  1. I have husband and son at home and they just had to suck it up while I was on the pre and post-op diets. Sometimes that meant cooking their own meals, sometimes it meant eating without me so I didn't have to smell their yummy tucker. But mostly they were highly supportive of what I needed to do -in fact, they still are. Sure, it meant a bit of extra work all round, but it was short term and we all just coped.

    dr may cancel surgery monday

And remember that you are doing this for your own health. It will be a rugged few days but definitely worth it. This is one time to keep the long term goal in sight! PS As hard as it may be to accept, it would be better for your surgery to be cancelled (I am hoping you mean delayed?) before you go into hospital than for him to start surgery and then stop because you're liver hasn't shrunk and it is not safe for him to continue.

How does the band feel inside of your body?

I don't feel a thing with the band although I can feel the port under my skin. It's a positive reminder of what I am doing . I don't think I am gaunt and sickly, I feel fantastic minus 100lb! good luck

Jello Freak Accident to the Tune of Katy Perry's "Firework"

Trying not to laugh out loud at work! It's great that you can see the funny side of this and share it with us. With an attitude like that you will be a rip-roaring success with the band.:star:

    pureed ground beef

I made some really tasty meals during the puree stage using grilled chicken, vegies and some nicely flavored sauces. I blended heavily and thinned with yoghurt or milk. The important thing for me at this stage was flavor after weeks of liquids. But it's only temporary....

    SIZE 14

:bananajump: It's a magical feeling, isn't it. I bought two size 14 tops last week - probably the first in 30 years. Enjoy the new you!
  9. I saw my surgeon for a fill yesterday and was down 10kg (22lb) in two months - that was a scale victory and he was very impressed. 46kg (100lb) in six months - so was I! But the NSV was when he said that he is now trying to have all his band patients work with a nutritionist - but I obviously didn't need to because I was doing so well!

    Feeling like crap

Hope that you are feeling better soon. Look after yourself now so that you can be even more of a help to your husband down the track. My husband and I were talking about my weight loss journey today and I discovered just how worried he had been that I would end up as an invalid who was not able to participate in life with him. I am so glad I made this decision and have him on my side!

    weird pains

Good for you BB! I'm not sure if what you are experiencing is a stuck or not. Does it happen after eating or just not related to food? I've only been stuck twice and both times through eating too quickly. I can feel the food sitting in my throat and I just know that's got to come back up, which it does. It feels very heavy and painful but the pain doesn't last too long. And I've learnt to slow down! good luck
  12. I had to adjust the armband on my Bodymedia Fit cos it started sliding down my arm.

    6 months

Hi Brenda, Congratulations on such wonderful results! I was banded April 13 and have lost 102lb and, damn, it feels great! I was a very tight size 26 when I started and am now buying size 14 tops, 16-18 on the bottom. My husband and I are dancers but a night of dancing six months ago would leave me unable to sleep that night then unable to walk the next day with aching knees. Today I went for my morning walk and threw in some jogging intervals! Keep up the great work. Sounds like you will reach your goal very soon. I hope to reach my first goal this week - to be under 100kg for the first time in more than 25 years. I have a lovely new gold watch which I can start wearing when I break that barrier. Cheers Tracey

    weird pains

Calling your dr is the best advice, but I don't think there is anything wrong with people asking for others to share their similar experiences on this forum. I don't read these posts as people seeking free medical advice. We are all in a new space with the lap band but some people are further along in their journey than others. Rather than worrying alone because we are experiencing something different, we come to this forum to see whether others have experienced the same thing. I have certainly come here looking for information and asked questions in the period between making a medical appointment and being able to see my dr. I certainly would not appreciate being attacked for using this forum in the way that it is meant to be used.

    Torture

Hang in there! Just think of your pre and post surgery diets as setting you up for success for the rest of your life. You've made the toughest decision of all, to have the surgery, now just do everything that you can to make it successful for yourself. I am loving love with my band, seven months, 102lb. This morning I actually jogged! Good luck.

    Feeling like crap

Sounds like you have overdone the physical stuff too soon after your surgery. You know better than anyone how you feel and whether you need to see your dr or not. If it was me and it just felt like overdoing it, I wouldn't, but anything else, or if I was still worried, definitely call.
  17. Just know that this is normal. You don't have any restriction and your body is healing from the surgery. It is frustrating but it is entirely normal in our journey as bandsters.

dont know if im losing enough

Normal! Relax and follow your dr's rules and you will reap the rewards.

Who Has Lost Over 100 Pounds?!?!

104lb and loving life! New clothes, new confidence, bounds of energy and a lifelong commitment to me!

    Is the fill process painful?

doesn't hurt at all. The worst part of my last fill was the spider racing across the wall towards me while I was lying on the bed!

Do you find it helpful, or no?

Great idea and a really easy to use tool for recording both your calories and exercise is myfitnesspal.com good luck

how do i get re-motivated and back on track???

Congratulations on resuming your journey. I think you have made a great step by getting to this forum. I haven't been in your situation so wouldn't presume to tell you what to do - but I wish you all the very best!
  23. It's the thin woman in me finally get the chance to shine! I haven't become a health nut but I am loving the changes and the fact that I can do more than ever before - so I am doing as much as I can. I'm not sure what the difference is except that I have made a major investment financially, physically and emotionally in getting the band. If I want to live with any quality of life, I have to make this succeed for me.

    ladies

Oh yeah, those puppies are shrinking and I am loving it!
