My name is Robin, I'm a 42 yr old mother of 2 who has been married for 23 yrs. I'm a CNA and decided to have the Lap Band done after so many years of being overweight. I love my job and want to continue to work, but the pain in my legs and back at the end of my shift is terrible...so I decided if I want to continue with my job, I must get some weight off! So I started looking into getting the Lap Band done in Sept. or Oct. 2010...I got denied the first time and was finally approved in April 2011. I had my surgery done 3 days ago on May 23rd, 2011. I also have high blood pressure, diabeties, thyroid problems and high cholesterol...so I'm hoping and praying this helps!! The day I met my dr, I weighed 258lbs. The morning of my surgery I weighed 250lbs. I haven't weighed since that day. I would like to get around 165lbs or so. Maybe 150, just depends. I just want to be healthy! I want to do more for God...I feel like I haven't had the energy to really do some things I want to do!! So right now, I'm just gonna pray, walk and really give my best effort to get this weight off once and for all!! I thank God for allowing me this gift to do more for him and get healthy!!
