    Attention Dr. Almanza patients

Remember it was not me who was sleeved there. It was a person from gastricsleeve.com that goes by rock22. Dr. Almanza came by the next day but really if it is too be stopped Dr. Almanza's patients are going to need to throw a fuss. I know I would!
  2. yellowrose,

Hey girl! How have been? I just saw a post about a robbery at the recovery house and I thought about you and your problems postop. How have you been? Are you feeling better?

  3. Wishing y'all a safe and smooth surgery and recovery experience. You will have some ups and downs but in the end you will be glad you did it! Good luck and best wishes!
  4. Remember....sugar free popsicles are your FRIEND!!! I still use them to get my liquids in and I am a month out!

First sleevers, how is everyone doing?

hey all checking back in on the last day of the month. Down 14.5lbs yippee! But still having nausea and diarrhea issues. But I also have a rare liver disease so I guess it could be a combo thing. Just something I will have to manage even though Iam tired of it. But I am glad I had the surgery. Starting walking again this week and trying to track my food and get my protein in. Trying not to be hard on myself and just take it one day at a time.
  6. Ha ha! that's great Sue! You rock! I have been measuring my pouch from the belly button down just to see when it will get smaller! LOL!
  7. It's been going on since week 3...mushie stage...and doc ordered me generic zofran. It helps...keeps me from throwing up all the way but the queasy stomach is still there after i eat anything.

  8. Hey girlfriend how ya doing? I see you are doing well with myfitness. You log in better than I do. lol! I am still dealing with nausea and fatigue. It kinda sucks but it will end some day right?...it better lol!

  9. I have been dealing with nausea since week three. My doc is 2 1/2 hours away too. I called and asked what they would advise and he ordered me anti nausea meds. Call the office up and explain what is going on so they can help you. Then that way when you do go in they can do a followup

  13. Libbe, I feel your pain sista! I remember looking so forward to pureeds and found out it was not much fun. Still having a bit of a rough go 3 weeks out. Went back on the PPI today. Keep in mind that the PPI will slow your intestinal trac down so you might have constipation problems later on. Make sure you get some yogurt in or if you are having trouble with yogurt you can get "pearls" at cvc, walgreens, etc. They are tiny pills that equal a yogurt. I am tired of running to the bathroom right after I eat and having the loose stools. I travel for a living so I have to be extra careful. It was certainly no fun at all on my flight home Tuesday. Normally I travel by car thankgoodness
  14. I am starting to get discouraged cuz I still can only eat soups, cheese, popsicles, etc. I am tired of having the big D. Just had to fly to Seattle from KC and back and it really sucks having to run to the bathroom all the time. When is this suppose to end?

What was your funniest surgery moment?

Those are some GREAT stories! LOL!
  16. I know surgery and recovery are rough! So I thought it would be fun if we shared any funny moments we had during surgery. So I will go first. I had problems with a low heart rate after I was moved into my room. It got worse as day turned into night and my husband and I were trying to sleep. The alarm was set to go off at 45 or less beats per minute. Each time I started to drift off....beep!...beep!...beep! went the alarm and woke both of us up. Well pretty soon I felt sorry for my hubby cuz he was exhausted so I started watching the alarm. Each time it would tick down close to 45 I would start doing arm excercises to increase my heart rate! So here we are in a dark room. I am hooked up to all kinds of gadgets and you know how the SPo2 monitor you have to wear on finger lights up red? Well my hubby wakes up in the dark and all he sees is a dancing red light as I am doing my arm excercises to keep the alarm from going off! He is like WTH is that? LOL Once he saw what I was doing he was like..."that's it! and goes over to the machine and resets the alarm for 39! He is a Veterinarian so he knows how to reset the machines! He still teases me about the "dancing red light show"! So All Stars please share your stories as we go thru the month!

    Sleevers 15th-20th

Thanks for checking in guys! I was sleeved on the 1st. Yes I know that pain in the front of chest all too well. What a bother that was and sometimes still is. And the "peeing out the hiney" definately gets old. Just finally got past that 2 days ago. Now I am dealing with "the stall" which is a pain. I know it will end but I guess what makes it so difficult is that you go thru all the emotions of getting ready for the surgery. Then you go thru the surgery and all the pain and discomfort. The first week is great for weight loss and that certainly makes up for the recovery but then when you hit the stall it is like dang! I am still recovering and I need that scale to move to help me feel better. Oh well, this too shall pass. Good luck everyone as you continue your recovery!
  18. I like this explanation. It makes more sense. I was sleeved on the 1st and I am in the stall phase too so I appreciate the post.

First sleevers, how is everyone doing?

Thanks! Today has been the best day so far this last week. Went shopping with my daughter and we had fun. Not so nauseous today thank goodness but still have to be very careful when I eat or drink. Lost inches even tho I have not lost weight recently so I am happy with that!
  20. mamamckinzie

    Got sleeved today too

Congrats you guys! Welcome to the loser's bench!

First sleevers, how is everyone doing?

I was August 1st and down 10.5lbs and have stayed there for the last 5-6 days. That's okay I know it will change. Had doc get me some antinausea pills last Tuesday. So now I am able to keep things down better. finally got a walk in today. Now I am trying to get my liquids in...thank goodness for popsicles.

    Surgery Complete!

Glad they were able fix everything while they were in there. Sip,walk(when able)rest & repeat. Take it easy!
  23. I agree with everyone how much of a racket health insurance is. Having said that, it still baffles me why this country went into (and still is) when someone tries to correct the system. Anytime someone tries to change our health care system or help families or individuals get coverage all we hear about is "our system is the best system in world". Well look at your bill and you tell me if there is not room for improvement.
  24. actually it is 17...yippee...but I have been trouble with n&v. guess not quite ready for food yet. I can eat cottage cheese, soups, but anything more is too much

  25. how was everything with dr. k?
