PB stands for Productive Burping and refers to regurgitating food that gets stuck. It is different to actually vomiting, even though it is bringing up food via your mouth.

Two to three inches is awfully big for a port. Mine would be no more than half an inch across. It may be and most likely is your port, but just check next time you see your dr.

If You Have To Vomit, Do You Lose Your Calories?
SageTracey replied to show1980's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Nadekusibe - PBing is Productive Burping. It's when you regurgitate food that became stuck. It is different to actual vomiting, even though it results in food coming back out via your mouth! Neither are pleasant and both are best avoided with a lapband. -
Cycling, rock n roll dancing, swimming and walking. The more the merrier!

No Food For Two Weeks After Surgery?
SageTracey replied to akurre12's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was on liquids for a month after surgery. Two weeks clear, then two weeks normal followed by two or three weeks of mushies. Every dr is different. The key thing is to follow YOUR dr rules, especially at this time. -
Am I Stuck Or Too Tight??
SageTracey replied to pibble11's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sounds like you are too tight. You can often get increased restriction a couple of weeks after a fill and that sounds like what has happened for you. You will have much better long term success with slower weight loss. I know, I know, I want it all gone now, too. But it took me years to put it all on so it's going to take time to get it all off. I strongly recommend that you go and get a slight unfill before you start to develop any further issues. In the long run, you will be healthier and happier. -
Band A Little Tight? Dangerous
SageTracey replied to Boniluuu's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You can also develop esophagus issues if you are too tight through the continual reflux, even if you aren't feeling it now. -

That article also discounted the theory of addiction substitution. Not saying it was right or wrong, just pointing it out. -
I Don't Want To Go To The Gym!! But No Work Means No Results!!
SageTracey replied to shrcumm's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
You don't have to go to the gym to get your exercise in. In fact, I have not set foot in the gym and have lost 62kg. The most successful exercise routine is the one that you enjoy because you will keep on doing them. For me, that is cycling, dancing, walking and swimming. Good luck on finding an exercise that you enjoy. -
Moderate To Severe Stomach Pain That's Lasted All Night..
SageTracey replied to Stacey H's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
What about your bowel motions? If you develop faecal impact thru a build up then that is extremely painful. Something to consider. -
Congratulations on getting banded and your initial loss. do you have a nutritionist in your medical team? They should be giving you advice on what to eat. at a high level, healthy means fresh, not processed so try to get your Protein in first (chicken, fish, egg, cheese), then your vegetables. Lots of fruit is also good. Once you start to get restriction you may find that you have difficulties with some specific foods but do not let that put you off eating other healthy options.

First Fill Coming Up.. How To Prepare?
SageTracey replied to sma102205's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Not all drs do fills under the x-ray method that was described above, either. My dr has me lie on the table, he inserts the needle and adds the fill, withdraws the needle, puts a bandaid on the spot and makes sure I can drink a glass of Water before leaving his office. No prep beforehand, mushies for the next day or two. It's all painless, except for last time when he had difficulty getting into my port, but that is a different story! -
My port has tilted, not completely flipped. I felt it roll back into position one day then again a few days later. Mentioned it to my surgeon and he confirmed it had tilted. He was able to access it for my fill but took several attempts. Said it may flip, it may not.

Already Feeling The Isolation
SageTracey replied to nebulamystic's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Time to educate your friends. Tell them what you are feeling, tell them how they can include you and support you. And then play it very low key. This is your journey, not theirs. They will either be supportive and considerate or they won't but you can't change them. The only person you can control is yourself. -
Does Anyone Else Have A Controlling Mother ????
SageTracey replied to ldjstonband's topic in The Gals' Room
Yep, you still want/need to talk to her because she is your mom. But you do not need or want her on your band journey. She is acting like a saboteur. Play it really low key about your band around her. Don't get caught up her in silly power games. Don't let her near your doctor. You are old enough to have this surgery, old enough to be married, so you don't need her there for this. Good luck! -
I have no idea what nepherologist is or why your lack of drinking would piss them off - but the best thing you can do for yourself is to concentrate on drinking often but slowly. As you have already figured out, chugging your water is going to cause you pain, especially in your healing phase.

Wow. Hit by big earthquake tonight. 5.2 magnitude. Epicentre under our town. NSV - whole house was shaking for 45 secs or more but no jelly belly for me!

Upgraded to 5.5 now. I reckon it would have knocked me off my bike if I had been riding! Our fish tank shook wildly! -
Question For All Those Who Succeded??
SageTracey replied to michelle626's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Try to get more Water in, just make it a habit to be sipping throughout the day and you will be surprised at how much you drink! Aim to eat your Protein first followed by vegetables and you will feel fuller more quickly. Unfortunately it may take several fills before you will feel restriction so you just have to hang in there and keep on working on those healthy habits in the mean time. -
Stay away from that fast food! It is not your friend! Good luck on making healthy choices. Protein first, then vegetables is a great plan.

For me the wrap would be more of an issue than the lettuce. I find lettuce of any type is fine to eat but wraps can be a day to day proposition. Just be sure to chew slowly, small bites and take your time.

Smoking And Healing After Abdominoplasty
SageTracey replied to Karen12345's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I'm not a smoker, never have been, and haven't had abdominoplasty - maybe down the track. However, sounds to me like you have been through a really rough time emotionally with your Mom and your son, plus the stress of major surgery, so I just wanted to reach out and wish you all the best. I hope you can find some support in real life as well as on here and that your physical and emotional recovery progresses quickly. -
Yes, don't let it go too long. You have done the right thing in contacting the doc.
