    Oct 8th check in

Had a nice 3.4lbs loss this week! Yeah!!!!!!!!! Just now starting not to have so much nausea when I eat dense Protein. Still using Protein drinks to up my levels. Saw my Bari this week and he is very happy with my progress. Said I was right on target and to keep up the good work. He said I was his lowest BMI patient he had ever performed the procedure on and that he was looking forward to seeing me to find out how I was doing. Now he is considering getting the sleeve done cuz he has now hit an obese rating on BMI. Interesting huh? Today the family is going for a 4 hour horseback ride so I will get my excercise in that way. And now that I am healed up from my falls I can start walking again too. Hope everyone has a great week!

    Oct 8th check in

Hang in there Tarada! Your will body will come back around. Its not over yet! We are here for you as you go thru this temporary slow down. What is your calorie intake been? Remember eating too few calories will slow down weight loss too. I know for me at this stage it is hard to get all the calories in some days cuz of sour stomach. We with ya sister!
  8. I lost 2.4lbs this week which I am grateful. I did not lose last week due to no excercise cuz of a ankle injury. I also got no excercise this week cuz I fell down and injured the other ankle, put a deep bone bruise on my tail bone and 2 goose eggs on the back of my skull! Needless to say I have not felt very good this week. Oh and my laptop has been down! I have a temporary fix for the weekend but it will be back down for a few days next week. I will get to see my doc on Tuesday for the first time since surgery. Still having issues with upset stomach and intestines. Hopefully he can offer some help. It has been a really rough week...but I will take the weight loss anytime!

    Eight Months Out

Thanks for sharing your story! It is always inspiring to hear from others about their sleeve journey! Only another sleever can truly understand!
  10. There have been 2 posts in the last couple of days of stealing from the recovery house and now an armed robbery. Please, I understand the need for selfpay. I am a selfpay. But there are other and safer places to go to than the recovery house from Dr. Almanza. I will copy the post from the gastricsleeve.com forum below. Firsts: Sleeve, Mexico, Getting robbed at gunpoint I had my surgery Aug 27 with Dr. Almanza... Wonderful experience with the staff. Especially Osiel, the night nurse, really wonderful... no English though, which was fun for me to practice. We all moved to the Recovery House Sunday around noon. I hadn't even slept two hours before I turned over uncomfortably wishing the masseuse would get there. A man came into our room; asked if we were doing ok; walked out. I let one of the two ladies in the room know what he had said (since it was in Spanish) and she commented that she had never seen the gentleman before... I didn't think anything of it... Not more than two minutes later another guy walked in... this guy was wearing all black like our drivers - he even went as far as to wearing the little bag around him as the drivers do... He topped off his look with a surgical mask and P22. Now, I realize it's not a big gun... but try being crazy uncomfortable, just waking up, hardly wearing anything, and without your glasses when that happens! It was surreal when he came in with that gun. I actually asked him what the hell was going on! Dumb... he pointed that thing at me. He asked for money and cell phones. The three of us in the room didn't have much but we were pretty compliant as he walked around the room calmly while pointing the gun at us asking for those items. I gave him my phone after a few minutes... I dug in my bag when his back was turned to push my wallet lower... he turned and saw me and again pointed the gun at me. I pulled out a shirt and made to put it on just so he wouldn't know what I had actually done... nausea... after spitting a few times and between (for sympathy) pleading that I really had nothing else to give, he walked over to me and handed me my sweater which was decidedly easier to put on rather than a shirt... Nice guy. After the first armed robber came back in our room and gave our gracious armed robber something to tie one of us up... he did... walked around asking and pointing again... then left. He never went through our bags. There were three of us, two of which weren't tied up... but we're so weak at this point it would have been easy... Five other ladies were tied up in the house, including the nurse. After it all.... nobody was hurt. Stuff was stolen, but really, it's just stuff... My thoughts?... 1. Inside Job - these two knew the only men in the house had left. They got into the gated community. They wore similar clothes as everyone we'd had contact with so far... or 2. Those guys were super smooth and cased the joint for a while before making their move... You decide. I felt like when the guys "in charge" of the recovery house got back they were a little... let's say... insincere. We were all taken back to the clinic and left by noon the next day - a day sooner than most. Surgery went well. I'm doing well (even after a 22 hour drive back home). Everyday is easier and I'm still happy with my decision to have the surgery... and since I've survived my first armed robbery I guess you could say I'm stronger for the experience! I couldn't have afforded a State Side Surgery so this still was a good choice for me. Be careful though... no matter where you are!

    Sept 24th check in

No weight change me for this week. Twisted my left ankle while walking on Monday so no excercise this week. Should be able to walk again ths weekend. I am going to have a massage later today with a friend to celebrate 20lbs!!!! Still having issues with alot of foods. Soups, liquids are best for me. I go back to my doc on Oct 4th for the first time since surgery. I can eat crackers, toast w/PB, cruncy high protein snacks from Walgreens. But chicken, steak, fish are not always easy to eat. I still feel sick to my stomach after eating. Thought I would be past it by now but nope not yet. Hopefully soon.
  12. Monday will be 7 weeks and food is really hard for me to eat. The only thing that tastes good is yogart and a few soups. Everything else tastes weird. I have no appetite and have to force myself to eat. Then I can only eat a few bites cuz it does not taste good. I know I was suppose to lose the hunger sensation but I did not realize the taste would be so off! It really makes it hard to get in the calories I am suppose to. It it were not for protein shakes I would be in trouble. But I would like to at least enjoy what little I get to eat! How long does this last?

    Sept 17th check in

Good Morning All Stars! It is finally raining here in Kansas! We needed it bad! As of this morning I came in at 178.2 for a 2.2lb loss this week. Been trying to up my calorie intake and fluid intake this week but sleevzilla does not always agree. Doing much better in the nausea and bathroom trips this week. The prilosec really helps in that department. Alot of foods still taste really weird to me so I have been getting my protein from liquids when I cannot tolerate regular food. Still trying to get my Celebrate Vitamins down. I loved the way they tasted before surgery but not so good after surgery. Weird huh? This morning I am drinking a protein coffee for breakfast. This is only my second time drinking coffee and I miss it. Have a great week!

Sometimes I am not all that bright

Nothing like "aversion therapy" to keep you in line huh? Been there...done that!

    Sept 17th check in

Way to go All Stars! Everyone is doing great and really working their program/sleeve! I am so proud of all you! "sniff" "sniff"
  16. Just curious if anyone has tried HCG after being sleeved. The only reason I am curious about it is cuz HCG claims to get rid of structural fat that you do not always lose during regular weight loss.

    Pain next to belly button

Ibuprofen and a heating pad is what I would go for!
  18. Wish I couldl of skipped the cleanse. It was worse part of the whole deal for me....horrible!

When will food taste good again?

I have been eating watermelon and a few grapes. I will add more fruit and see what happens. I appreciate the help.
  20. I used regular coffee this morning. I just really needed it! LOL!

  21. Sunny, I am sorry you are so frustrated! Please don't give up! Your body and mind have been thru an awful lot in the last few weeks! You are still in the healing process. And since you sound like me and have tried every diet know to mankind you have probably rendered yourself diet resistant. Let your body adjust to it's new tummy and restricted calorie intake. Follow your surgeons diet plan and you will lose the weight. You are probably in the middle of your 3 week stall so the number for weight loss was not exactly as low as you thought it would be. This will take time! But slow and steady wins the race. This time we do not have to worry about being dragged back to the high side of the scale. Keep your Fluid levels up too. I know this is hard...it's hard for me too but we can do this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hugs!
  22. Looks like all you spitfires are doing well so far. You are halfway thru the month and it will be fun to read the rest of the groups stories of thier wls journey! Keep up the great attitude!

Oh Kristina! Another surgery so soon?! Yikes! You are one tough Mama!
  24. Hope you start to feel better soon!
  25. Good luck on your new journey. I started out my wls journey thinking of the band but the more I saw how much trouble people were having I opted for the sleeve. I hope at some point they "ban the band" cuz it sure seems to have caused alot problems for alot of people.
