I Really Thinknim Gonna Die !
italianlady13 replied to needachange's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You will feel this way for a very short time and then once you are rested and have allowed yourself some time to heal you will be just fine. Then you will look back on this and say "oh I'm so glad I got over that because this is the best thing I have ever done for myself". I had this same feeling for two days after my surgery and then I just made sure I did not lay around and let the gas collect. I went about business as usual and I felt great in about three weeks. The dizziness was the worst part for me.... -
4 Months After Gastric Sleeve Surgery
italianlady13 replied to skinnyb2012's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
CONGRATS!!!! Excellent accomplishment! -
Regret 1: I didn't do it sooner, just like everyone else. I suffered alot when I was fat and I just keep thinking about how futile all of that suffering was. Feeling bad about myself, hating myself if I ate something "bad", feeling like an idiot because I would try and just couldn't lose the weight, feeling ilke I had no will power at all....but then I had my surgery and when my hunger went my will power came. I literally feel very little hunger and when I do it's not like it used to be (like my stomach telling me to eat an elephant, gurgle gurgle). I look at myself in the mirror now and feel happy so when I make choices about what i'm going to eat I say to myself "now do you really want that?" Not to say that I don't cheat now and then and eat what I have a taste for, I do which is the beauty of the sleeve, I just eat a whole hell of alot less of it than what I had in the past. I can eat just about anything and never feel like I'm on a diet....

Trying To Be Strong! Need To Vent! Need Ideas For Soups
italianlady13 replied to Liliana Arleen's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
well.....I think it's high time your hubby learns to cook:) I think he can probably figure out how to make a sub, I mean they hire high school students to work at subway right? I know about responsibilities to husband and yes they can be like babies at times, but he has to understand how hard it is for you to be cooking for him and try to do it for himself until you have passed some of your wls milestones, one of which is the actual surgery. Right now you have a regular sized tummy and you CAN eat, once you have your surgery you will crave different things and want to eat different things, sometimes I have no appetite at all and could cook up a storm and not be tempted to eat it. So, it is my humble opinion that hubby should support you a little bit more by cooking his own meals until you are psychologically able to do it for him......I hope that was not offensive:( -
am i suppose to feel like this?
italianlady13 replied to jessicab's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes this is all normal. the grumbling belly is most likely gas from the surgery or acid tummy. If you doc perscribed an anti acid then take it if not tell him/her about it and see if it's ok to take one. Mine prescribed it from the beginning so I never had issues with this. to get rid of the gas walk walk walk. The popsicle is liquid and liquids go down smooth and quick because they empty from the tummy quick. Once you start eating solid foods or mushies you will see the restriction. You are doing great! Keep it up!!! -
Question for those who have made it through a stall
italianlady13 replied to Khy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree to eating more. The other day I ate like a pig and even posted something about emotional eating and thinking I would ruin my sleeve....I'm five pounds down :wink1: I didn't eat more at a setting or feel full I was just munching and munching and munching and when I hopped on the scale I was five pounds lighter... also, alot of people get caught up in the whole low carb thing and measure this and measure that but I stopped doing it after the 2nd month and when I did I started really losing GO figure! -

Nothing settling in stomach!!! :(
italianlady13 replied to saints92's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I could drink milk straight away, however I did the vomit thing for the first 2 months. Eventually I could naturally gage when that last bite would take me over the edge and know to stop. I have not vomited in a great long while....almost 3 months. -
Are you loosing "inches" instead of "lbs"?
italianlady13 replied to Sleeve2B's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I stalled at three weeks for five weeks but noticed the inches were melting away. One morning I woke up, jumped on the scale and was five pounds down. I lose inches and then I notice....VOILA there go the pounds. That has been the way it has been going for me so far..... -
New attention from the opposite sex......
italianlady13 replied to Julie76's topic in The Gals' Room
ok, well I can say this. Do you remember when you were heavier and felt insecure? Ok ok ok not everyone who is heavy is insecure. Well, I sure was and I can tell you it ruined many a relationship because those guys just didn't get it. HOWEVER, if you were like me and felt insecure when you were heavy then you can empathize with him and related to how he feels. Reassurance is definately annoying but as you said, the guy was the greatest boyfriend and you saw a future with him. Give him some more reassurance and some more time to adjust to the new slimmer you.... also he loved you THEN and he loves you now. At least with him you know that he would not leave you for weight issues, you don't know that about the other guys. You know he's not shallow and just into you for looks, you don't know that about the other guys should you leave him over this and find someone new....just some food for thought, no pun intended..... -

Does The Gastric Sleeve Surgery Help Reduce Depression? Did You Reduce Or Get Off Of Meds?
italianlady13 replied to ladylovely's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
well, I have read that in some instances it actually increases depression, however when you are slimmer you can participate in MORE physical activities which could actually give you the natural high (endorphines) which could essentially boost your mood....that's just a guess:) -
Going through a divorce, having just had my surgery three months ago, without a job and broke I just want to eat the fridge. Help! I'm afraid I'm going to screw everything up!

What's a "slider" food??
italianlady13 replied to smallgirlsxthree's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Slider foods are foods that just slide right down. Alot of people say carbs are sliders for them (they are for me too) and then there's ice cream, chocolate those slide right down. It's basically foods that slide down and can possibly do some damage to your weight loss.... -
Emotional eating....HELLLP
italianlady13 replied to italianlady13's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Thanks guys. I already did the damage for today so I'm gonna just breath and tell myself "tomorrow is another day" and start again. I have not had an emotional eating day like this in forever....I am going to counceling it's group therepy and to help me with the emotional abuse of my marriage.....I just need to remember to breath and take one day at a time, not 15.... -
Stall, Right Out Of The Gate....UGH!
italianlady13 replied to BettyBoop's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I meant I lost ten pounds the second week........you will do just fine, just keep following the doctors orders and stop weighing yourself. When you weight yourself over and over it only makes you feel bad and stressed and we all know what stress can do to us. Weight yourself in about 4 weeks. I know it will be hard to do but you just have to! It's for your sanity. -
How open were you about getting sleeved?
italianlady13 replied to cacilluf's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I tell anyone and everyone because I want to be an example for those people who want to have the surgery done but don't have the courage. -
