Susanne has a sinus infection, poor thing...feels like the flu! OK...everyone talk a lot, so when i finish working i can look forward to LBT chatter! xoxox

I am sitting here, eating Good and Plenty working on dissertation! I will probably drop 100 pounds in a weekend once this is over! BB tonight girlies, it is live and someone goes home! BBL
  3. OOOOO I wanna see the email you write for her! I love other people's drama...I am a chismosa (sp) at heart! @ haydee
  4. I like to play with it when I'm laying in bed at night sometimes hahahahahahaha...could NOT resist!!! What can I say...I teach middle school. The kids laugh if 69 is the answer!
  5. Susie~ Loved the movie list...all of 'em except for English Patient. And one not on there is Grease!!! OMG Love that movie! TracyKS~ "nobody puts Baby in a corner!" TTFN
  6. Morning Violets~ I am so glad I found I Love Lucy on at 5:30am! That is my Violet and scrabble time...and in between turns during scrabble I put my face on. Now I can have Lucy on in the background. I know it sounds silly, but I LOVE Lucy and think she will set a great tone for the day. You can only watch the same freakin news over and over again so much! We went yesterday to get my licence to marry the girls (Melissa and Jackie). They also got their marriage licence too! It was nice and they took us out to dinner and we talked about the big day. they are getting married on the Santa Monica pier. This is a small service and then they will have a big one (150+ people) on March 14, 09. They wanted to have this in case Prop 8 passes in Nov and gay people wont be allowed to marry. Anywho...that is that story! Have a great Tuesday everyone. Gonna work and then come home and work on Walden, and then work on LaVerne. I need to have chap. 4 and 5 done by Oct. 1 (that is the goal...keep your fingers crossed). xoxooxox
  7. IF YOU'RE HAPPY AND YOU KNOW IT CLAP YOUR HANDS:hurray::redface::hurray::frown::hurray:
  8. OK...subbing in a drama class. The regular teacher was in Greece this summer and due to a couple of accidents all w/in 30 min of each other, has a cast on her leg and had to have surgery on her arm! So the regular sub had to be out today. The kids are watching Annie...how nice huh? My kids had a huge test this am. Bad bad night. We did go to Gottschalks and shop til we dropped last night! They had a private party with tons of sales on top of the 25% off for being a card member. We both bought tons of clothes I bought 2 Lancome eyelines ($55, man o man...w/ the discount) and Sus got some cute sandals and parfums! Had fun. Dissertation is coming along. I will start writing ch. 4 tomorrow and finishing analyzing the data tonight. I am doing a mixed methods study using both qualitative and quantitative data. The qual is taking forever to analyze..not like the quan where I plug it into an excel sheet. That is the update! Laura~ I don't have much advice w/ smoking. Except you need to quit ASAP. I don't know about 14 weeks or whatever. Go read about low birth rates and complications from smoking and scare the shit out of yourself. That should work. Believe me, I know it is hard. But how nice DH already quit. Now you wont smell it all the time. Also, talk to your doctor...dont just rely on books and opinions. Tell yourself you are worth it. Hell girl, I watched you drop 100 pounds in a year...YOU CAN DO THIS! Come here and vent and tell us all how shitty it is. I know. I still miss it at times. But I feel great and you will too!xoxoxo OK..gonna go watch Annie for a few min! xoxoxoxoxo
  9. Hey All~ Bad night...i am very tired today and feel a bit sick! Terri~ check is in the mail...for real! off to sub a period for someone! xoxooxox
  10. Susie~ I went to Our Lady of the Assumption for 7 years, then St. Teresa's in Palm Springs for 8th grade! Yes, what a model Catholic girl I've been, hehehe! Actually, according to Billy Joel, I am right on target, lol! I also like plaid. I loved going to Catholic school because it gave me a great foundation. I love the church. I never followed their rules, but the strength in my spirituality is unfaultering! Off to work. The Game Time Joe's are cooking in the crocker. They call for pizza sauce and pepperoni! Should be good! Have a great day! Pamela
  11. Morning V's~ Up early to cook Game Times Joes for a football party! As it cooks in the crocker, I'll work on homework! Stats guy was great, and will be back tonight @ 5pm! Judy, glad the party was great! Jenn, we love you! Terri, how are you doing
  12. I never got to eulogize my mom. We didn't have a formal service, just a chapel room w/ my brother, nephew, SIL, and two dear friends that grew up w/ us. One of them, Robert, his mom died when he was 7 so my mom shared some mothering w/ him. I didn't even tell her closest friends that she passed. I couldn't deal w/ it...plain and simple. And my brother let me lead the way (blind leading the blind). I was 37 and he was 33 and we didn't know what we were doing and we didn't have too many examples to follow. My mom kept both her father and mothers services very small. So I guess we followed her lead. The casket was beautiful and the flowers were georgous. My friend Marc (who was at the funeral) is a professional photographer. He took one of the orange roses from the casket wreath and back lit it and took pix of it. He framed it for me and it hangs in my bedroom. That and her ballet toe shoes from when she was 7 years old are my prized possessions. She died 4 years ago tomorrow and I guess w/ the Stand up to Cancer show and Terri's mom...kinda brought up these memories. Thanks for letting me share. Ok, need to dry the eyes and get ready. My statistician will be here in 20 min or so! Have a great day!
  13. Today I have to draft a eulogy and that is proving difficult. I'm not feeling confident that I can capsulize her life into a few paragraphs. So much of who she was was reflected in simple gestures -- the way she greeted someone at the door, or the way she threw her head back when she laughed, or the fact that she always looked her best. Just a bunch of little things that add up to one great lady. Anyway....that is my task for today. Send your energy this way, please! :-) Terri~ In part...I think you just wrote the eulogy! That is a beautiful paragraph that shared w/ us about your mom and what a special woman she was...and is through you! Keep it simple, reflective, and peaceful...it will write itself! xoxoxoxoox
  14. Oh yeah, one more thing about Juan. When I told him he earned an 85 on his test, he says, "yeah, I took your advice and studied!" Out of the mouths of babes!
  15. Cute Kid Report: I have this cutie-pa-tootie named Juan! He is just a doll, and little too. Well, on the first and second day of school, I told all the kids that right now, you have an A in my classes...but it is their job to KEEP the A! Juan, looks at me and says w/ big eyes, "WOW, I've never had an A before!" I assured him that he did, but he needs to study to keep it. This morning, we had a spelling test and the kids have a spelling packet due (each worth 100 points). Juan turned in his packet and earned an 85% on his test. I told him, "See how good you did, and now you've earned 185 points today! He said, "Wow...I've never earned 185 points before!" Soooo cute! Then later we were talking about dying and someone asks what happens after you die. I said, "you need to talk to your parents about that cause many of us have different ideas about that." Someone asks, "what do you think happens?" and I share that I am a Catholic (almost all my kids are Hispanic Catholic). Juan speaks out and says, "I'M A JEW!" I said, "no you are not!" He just smiled! He is a doll... Going out to dinner w/ a friend and my better half! Have a great night everyone! Terri~xoxoxoxo Michelle~ glad Mo has things movin' along...somewhat! Laura~Sweet dreams, cant wait to hear about 'em! TracyK and Jane~ Starting to have BB w/drawls, lol! We've been through 3 BB seasons together...wow! Judy~ I wanna come over and swim! Enjoy! Susie, TracyKS, Denise, Jenn, Kat, Haydee and everyone else...have a grat weekend!
  16. What page is the good stuff on??? LMAO! I'll give it another go, but I am a picky reader...especially reading about old people at a circus, lol...but I like juicy stuff! I need to put the book down until you know what is finished! There was a chick on the pictures on the right. She had huge loopsided boobs and was wearing a green shirt. I don't mean her any disrespect, but I don't like the pix on the right. Most of the time they are befores (no afters) or pix of kids and dogs. Anyway, her boobs were loopsided...but she is gone now. BooBooKity is still at the top...I like her! OK....sooooooo happy about BB!!! Sad about the eviction, but loving the HOH! WooHoo...bye bye Jerry!
  17. Oh yeah, who is the chick in the green shirt w/ the loopsided boobs on the home page. She has been there for a couple of days now.
  18. Man, I bought that Water for Elephant book and can't stand it! I am on page 6 and it sucks so far. What am I missing? Everyone loves it. It is old people at a circus? Does it pick up? In all fairness, you all know I am in the middle of a few books. Help...does it pick up? I came on here to say something...can't remember what now. Be back when I remember. xoxoxoxooxxo
  19. Hey Violets~ Another great day! Remind me of my happy go lucky stance when I am in the throws of it! Yes Judy, NCLB ruined a lot about education...and for what? Don't get me started. The chillren mus lern! I've been having a bowl of (LOL, I typed bowel at first) of Kashi Go Lean in the am. I really like that cereal. It is good, has protein and fiber. I need to pour the milk about 20 min before I sit down to eat it though, lol...hard to get that down in the am. We (the 6th grade team) has lunch at 10:30 am! That is sooo early. Last year it was at 11:30. I really like it cause I am ready to eat at 10:30. The cereal only holds you a bit (well, about 3.5 hours which is pretty good). Then at 2pm, I have a small snack and then am ready for dinner. So far so good! OK...gonna go do Walden. I meet w/ the statistician (sp...lol, I suck at spelling) on Sat. am for dissertation. I am ready to get that puppy finished! Can't wait for BB. I'll go to bbchatter at 5:30 pm PST and find out who leaves, then again at 6pm for the new HOH. I figure I've waited long enough, don't need to go 3 more hours. Have a great night!
  20. Damn, now the secret is out about my bellhop who wears a ballgown in my mansion w/ a tiny bathroom! :crying: Laura, that was too funy! Terri~ I LOVELOVELOVE the rosary! Sending you a pm now! Kat~ Susanne is going to join a softball league at the end of Sept or end of Oct (cant remember which). I dont play (cosmetic dentistry). She is glad and went and bought stuff this weekend for it! Back to work...thanks again for the giggles Laura. I love dreams, they are usually soooo silly! I wake up @ 5am and go straight to the shower. I usually am standing in the shower thinking to myself, "what the hell was I just doing/thinking or saying?" Then I remember it was a dream! hahahah I hope Macy, Robbie and Jenn's Ds(do we know his name?) get gold star stickers today!
  21. (((((((terri))))))) xoxoxoxoxoxo
  22. Hidy Ho Violets~ Another nice day! I am in the grove, but I am swamped. I have 39 graduate students, ay Dios mio...they are young and new and NEEDY! Michelle~ That was tooo funny! Mo looks like a sweetie...and you look great too! Love the new 'do! Judy~ Lookin' sexy as usual. Thats right...I said it...my roomie is hot! Tracy and Jane~ How you liking BB? It gets boring towards the end. I am crossing toes and fingers that Dan takes it. Terri~ Hugs and much love sister!!! Are you off work this week? Take your time going back. My mom went right back after she lost her mom and became very sick herself. I would LOVE to see the rosary if you'd want to share a pix. I love and collect rosaries, and now know what my next commission will be from you! TracyK and KS and Jenn~All the kindergarten moms...hang in there. In a few weeks this stress will be a memory. Yeah, the homework kicks butt (usually the parents). Advice would be to establish good homework routines at home w/ some sort of "reward" act. after. It will make a huge difference in how quick it gets done! Have a great night V's~ got chix marinating is herbs, lemon and garlic...yummmmm! BBL
  23. They look great...are you nakey? And did they cost $900...wow! I forgo my crown as the queen of spending money if you spent $900 on hair! Bow to the new queen!xoxoxo
  24. What a great day! The kids were nice, sweet and sooooo little. I am used to MANUELS, big ol' mean 8th graders! I was and am really in the zone! My kids have 4 pages of homework but it is due on Friday before their spelling test. I miss the short vowel patterns of can, man, tan...we are on to recitation, decay, teachable. Laura, since I was a little girl, I always wanted to have a daughter name Alexandra! Cute nicknames too, Lexi, Alexis, Xanny! My neices are named Trinity and Kaya (both georgous girls). Anyway that is my 2 cents. I really like Lily Marie! I am sooo tired. Been on my feel all day talking. Gonna chill, watch the show (big brother) and be in bed early. We had dinner and dishes done by 4:30pm, lol! Have a great night! Glad your doing better Kat! Terri~ I thought about you all day! xoxoxoxoxoxoox
  25. Quick post from the classroom while the kiddos work on an getting to know you activity. I love it so far. They are 6th graders, so sweet and nice...so far! I am in a very interesting place today, very peaceful and relaxed...never have been this relaxed. Feels good. The boys are all chubby hispanic boys who all look alike. The girlies are sweet...so far! Remind me of all this peaceful reflection in Feb. What kind of meat do you buy to make a "pot roast"? I like the shredded meat. Wally world sells one already cooked and it is soooo good, but kinda fatty. I never know what to buy? Help! Back to the chillrens...
