Hey V's~ We are back! Had a gread time w/ the family. My dad, stepmom Kathy, Sis Kristen, her boyfriend of many years Frankie, my bro John, nephew Johnny, Susanne and I! We came in went to sis's house. Then we all took a walk along the marina in Dana Point (OMG what a wonderful community). We talked, looked at boats, etc. Then we checked into our room at the Marina Inn. Then we went to Frankie's in San Juan Capistrano for a great bbq. Chix, ribs, homemade beans and green sal. Then we played some fun game (Italian w/ balls, can't remember the name). We had birthday for dad (which is really Tues) and Johnny's (which was last week). Johnny kinda crashed dads party, but that is ok when your 4, lol. We had a great day! This morning, we all went to brunch at the White House in Laguna Beach. What an amazing and beautiful day! We walked along beach shortly, then all said our goodbyes. My dad and stepmom will stay w/ sis (stepsister for 35 years) and will fly back to Reno in the am. Susanne and I went to the beach ourselves after. We laid on towels and played in water for a bit. We did not have sun screen, so we only stayed about an hour...and yes, we got burned. My dad has lung cancer:frown:. He is thinner than before and he has a bad cough. He kinda protects me and tells me "he's fine". He told my brother yesterday that there is nothing more they can do, he won't seek any more treatment, that he is healthy now, active now...has only a few regrets. John told me last night and I went to bed and cried for a minute. I didn't want my eyes to be puffy this morning. So as we were driving home, I held Susanne's hand and cried for about 20 good minutes...just to get it out! I am so completely sad...the thought of losing him kills me. I think he "protects" me w/ "I'm fine" because he knows what I went through w/ my mom. In the meantime, he is having fun...doing what he wants...hiking daily, etc. Susanne and I are flying up to Reno w/ nephew Johnny for Thanksgiving. Hopefully dad will come down here in Oct. A WOMAN'S WEEK AT THE GYM This is dedicated to everyone who ever attempted to get into a regular workout routine. Dear Diary, For my birthday this year, my daughter (the dear) purchased a week of personal training at the local health club for me.Although I am still in great shape since being a high school football cheerleader 43 years ago, I decided it would be a good idea to go ahead and give it a try. I called the club and made my reservations with a personal trainer named Belinda, who identified herself as a 26-year-old aerobics instructor and model for athletic clothing and swim wear. My daughter seemed pleased with my enthusiasm to get started! The club encouraged me to keep a diary to chart my progress. MONDAY: Started my day at 6:00 a.m. Tough to get out of bed, but found it was well worth it when I arrived at the health club to find Belinda waiting for me. She is something of a Greek goddess - with blonde hair,dancing eyes and a dazzling white smile. Woo Hoo!! Belinda gave me a tour and showed me the machines. I enjoyed watching the skillful way in which she conducted her aerobics class after my workout today. Very inspiring! Belinda was encouraging as I did my sit-ups, although my gut was already aching from holding it in the whole time she was around. This is going to be a FANTASTIC week-!! TUESDAY: I drank a whole pot of coffee, but I finally made it out the door. Belinda made me lie on my back and push a heavy iron bar into the air then she put weights on it! My legs were a little wobbly on the treadmill, but I made the full mile. Belinda's rewarding smile made it all worthwhile. I feel GREAT-!! It's a whole new life for me! WEDNESDAY: The only way I can brush my teeth is by laying the toothbrush on the counter and moving my mouth back and forth over it. I believe I have a hernia in both pectorals. Driving was OK as long as I didn't try to steer or stop. I parked on top of a GEO in the club parking lot! Belinda was impatient with me, insisting that my screams bothered other club members. Her voice is a little too perky for early in the morning, and when she scolds, she gets this nasally whine that is VERY annoying. My chest hurt when I got on the treadmill, so Belinda put me on the stair monster. Why the Hell would anyone invent a machine to simulate an activity rendered obsolete by elevators? Belinda told me it would help me get in shape and enjoy life. She said some other s**t, too. THURSDAY : Belinda was waiting for me with her vampire-like teeth exposed as her thin, cruel lips were pulled back in a full snarl. I couldn't help being a half an hour late, it took me that long to tie my shoes. Belinda took me to work out with dumbbells. When she was not looking, I ran and hid in the restroom!! She sent another little skinny thing to find me. Then, as punishment, she put me on the rowing machine -- which I sank. FRIDAY : I hate that Belinda more than any human being has ever hated any other human being in the history of the world. Stupid, skinny, anemic, anorexic little cheerleader. If there was a part of my body I could move without unbearable pain, I would beat her with it. Belinda wanted me to work on my triceps. I don't have any triceps! And if you don't want dents in the floor, don't hand me the darned barbells or anything that weighs more than a sandwich. The treadmill flung me off and I landed on a health and nutrition teacher. Why couldn't it have been someone softer, like the drama coach or the choir director? SATURDAY : Belinda left a message on my answering machine in her grating, shrilly voice wondering why I did not show up today. Just hearing her made me want to smash the machine with my planner. However, I lacked the strength to even use the TV remote and ended up catching eleven straight hours of the Weather Channel. SUNDAY : I'm having the Church van pick me up for services today so I can go and thank GOD that this week is over. I will also pray that next year my daughter (the little s**t) will choose a gift for me that is fun -- like a root canal or a hysterectomy. I still say if God had wanted me to bend over, he would have sprinkled the floor with diamonds!!

Hey V's~ The alarm went off at 6am and I 'bout fell out of the bed. That is a very UNFAMILIAR sound. I will have to get used to that again...sooner than later:frown:. We are leaving shortly for the beach, just wanted to say have a great day everyone! Gotta hurry and put my face on...been on vacation from makeup too. xoxoxoxoxoxo

LOL, it is sooo nice just to float. They have these great rafts that are net so you are wet and 1/2 submerged...but then you are out too! We each get one, and hold on to the side of the other one and drift around the pool. I love these afternoons! Gonna miss 'em when the friends come back, and work starts again! Take a deep breath, say some bad words (it helps), leave work early if you are at work...and get it done! You can do this...in 2 weeks all this shit will be a distant memory! Also, send your teach (or you should really call her if you can) a email reminding her of what YOU ALREADY DISCUSSED W/ HER ABOUT YOUR SCHEDULE. She probably forgot or got you mixed up. Remind her you need to fly to Jamica in the morning!!! If nothing happens, make some great coffee...and get crack-a-lackin and booty shmackin!!! Burning a little midnight oil is good for the soul. ((You can tell me to shut the hell up...just trying to be a good cheer leader)). I would attempt to contact teacher though, she probably forgot your earlier discussion. OK...NUTJOB STORY UPDATE: Ya'll remember "C" the nutjob who made the suicidal call. I've had a few "wrong number" calls this week, from her area code. So I just get a call...and the woman asks for Jennifer Sxxxxx (privacy issues). Well, Jennifer is the woman who the recorded suicidal message was for. The suicidal call started (from last Sat), "This message is from "C" and is a recorded message for Jennifer Sxxxx, by the time you get this I will be dead!" So someone just calls for Jennifer. And when I tried to call the number back (like redial) it says the number is disconnected. I hate crazy ass shit like this! I don't "do" drama anymore, especially if it is not mine! If ever I am missing...ya'll tell the cops my story, k. Back to diss...

I never read pleasure books...well, I start many and finish few. I always start one, and then decide that I should be doing homework, and feel guilty for "reading for pleasure". Since Europe, I finished 2 books, Drop Dead Beautiful (Jackie Collins) and Bungaloo 2 (Danielle Steel). I love Collins and have never read a Danielle Steel book before. It was very slow...could've said what she needed/wanted to say in about 1/2 the pages. Instead, it was 500 pages and was quite redundant. My all time fav book is YaYa's!!! I love that and books along those lines. I love historical fiction, set in the early 1900's in the south is my fav. I like strong women characters and lots of dialog. I'll start reading this book now. I like the title: Break Free from emotional eating forever! Hopefully I can glean some info that will be useful for me/us! Off to start...bbl

ooooo just as I clicked submit...my new book "Shrink Yourself" arrived! So, I guess I start that this afternoon! Are we doing the book club thingy? Did I even buy the right book? LOL, leave it to me to buy the wrong book.

Judy, I am a perfume freak...what "smell" did you get? I went and bought Magi Noir (Lancome) and Coco (Channel). I oly get the parfums, toilette water is not worth the $$. OK...watching some tv and chilling for a bit while S is out getting her "do" done! xoxoxo

Morning Ladies~ I love the idea of logging the exercise, especially cause I will do more of it when a)I have to log it and :biggrin: I read about everyone else (I just hate to be left out). I worked out Monday and the damn week got away from me. I swam laps on Tues (got my heart rate up really good workout too). Wed., none to really speak of. Thursday, none. Today I have 2 interview face to face, going to buy perfume (shhhh dont tell Susanne), and when she gets back from Moreno Valley (1 hour away for her hair cut), we are going swimming today...and I'll work out in there. Goal is next week to go to dance class 3x min! Have a great day! Did we hate BB last night? I can't stand "corn feed" Jessie! Isn't it weird how sometimes it can be a quick PB...and I can often eat after. Then other times, it is a full blown puke session. The other night w/ the game hens (OMG they looked beautiful) 2-3 bites and i puked for a long time. Trying to talk Susanne into seeing Step Brother later. There are no good movies out now...that we haven't seen anyway. Swing Vote doesn't come out here til tomorrow...maybe we'll wait! ??????

BRAVA!!!! Haydee~ I am proud of you, and proud to call you friend. As for babies...ya'll could come spend a day at my job...best damn birth control ever. They all start out cute, cuddly, etc. Then one day, they are in middle school, sucking the life out of you...draining you for...um, well, you get the idea. Hey V's~ Well, the day started out okay. I had a "blue/downer" day...really felt like crap. Felt like curling up and eating ice cream...so I did, sort of. Piehole Report: B: 2 eggs, 1/4 cheese (not counting coffee...that is a necessity, not a food item) S: 4 bites of crab salad L: 2 hotdogs w/o bun, 1 tsp of palmento cheese S: BADBADBAD DQ choc heath bar BLIZZARD D: Pork chop and steamed zuccini and squash. So, except for my afternoon melt down...I was ok. I don't know what happened today. I would have killed for that ice cream. I haven't had DQ in a while so I am gonna "get over it". I did a couple interviews this morning, worked on diss, and then "fell apart". We gave all that stuff to our friend Jaime. She is kinda struggling and was just laid off. Susanne gave her tons of Proactive stuff and I gave her old jewlery, a Ralph Lauren comforter (I never used it...hated the color), throw pillows, etc. There is some extra stuff for the maid to look at tomorrow. We'll see if there is much left after the maid tomorrow. I liked your ideas about women's shelters and will keep that in mind next time. It looks like we are having a garage sale sooner rather than later. Moving 2 households together leaves us w/ so much crapola. Laura, I would so need to see the storage unit too, lol. In the search bar, just type in anyone's name, or bb10 or anything, and tons come up. Some of the good ones are the fights, like w/ Libra and Jerry, or Memphis and Jerry. HHUUMM, do I see a pattern forming?

Jane~Don't know about blogging...i have a hard enough time keeping up w/ the violets and All My Children! Laura~ Yes, C is the suidcide caller...She had my number because I gave it to her instructional aid the day before. I think the chick is on drugs or something. She told the lady from the district someone was following her. Weird...I just pray that she finds peace. Well, the beautiful Cornish Game Hen and broccaflower...was wonderful. All 3 bites of it! Then, I had the PB the size of Texas! Complete w/ noise, slime and a fart as I was purging in the kitchen sink (sooooo attractive). Then it turned in to a full on vomit. So... S: (about 4pm after swimming) was 1/2 c. of imitation crab meat salad. D: Dinner salad (stayed down cause I had it 30 min before) I had some Low Carb ice cream! I just pulled 'em out of oven after 1 hour and they are not done. Gonna be close to 8 before we can eat. Having broccaflower w/ it. I love that...been looking for it all summer, finally found it! Here is the story of that lady. I wrote it in Word cause I didn't want it to disappear. One of my research participants C agreed in late May to participate in the study. She gave her boss her contact information, which she then gave to me. I called on Friday and she answered. I said, “C?” and she said, “NO.” She said I had the wrong number. I knew I didn’t…but decided to call her other number anyway. I called her other number which turned out to her school. I talked to the secretary and she said she was in and out of her classroom and patched me through. I left a message w/ her instructional aid…or so I thought. I gave my name, email, phone number and the nature of my call. I explained that C agreed to do this and that her boss gave me the info. On Saturday morning, I get a call that started out, “This is a recorded message from C (and last name) for Jennifer somethingorother???. By the time you get this message, I’ll be dead!” She went on about her cheating husband, and some indiscretion between he and this woman (she had the wrong number, obviously). She went on and on…I grabbed my audio recorder that I have been using for my interviews. I taped the end of her message. She left some number, something about her husband or something (much of the message w/ blurred and jumbled). She concluded her message w/, “You can find me hanging in my garage…” I quickly called 911. I shared w/ them as much information as I could…only her now 3 numbers I had for her. I was so scared she was going to hurt herself. I said a few prayers and thought about her all day. I called later that afternoon (the phone call came in about 9am) and spoke w/ some man who said she was talking w/ a doctor. I did not explain about the earlier call, nor that I was the one who called 911. On Monday, her district office called me. She told them I was following her (she lives 1 hour away). She said she called my number and some guys were laughing in the background. This, mind you, the same number that her district office called 5 min. later, my home number. They questioned me about everything, my study, my district, etc. They have all my information, name, phone, email, etc. Out of respect for C, I did not tell her district about the suicidal call. I didn’t want to embarrass her. The lady at the district said she said people were following her??? Anyway, she is not going to be involved in my study.

Quick update~ I have to do an interview @ 1:30, then 1 @ 2pm, 1 @ 5pm, 1 @ 6 pm. REMIND ME TO TELL YA'LL OF THE NUTJOB ...OMG, YOU WON'T BELIEVE THIS ONE. I'll type it out tonight. Long story...but a good one! Piehole report: B: coffee, s/f creamer, splenda (do i need count coffee?) 2 scram eggs w/ 1/4 c. 2% cheese, 3 turkey sausages 1 piece of Susanne's turkey bacon L: 2 cheese hotdogs (sans bread) 1 teaspoon of paminto (sp) cheese (3 carbs but sooo worth it) That is it so far. 1/2 way through second bottle of water. Not going to dance class tonight, but gonna go skinny dipping (oxymoron) about 3pm. I will do some laps and some exercises there! Susanne is watching a Jean Claude Van Dam movie...lol, shit if you ask me, lol. OK...gotta run! Did we decide on a book for our book club? I am swamped but can squeeze it in if everyone is gonna do it. Raise your hand if you wanna do the book club thing. I think Terri and Haydee have the first book. Hey V's~ Yes, I was a book collector for years! Then when mom died...I had books everywhere and couldn't see through it. So I purged about 300 - 400 out to friends of the library. Then about 2 months ago, I purged another shopping cart full (no exaggeration) and moved my CD's in the office. Then saturday, we filled up a suitcase and a box and donated it to Good Will. My mom was a book collector too. Problem is they take up so much room. Now I collect old compacts (like the ones w/ makeup in 'em). If anyone ever sees a pretty one...send 'em my way...and the bill. Compacts are much smaller and easier to manage! Denise~ Purple power for you dd and family. I am glad ya'll have the "month" extra to move, especially w/ all that is going on. Poor little baby...his Violet aunts send all their love to him while his mommy is sick! TracyKS and Kat...when do ya'll leave? How long ya'll gonna be gone? My friends Bob and Steph (we get to babysit their pool while they are away) are gonna be gone for about 12 days. Look for 'em, they will be on the Harley, wearing black tshirts, lol. Actually they are staying in a hotel for the first time. The past few years, they've camped...looking forward to the hotel this time! Man, Kat, TracyKS and Laura are gonna be gone...gonna be quiet in here. Terri~ I'll email you the measurements for my wrist later today. I am soooo excited...love both bracelets and can't wait. I saw you take credit cards, so we'll just do it that way. Yeah!!! I am officially on a spending diet for a few months...but I need a little something for the new school year! OK...I had to get labs this morning so I had to put on a bra and drive before coffee (not a good way to start the day).
