely more than just weight loss.

First Very Bad Experience...
lyndynojo replied to Vidalia's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 18 months post op and for me it doesn't matter what the food is, if I take that "one last bite" after I'm full I will be sick as a dog! I also feel almost lightheaded and like I can't see straight if I eat even one bite too many. I don't know what it is but it feels terrible. -

Carbonated Beverages Stretch The Sleeve?
lyndynojo replied to Futureskinnyperson's topic in Food and Nutrition
My surgeon said he took almost all of the stretchy part of the stomach out and what is left is very non-stretchable (is that a word lol). He did say to wait at least 3 months if I wanted carbonation because it is not good to have the pressure on the staple line while it is still fresh. He also said no sugary drinks, diet only. Some people on here refer to a utube video where a man is putting a balloon over a carbonated drink and showing it blowing up the balloon but this isn't realistic since the stomach isn't a closed balloon. Believe me you will definately burp any air out of the tummy. Ultimately you have to decide for yourself what to do. I do drink coke zero. -
Yes! I went from a 10 to a 9 or 9 1/2.

Forgive My Ramblings, But I Just Need To Ramble
lyndynojo posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So here it is, I'm 15 months post op and just in the last month or so I have been able to eat much more than before. I never thought I would be able to have more than a few bites of dense protein and yet now I can eat a whole fillet of talapia, almost a whole chicken breast and maybe 5 ounces of steak. Yet I can barely eat 2 bites of my favorite food in the world- hamburgers. I still have some days when I want to cry because I want to eat like I did before, admittedly they are few and far between and I would have surgery again in a heartbeat, but still wish I could get that whole hamburger, fries and coke in. Then again being able to wear a size 8/10 is amazing. I'm shocked that maintainence is so easy. Also shocked that the weight loss has stopped and if I want to lose any more I know I will have to really work for it now. That first year the weight fell off so easily I guess I thought it would always be like that. Well I guess I'm done rambling now. Thanks for listening. -
Forgive My Ramblings, But I Just Need To Ramble
lyndynojo replied to lyndynojo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No I haven't gained or lost in the last 6 or 7 months. I haven't been trying to lose, but before that I lost without trying. -
I was told no gum due to the possibilty of swallowing it and creating a blockage. Also my doc allows straws after 3 months. The air can cause some gas pain.

I Sure The Hell Did Lol

They really are all so different, I was cleared to try anything at 5 weeks. (except carbonation and alcohol, 3 months on those) -

I was cleared to try anything at 5 weeks. I tried salad about then and tolerated it ok, just couldn't eat much of course.

Question For Vet Sleevers...
lyndynojo replied to Curvy Girl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 15 months post op and I feel like I eat completely normal. That being said when you feel a little full stop eating, that one last bite is usually what is gonna cause pain, at least that's how I am. I have found that when I just have to take one more bite I hurt, get nauseated, etc. So I guess I'm a slow learner if I'm still doing that huh. lol Sometimes it just feels so odd to be stuffed feeling after only a few bites of something and I think surely one more bite won't hurt... wrong. lol -
I've never counted carbs so I usually put mine on a couple of crackers.

My doc said if it's liquid it counts as liquid. Water, juice, tea, soup, etc.
