Step by step guide to the VSG experience!
jbcone replied to DougNichols's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Funny story! I cant really say my experience was the same...Mine was just a day surgery and I was back at the hotel the night of surgery, I wish that I could have stayed in the hospital -
is there a standard amount of time you should wait before hitting the gym? I know Im only 5 days out, not wanting to do it yet, but I have been walking A LOT as much as I possibly can, but is there a time when I can look forward to working out again? 4 weeks post op? 5 weeks? just depends?

Scared to go back to work on Monday, but it will be nice to feel normal again...now onto the exciting part, the day of surgery I was 266.4, today, I was 258.6, I think thats pretty darn good if you ask me I just wanted to thank you all for your love and support, it means the world to me so THANK YOU!!

what can I tell my nosey boss?
jbcone replied to steph025's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My boss is totally the SAME way...he wants to know ALL of my business...I think I am going to tell him that I have to have gallbladder surgery or something like have a cyst removed. When is your surgery? I just set mine for 1/24. Excited and nervous at the same time. Good luck to you -
And Im quite a bit scared...Im new here...HI, My name is Julie, 29 years old from Oregon. I decided to get the sleeve, and going in for my pre-op 1/5/2011...my insurance covers nothing, so I am paying out of pocket, but I think its worth it. I have a few questions...is/did anyone else have issues with wondering what they would look like? I have been overweight most of my life (with the exception of being REALLY skinny when I was really little) due to medical issues/thryroid/blah blah blah. I keep thinking that I am going to look "weird" or not like myself. Also, does anyone here regret the decision to do the surgery? Did you guys tell your friends/employers/co-workers? Im a little embarassed about it right now, but think after I have it done I will probably feel more comfortable about telling people. anyway, thanks for your advise/support!
