Are you in Texas?

Great news Tricare does cover your sleeve, they don't cover the band because they insist it be done in an overnight facility and most lapbands do not require that. That being said I had my sleeve done at a miltary facility and it was fabulous. At my support meeting last month they brought in a local hospital to talk to us about their bariatric center and the fact that they were going to take a few of the patients scheduled for surgery at our local military hospital because they are in the midst of a move to the larger hospital here in town over the summer. So it is possible. I wish you the best, please call tricare and check it out, I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

I am in the same boat was starting to feel very frustrated. But I have noticed that my clothes are fitting way differently than even last week. I have been working very hard for every pound to come off. I was stalled for about 2-3 weeks but am slowly.....very slowly starting to see a pound drop off here and there. Stick with it, things will pick up again. I went back to my diary and looked at what I weighed on my last Dr appt at one month out and what I weight now 2 months later, and even though it has been slower I still lost almost 14 pounds. But day by day I would have never thought it was going to add up to 14 pounds!! If you would have asked I would have told you that I only lost about 8 pounds total, so it is still a mental thing for me, I nee to not let the scale rule me. The first month or so I was losing about a half a pound a day which was incredible to me. So all in all don't worry our bodies are still adjusting. It seemed as soon as I took up running things started to slow down for me, but I can truly see the difference in my body if not my weight on the scale. I love the post from addicted to the scale what an eye opener!!!!, that really helped me this past month. Hang in there everybody, if you are doing everything like the Dr ordered I am certain our bodies will eventually catch up. as long as we keep posting losses every thing is good!!

lyn replied to JackieOMonroe's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Wow, is right, thanks I needed that, my scale has barely moved inn 3 weeks but my clothes are getting looser. -
I have been doing this for 3 weeks now and have stopped losing weight but my work out clothes are looser than when I started so I guess I am losin inches right now and not pounds. SO you are saying that the pounds will follow? I am really enjoying this program, thanks to everyone for recommending it.

My Two Month Surgiversary and Results
lyn replied to PrincessFluffy's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
you are doing great, We were sleeved about the same time and about the same sizes. I wished I had taken my mearsurements prior to my surgery, probably didn't want to know. I have lost the same amount of weight as you. Isn't it fabulous!!! I think we are losing at a pretty good pace. I hope to be close to 60 pounds lost by my 3 month anniversary, but I have slowed down in the past week it seems. Keep up the great work, I look forward to reading about your successes!! Lyn -

I DIVORCED MY SCALE AND MARRIED MY TAPE MEASURE!!!
lyn replied to savedbythesleeve's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
that is a great idea! I am trying not to let the scale dictate my mood but it is hard, maybe weighing once a week would be best for me too. I think I will pull out the tape mearsure as well, thanks! -

Help I can't eat anything!!
lyn replied to str8outtajerzy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hang in there, it does get much better. I am 8 weeks out and can eat just about anything. However, there are still times where even the smell of food makes me nausous, the other night we went out to the movies and my husband had some popcorn and I tell you the smell was enough to make me want to gag, I asked him to put the bag on the other side of him and it was a bit better. I used to love popcorn, especially movie popcorn. I had just eaten prior to getting to the show and it seems if I am full I have a tendecy to have that feeling come over me when I smell other food. But it does get better trust me!!! -
Congratulations!!!!

Date set for June 6; anxiety and jitters normal?!?!?!
lyn replied to mnbsleeve's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
VERRRRY Normal!!! I did so well on the liquid part pre surgery I started thinking that maybe I would try it on my own, AGAIN. but who can live on liquids the REST of your life, crazy, I of course came to my senses and have not regretted on minute of it. Ok maybe the drain in the hospital but that was it. I feel great and love my sleeve. It has been 6 weeks since my operation and I have lost 38 pounds so far. I feel confident that this is the best thing that has ever happened to me, all of the "markers" my cholestoral, blood pressure, sleep apnea, Vitamin d defeicency have all gone back to the normal range, and that happended at 4 weeks pre op amazing. I think of the sleeve as a gift and am thankful everyday for it. I have not had any challenges with eating and keeping things down, I have tried many things so far and had no bad reactions, sometimes I am surprised that I actually went through with it but like I said earlier I have not regretted the decision for a minute. My best to you!!! -
My Dr prescribed Nexium for me since my surgery, on the days I forget my tummy growls, if I remember to take it I seem to do much better controlling the growlies. My Dr says it is the digestive juices.

Did you tell your job about WLS ???? HELP
lyn replied to prairiedawn's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I didn't tell my company what I was having surgery for, I just let them know that I needed surgery and none of the FMLA forms that I filled out required that I tell them. My surgeons office just signed them. I did not sign the form that gave them permission to contact the Dr office I felt it was none of their business since their insurance company was not paying for it. -

Having trouble getting energy to want to exercise
lyn replied to PrettyLittleMe's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi, I was sleeved on the same day as you and had a problem with being tired as well but started making sure I was getting my protein in and started pepping up a little. I still find myself getting tired if I push myself too much during the day. I get especially tired on the weekends as I tend to over do it with the family around. Just take it slow and your energy level will pick up. I went to my Dr last week for my one month check up and he was concerned because even though my chlolestoral went down my good HDL went down as well, he says it was from not exercising and that if I would just try 10 minutes a day and work my way up little by little so that I can improve my good hdl. So keep on trying to do a little bit everyday I do feel my energy level slowly increasing. I hear we are supposed to feel 100% in 2 more weeks, can't wait!! Linda -
