Hello everyone!
I am so amazed at what a wonderful forum this is - I feel so blessed to have found it! It's nice to see how supportive and informative everyone is, and I look forward to getting to know all of you. I may not be knowledgable about the during-op and post-op, but once I am, I'll definitely pay it forward.
Anyway, my name is Lisa. I am 30 years old with PCOS and Hypothyroidism. I've been overweight since I turned 20, and obese since I was 21-22. As with most Bandsters, I have tried just about all of the diets you can think of: Weight Watchers (a billion times), NutriSystem (twice), Curves, Atkins (4 or 5 times), Slim Fast, SparkPeople (several times), fruits & veggies only, you name it, I've probably tried it. Some have lasted a day or two, the longest (Weight Watchers) I stayed on plan for about 8-10 months. That was the first time I attempted dieting, and haven't been able to last as long as that since. So, I've done some research and have decided to get the Lap Band. I am going through True Results and doing the pre-reqs my insurance (Aetna) is requiring (4 months medically supervised weight loss, 2 nutritionist visits, psych eval). I should be done with those in mid-late August, so I'm really hoping to be banded in September. My 31st birthday is that month - what a wonderful present to myself, eh?
Sorry for rambling, I just wanted to say hello and give a little introduction about myself. I've decided to try my hand at blogging my way through this journey, so I hope you guys will check out my new blog here. I hope to meet many new and wonderful friends
Thanks for reading this lengthy post lol. Have a wonderful, healthy day!
