    When did you know...

When I ran out of diets to try! I had been thru the gambit of diets (insert what ever name you like) twice and I was to the point that with extreme effort I could only lose 15 lbs. It used to be I would only gain back to my starting weight but the last few go rounds it gain back to start and pack on more. After being on Jenny Craig all of last year and losing only 14lbs I gave up. I could not afford to keep spending my money on failed diets. So I decided to just not worry about my weight anymore. Well, that lasted about 3 months and I could not stand it anymore and reseached wls. I was to the point that I did not want to participate in anything cuz I was so tired all the time. I have Primary Biliary Cirrhosis, hypo thyroid, and high blood pressure. It was time. Started out thinking lapband and then found out about all the problems and switched to sleeve. Hoping to surgery in 6 weeks. Good luck!

    Co Worker JUST SAID WHAT????!!!!

Why does weight loss/dieting etc bring out so many crazy comments from people? I will never understand it. Everyone knows how difficult it is too manage their weight. Be happy for whatever works for someone....Jenny Craig, WW, or surgery..people ought to be more considerate for pete sakes.

  5. Hi Everyone! I am almost 50 years old and I am considering LapBand. I went and had a consultation and they are check my insurance. My BMI is 31 so my chances are low. I have fought my weight for most of my adult life and part of my childhood. I did well from 7th grade to 12th grade. Not skinny but healthy. I did well in my late 20's but then in my 30's it has been a steady climb. I have tried all kinds of diets and I am looking for a better tool than counting points or drinking shakes for over a year etc etc. I weigh 198 pounds and I should weigh around 140lbs. What has your overall experience been with the band? Glad you did it? Would you do it again?
