I turned 55 in April and came to resolution that my health was not going to get any better without outside intervention. I cannot count the number of times that my wife and I have dieted - only to add the weight back on (plus some). Typical for obese people, I have diabetes, HBP, high cholestrol, arthrits, etc.
I do have to give credit to my sister-in-law for doing the initial research and fact-finding on the whole lapband process. My wife and I jumped on the bandwagon and are both having the surgery (had mine on 5/19 -my wife's surgery will be 6/22). Dr Minkin has been fantstic and I would highly recommend him if you are in the STL area.
I am really anxious to begin this new phase of my life---a healthier and more active life
