Yeah!!! On at work (sshhh) On candy w/ the babies, my friend has twin 7 year olds. After she goes through the candy, she has the kids go through and pick 1 they like, then pick 5 to "give to the poor kids"...then 1 for themselves and "5 for the poor kids"...on and on. If their "loot" is big, they might take "7 for the poor kids" or if small, "3 for the poor kids". That way, they kids get the candy they really like, but not too much. Often, the "poor kids" are her and her hubby, but most often she takes it to work for her students or for the teachers lounge. The kids love giving stuff to the poor kids and they feel good about it. But also, they are empowered by picking the candy they like, being involved in the process, and in the end don't have too much candy. Something to think about.

Hey V's~ I am up and too damn tired to be grumpy. That is why going to the movies on a school night needs to be strategically planned. We always said that it would be cool that once we are together (as in 100% living together) we could finally go to the movies on a Tuesday night! That was our first Tuesday night movie:biggrin:. I can't imagine snow now...it is still in the 90's here. My mom always said that it finally gets cold on Halloween...and sure as rain...it is gonna be in the 80's on Halloween! For us that is cold! Hey V's~ OOO I am 'cited about my pretty dangly earrings. Terri...dare to be bold w/ 'em, much like my ass...bigger is better! Stef called and picked up free movie tix tonight to see The Changling w/ Angelia Jolie. WOW...can you say Oscar nom?? She was exquisitly beautiful and a bit too skinny...but what a performance. She really could stand to eat a burger. She needs about 15 pounds, her hands were sooo vainy, she had man hands. One scene you could see her shoulder bones sticking out. But she really is not just a pretty face, she is an amazing actor. It was a great movie! Kat, did you and Rick ever see Apaloosa (sp)??? Got my grades done before the movie. Now tomorrow is all diss...finally. I hope I can pop in from work...I would be sick w/o my Vs during the day! peaceout...much love!

Hey Gals~ I was so pissed...I thought my district blocked the site, lol! Glad to hear it was just a glitch. On Sunday, Alex posted that he was changing servers. I sure hope I can get to LBT from work. I noticed Terri or Tracyks didn't post (unless I missed it). Hope the server change does not effect them either. Laura~ So sorry for your friend. Trust me...any age sucks. I guess as we mature though we are more capable to "deal" with it. My heart breaks for children who lose their mothers...well for all of us. Send flowers and perhaps give her the space she is requesting. Tracy~play nice w/ the teacher.

Morning Violets~ Busy Busy!!! Watching Army Wives now and trying to put my face on. I have a bit of the ol' "goopey eye". Haven't had this since high school. I doubt I will put on any makeup...don't want to ruin my nice makeup. Do I need to go to the doctor??? I was just there yesterday w/ Susanne. Anyone got any ideas? Anything over the counter? HELP! Terri~ yes please on more earrings! :biggrin: I'd like purple and a rich green color. I so love my gypsy earrings! Terri~ I got my earrings today and OMG...they are prettier than I expected. They are delicate and sooo pretty. I will want another pair in a few weeks...perhaps two. I want different colors, yes, that is how much I love them. Thanks again! We are home...been uber busy. Came home, graded papers, went to Susanne's game, came home had fish and salad, ran to post office box downtown and got my earrings, graded more papers. My ass is numb and my eyes are crossed. I have a training tomorrow and then a doctor appt. w/ Susanne..then maybe Monday Night Football. Then...you guessed it, finish grading papers. I ended one term today and start a new one tomorrow. That means after I grade all the stuff, I still need to "do" grades. I have Tues and Wed for my diss...man o man...busybusybusy! I am gonna wear something tomorrow to go w/ the earrings...I really love 'em!!! Thanks. I'll let you know what colors I want in a few weeks. I've got property taxes coming up soon and gotta go back up to Reno (dreading that trip) so as soon as the "extra expenses" come and go, I'll be set to shop! xoxoxooxoxox

Try this again... Hi everyone! Tina Turner was OUT OF THE WORLD. Not to mention the fact that she went non stop for 2.5 hours (except for a 30 min intermission), she sounded perfect, danced her ass off, and put on such an amazing show...complete w/ fireworks and pyrotechnologies (sp...whatever...there was fire). She had the energy of a 10 year old and NEVER once showed her 68 years! Shit...we should all be so lucky. I PB often these days. I just do it on the first 3-4 bites...and then, I can eat a little bit after. Made a huge mistake driving to Phoenix yesterday. Susanne made us sandwhiches for the trip and the bread was Dill Rye...my fav! I was doing ok, working 1/2 the sand very slowly when for some reason I decide to take a swig of my Water. OMG...the pain, the pain. I was able to walk that off when we were getting gas. Gave the other 1/2 of sand to someone (along w/ 5 bucks and a water) who was standing on the side of the road asking for food and $. Anywhoo...it is my own fault for eating a sand (w/ bread) and swigging water. This is gonna sound weird, I wonder if anyone else is having trouble from soda (WHICH WE ARE NOT ALLOWED). When I drink one, I get that bad shoulder pain like right after surgery. I did just figure this out yesterday so will try not to have any today. I was thinking it was arthritus or something. This happen to anyone else??? Have a great day!

Haydee~ We are driving to Phoenix this time. Susanne has a home there, her mom is there...we (she more than me) go often. It is only 4 hours...so we will leave here @1pm. Get there just in time for some homemade German food!!! (fat girl came out on that last sentence...down girl, down!) It is in the 90's all week here. The nights are down to upper 60's...not too bad. It will get to the point when we need our sweaters soon! Probably will wear shorts to the concert! Gotta boot scoot now! I am really looking forward to our trip. Everyone is still in, yea? It would suck if someone was missing. I miss everyone and really could use a dose of Violet laughter!

Hey Ladies~ TracyKS & TracyK~ Doing ok here. The fridge needed a new motor and because I called the "wrong" company, I am only reimbursed parts. Which turned into an expensive lesson. Been swamped this week. Walden term is ending Sunday and new one starts Monday...OH AND I AM GOING TO PHOENIX THIS WEEKEND! And my diss professor is waiting for my corrections...AAAAHHHH! We are going to see Tina Turner in Phoenix! Should be fun. Then a weekend of great German food...then home Sunday for homework, shopping and then Susanne has a game at 3! Gonna be a quick weekend. But next week is "spirit week" so it will fly by w/ all the hoopla. Have a great day!

Bula Vinaca Violetas~ (Fijian) Feeling much better. Ever have one of those days where the world pisses you off? That was me yesterday. Our fridge took a powder and it was 360 days old. Well, I called the "wrong" company so I am only reimbursed for parts...not labor :Dancing_biggrin::cursing::party:. I mentioned that my responsibility was to my family and the food we just purchaced and to get the QUICKEST response. They didn't "answer" their phone and it went to busy signals cause "they have a high call volume on Monday". Well...that was a $150 lesson. Tracy~ glad you are feeling better. Once the kids start school, families usually get sick w/ all the germs from school. My first year teaching I was sick a lot! Now...very rarely (knocking wood). Judy~ So nice to have you back! Hey Ladies, Laura~OMG..you are gonna love Brokeback. The film is soooo beautiful, full of rich vivid colors and sceneries. The story takes my breath away...I sat in there and cried for an additional 10 min, and then in the car and smoked and cried some more. There is one scene at the end that if I think of...I'll cry now. You are not as "sappy" as I am...but I think it is a wonderful movie, very well done...and it left a lasting impression on me. I had 2 PB's yesterday...one on an egg taco thingy I made in the morning, and one at the Chinese place we went to after the game. That one almost was ugly...barely made it to bathroom. Today I am gonna really try to baby it...once I get on a roll w/ the PB's they don't usually stop. I know it is cause of my big mouth, taking too much in. When does Judy get back? Hasn't she been gone a month now? Our 14 month old Maytag fridge is not working right...mo' money gonna be spent today for the repair man thats fo' shoow! BBL
