Susie~ First, know that his behavior is not personal. I don't think he was trying to "hurt Aunt Susie"... His bad wolf yelled louder than his nice wolf (ref: Shrink Yourself). I am sorry that happened. Also, there is a lesson here about trust and medication. Say some prayers for your nephew, try not to be angry, and forgive the behavior. xoxooxox PS~I wore uniforms until 8th grade! I agree...it really is a blessing. Also, it is wonderful for social issues amoung students (haves and have nots). I wore the jumper and I ALWAYS had a tummy:rolleyes:.

Morning violets~ I see many of you accepted my facebook invite...thanks. I am new and still very awkward there, but I've connected w/ many people! As for the trip...I have to state my "issues" early. May is doable, but very tough for me. Last year, the 2 days I took (cause I had exceeded my sick days) cost me an additional600 bucks, on top of the 1000 bucks for the air and room, etc. I hurt my back and had used 'em up. So like east coast trips where I need a full travel day both ways is tough. Now, 3rd week of June...I am WIDE open and can travel for free (w/o spending my "days"). I am very flexible then, can do and go anywhere. If we do May, I vote for central of the country...Colorado is central westish. I hate to be a PITA, but wanted to lay it out there as we start planning. I miss my violets and think of ya'll often! OK...need coffee and gonna go play on facebook and then some scrabble! Hey Vi's~ Morning...um, or should I say afternoon! It is only 10 something here, but that is late for a morning greeting. We stayed up late to watch opening ceremonies. It was great but kinda boring too. We ended up curled up on the couch, passed out...waking up from time to time to see. We slept in until 8! Then we had coffee in bed and didn't get out of bed until 9:30! I love those mornings...few and far between. I made us a great breakfast...well Susanne and my doggie enjoyed it. I managed to get some eggs in and some "wet" toast. But the bacon, sausage, most of the eggs, and some of the toast Klaus enjoyed. I've got to stop making so much...and trying to eat so much! This is the last weekend of Sturgis, so I think Tracy will be home in a day or two. I miss her. Where has Haydee been? And Jenn? My universe does not "roll" well when Violets are missing. Michelle~ SELL SELL SELL! Purple power for tons of $$$$ and getting rid of crap! I think we are gonna go see Swing Vote today. I've got diss work to do, but feel a bit lazy today. Our chix stirfry was good...thanks for the idea Michelle! OK, have a great weekend ladies! My friend called last night and invited me to her wedding! Which is happening Monday morning at the court house! She is marrying her girlfriend. She had bypass surgery in Feb and has lost 75 pounds. I am sooo happy for her and pissed we can't go. Hey All~ Susanne's appointment was cancelled, which puts everything off 3-4 days. I've been working my ass off all day on diss...man it is coming along! Michelle, you gave me a great idea. I am making a Chicken Teryaki (sp) stir fry tonight. Even have veggie egg rolls too! I thought about going out for Chinese, but thought homemade would be better for us! The chix is marinating now in teryaki and seasame seeds as we speak...or as I type! I am looking forward to it. OK...gonna relax for a bit. Got so much done, ready to chill. Gonna watch Young and the Restless and then go swimming! xoxoxoxo

Judy, What a great post! You had sooo many positive things in there, I loved it. Being born at 8:08, on 8-8-08 is VERY lucky according to Chinese culture. I wonder how many other babies made their debut then as well. They say that having many 8's in your phone number is good too! My favorite lucky number is 8 (sorry Terri) and I have three 8's in my number! Anyhoo, thanks for such a wonderful post. Morning Violets~ WOW Kat, I never knew you could go to jail for RIDING w/ a drunk driver. All I can say is There But for the Grace of God go I...it could happen to anyone! Hopefully you can get a nap after your lunch! Slept in til 7. When I woke up, the laundry drawer was empty, and Susanne had done 3 loads of laundry!!! I love having a wife! She has an appointment to get her toes REDONE...since the first guy messed 'em up so bad. So after the appointment, she will be on the couch and I will be working on my diss! On Sunday or Monday, she is going to go back to Phoenix for a month or so. Her mom hurt her back and has tons of tests, etc. Since she has all this time off...and will probably not look for a job until after the first of the year...she is gonna enjoy her retirement. I go back to work the following week (trainings for new math adoption) so she might as well go to moms. I will miss her soooo much...we've had such a great summer! But, we are used to being apart and we are solid. Plus the next few weeks will fly by for me w/ starting school again. The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants was soooo good! All the Violets will enjoy it...go w/ mom, sis, friend. It was sweet, smart, well done, great for ALL ages. That is my 2 cents:wink:~ Terri~Everytime I hear about the opening ceremonies I think about your new HD TV. I've been meaning to ask how you like it. That is assuming you've had time to watch TV. Perhaps this is a better question for DH, lol! OK...quick game of scrab before I have to leave! BBL

How happy are you (we) that stupid dumb ass Jessie is GONE!!!! See ya sucker. He just brought out the worst in me. I could make truckers blush w/ the language that m#$%^&*&^%er makes me yell! Hey V's~ I wish I got to sleep in this am. The cleaning lady comes so we were up and in the shower at 6am. I swear, that alarm sounds sooo violent after not hearing it much this summer (except for thursdays of course). We just got home from breakfast and some misc errands. Try not to spend $ while she is here...but I usually do anyway. We were going to go to school and drop off some crap I have, but no one was there. Next week, it will be jumping! We are going to go see Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants at 12:20 today! Been looking forward to that for a long time. I am still stuffed from 1/3 of my breakfast...gonna try to get some popcorn in...probably share a small (no butter). Breakfast was scrambled eggs w/ spinach, tomatoes, onions and mushrooms, avocado and a dollop of sour cream. I couldn't eat much at all (crossing fingers that fill holds good for me.) Yeah Laura is back! Can't wait to see pix and hear about the trip. Hope TracyKS is having fun too. Terri~ purple power in case you need it! Hey Everyone, WOW it is quiet in here today. Where did all the violets go? I am back from my fill. I am back up to 1.6. Hopefully I'll find a good place. My doctor said if I was frustrated, he could always go back and do the bypass surgery on me! UUUHHH, I don't want that one. He was talking to his nurse and said, "I have to use the smaller needle cause Pamela is skinnier than other patients!" Me skinnier than...anyone/thing! Yippee! LOL, I know it is not true, but it was sure nice to hear! We went swimming...man it is 110 today! We we in about an hour and will go back this evening. I have an interview at 3 and then at 4...then more swimming. I am hoping to get some ice cream somewhere in the afternoon. LOL I don't want to go to the store but maybe some will show up at my house! xoxoxoxoxo

Hey Everyone~ I am Pamela and I am a lesbian too! I've been w/ my partner for nearly 4 years. I am a middle school teacher and she is retired military (newly retired). We live in Palm Springs and enjoy our life, home, dog and community. I used to post in the other LGBT thread, and then that just kinda dissolved. I will have to remember to pop over here from time to time. Glad to see LGBT folks enjoying their own thread. I have had the band since April 07. I have had some trouble w/ finding a good spot. I am either too tight and trying to ride that out, or not. I am going for a fill in 2 hours. My doctor almost took it all out (saline) in June cause I was PB'ing everything and going to Europe. I talked him into leaving 1.0. I'll probably go to about 1.6 today. Before I was 2.4 and that was WAY too tight. We will see! Anyway, glad to have found this thread.

LOL, oooo I get it! I thought it was some pork rind snack thingy...I guess there is not many reciepes you can do w/ pork rinds.

Kat~ What is short work? I munched a few pork rinds last night! Since I am getting a fill today, I am not gonna do low carb for a while. Need to make sure I can get meat in before I committ to eating it exclusively. Tracy~I use sf Hazelnut creamer. It has less than one carb and 30 calories. Life is TOOO SHORT for bad coffee! Hey V's~ We are back from our adventures. Susanne had two doctor appointments for her VA claim for retirement. Poor thing...was poked and proded left, right, top and bottom. Long day. Tomorrow I have a fill! And some interviews for my diss. We are hopefully gonna go see "travling pants" tomorrow. We've been waiting for that one since the last one. I am sure Michelle and her dd will be going...all girls will probably go. OK...putting the feet up, gonna play scrab and watch All My Children and Big Brother. Have a good night!

That is why we went and did many laps yesterday. I didn't even count 'em, but we did lots. The last 2 days we've been in the pool for over an hour. I think I'd be far worse ® off w/o the swimming. I've gotta get up and get this behind me. Don't want to mourn someone who is alive and well! Today is his birthday too! Yes Jane, going back to school is tough after a couple of months off. I used to love going back, but I've had a busy summer and been working on diss too. So, it is ok...but truth be told, I could use another couple of weeks! Gotta put my face on and head out. We have appointments today for S for her retirement. One is 45 min away, the other is 1.5 hours away. I'll be gone most of the day. Gonna read Shrink Yourself. Problem is I KNOW I AM EMOTIONALLY EATING...now what??? I hope he covers that. So far, I like the book. Talks frankly, no bullshit...I like that. Hate feeling like I am wasting my time! I laid on the couch and watched the first disc of my I LOVE LUCY collection. We then went swimming and I did many laps. I have the blues, plain and simple. Susanne wants me to snap out of it...she is NOT used to me like this. Hell, I am not either. Hoping for a better day tomorrow. Tomorrow we are gone for some appointments for Susanne. I get a fill on Wed, that should help. I have NEVER been at a sweet spot...hell, not even close. I am either PB city or too open. Hoping to find a good place on Wed. Have a great night. LOL, that is pretty funny huh? I have never been in a hurricane, but we have rolling blackouts here, so I know about no electricity. Well, the advice about the garage sale was pretty good. OK...off to solve other problems of the world. LOL

Tracy, if you think the electricity is gonna go out...turn your AC down low and get the house cool. As I type this, Edward came on the news. Get a cooler w/ tons of ice for milk etc. I am full of good info this morning. Miss Knowitall, lol!

Hey V's~ Michelle...all the "crap" you listed sell very well. You price to get rid of this stuff. I don't suggest putting stickers on stuff...people usually barter down and the stickers come off (or some stick forever) and it is a big PITA. Get there super early and "set up". Early in the day you will sell stuff a bit higher, then lower your prices as the day goes on. Like the clothes people love here. You might do like 5$ bag (like small grocery bag) for all item they can get in the bag. Especially w/ books. Then around noon, drop the price to 3$ bag of clothes or books...you get the idea. The moral of the story is to NOT BRING THE CRAP BACK HOME! Perhaps at 2pm...you have a BLOWOUT SALE and make it a 1$ bag of clothes/books. Then @ 3pm...EVERYTHING IS FREE! Anything electronic sells first and the best price. I would do it...it will be worth the 10 bucks. Have your kids get 4 bags of toys/clothes/books whatever each. LASTLY...whatever does not sell, drive to Goodwill when your done. For me, it is about not bringing the crap home once I've decided to get rid of it! Good luck!
