friggin p'd off! STUPID STUPID STUPID DOCTOR WHY DO THEY EXIST?????
mamamckinzie replied to italianlady13's topic in Rants & Raves
My PCP was not exactly thrilled either when I told him I was having the procedure. He too warned about the weight gain. I calmly explained everything to him on what I have learned and then he said "oh! Well in that case I wish you luck on your surgery!" Once he sees how success I WILL BE I think then he is evern the type to suggest it to other patients. But of course he was coming from a caring perspective. Your pcp was beiing an ass. He will learn the hard way when you go skipping your skinny butt past him if you are there that long. lol -
Newday. Looks like you will be starting us All Stars out Monday morning! You are the first "batter up!" My surgery will at 12 noon on Monday so I will be running the bases right behind your. Let's keep hitting that ball out of the park as each of our sleeve brothers & sisters take their turn. Then we will all see each other on the Losers Bench!!!!

All-Stars Preo-op diet thread
mamamckinzie replied to MeMeMEEE's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Having a SF Jello and Isopure for breakfast! Trying to be good and behave. Just taking it one meal at a time. Besides I have no room to complain cuz my preop is so short. I feel for the ones who have to go longer. I did Medifast for almost 9 months so I do how hard the shake thing can get. -

I keep staring at my countdown ticker!!!!!!!!!!!! I cant stop! Right now it says 2 days..14 hours..8min..and counting hehehe -
BigSexxy, What are your preop instructions? Mine is 2 day of clear but I started this afternoon cuz like where you are it's just so dang hot! I take my bowl prep on Sunday afternoon. I had the doc write out my pain and blood thinner scripts so I could pick them up while I was in Kansas City this week. I had the Pharmacy add flavoring to the lortab liquid. I hope I can get it down. LOL. I have Protein samples,Isopure liquid, broths I got from trader joes grocery and just need to get SF popsicles tomorrow. I am taking off about 2 weeks. Have your written out your "12 reasons I am doing this" list so if we are in pain and are says WTH?! we can remind ourselves why we are putting ourself thru this? I am glad the work week is over so I can concentrate on me and all my sleeve sisters for August!

Happy Friday Everybody! I live in Oswego KS (down past Pittsburg) in SE KS but I work Mon-Wed in Overland Park. I am having my surgery this Monday (Aug 1st) with Dr. Kowalski at KC Bariatric. Started my preop diet today and I am ready to roll for Monday. How is everyone doing? Do you have your dates? How is the preop/postop phase going?

The Easy Way Out
mamamckinzie replied to Sleevie WonderLand's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
KB you handled yourself with true grace! I am sure this tech will keep her tongue in check the next time. Until someone sits down and starts researching what is all involved in the process of WLS they have no idea how truly brave everyone has to be in order to take that step into the OR room. Thanks for sharing with us! -

Looking for buddy in Kansas City!
mamamckinzie replied to dalistone's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hey Everyone! I will be getting my sleeve this Monday! I am using KC Bariatric with Dr. Kowalski. I have been very happy with this group. The staff is amazing! So kind and supportive. Always willing to answer all my many questions. I also was impressed with the staff I meet at Hospital Specialty and Spine where I will have my surgery. Nice to see some more Kansas people. I live at the bottom of the state but work up in the KC area often. -

mamamckinzie replied to travelbum's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Staple removal shouldl be pain free. You might feel a bit of a tug but other than that should be pretty smooth. -
Words of wisdom requested
mamamckinzie replied to MissBliss's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Preop is rough ( I am just starting) but it is for a short period of time and the reward is so worth it! Try to hang tought. Have you wrote out your 12 things you look forward to doing or reasons why you are doing this? If you have not I suggest you do. It will help thru the preop and postop phase. Good luck! -
I know the jitters must be horrible but you are doing the right thing and you will not fail!

DID TIME JUST START MOVING 100 TIMES SLOWER?!?!?!
mamamckinzie replied to MimiMermaid's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I know the feeling!! And right after I found out my surgery date I was soooo excited. But then time stood still! But now that I am into my final week of preop the clock has started to speed up. It's like oh crud! Do I have everything? I still need to pick this up and that up and get this done cuz I will be recovering...So don't be surprised when the clock kicks in!
