Hey gang~ Heather, I would think you can use turkey instead...or more tofu. I eat so much pork...love that "other white meat". We are watching a video on Civil Rights. It is really amazing how little kids know about the struggles that came before them. I am still sick...and really wish I could go home. I have an hour and 1/2 to go...wish me luck.

Good morning Violets~ Well I am up...still completely plugged up, but am going in. It is too hard not to go, hell, I'd have to go in anyway to make plans. I figure it is Friday, I'll get through it! I was able to get some work done. I am sorry, I know you are tired of hearing it...you should hear me yelling yesterday about having to live it! I just want it done. I think I'll work on it today after school as well. We are going to a bridal shower for Jackie and Melissa tomorrow. Those are the girls I already married, but they are having their "big" wedding March 14. The only reason they got married in Sept was because of Prop 8...good thing they did. So, tomorrow is the shower for the big day...the one w/ 160 people!!! 5 of us went in and got them a Wii Fit! We know they want it so that will be good. What else...then on Sunday, we are going to the last night of the film festival and the big "gala". We are seeing a movie w/ Charlize Theron and Kim Bassinger in it. I don't know if they will be there or not...there have been tons of stars here this week. The only reason they would be is because it is the premier of the movie and then the big party after. We spent 50 bucks on these tix (each)...it should be fun! Other than that...tons of homework this weekend. I am so close I could spit! TracyK~ good luck sweetie! Yeah pain meds! Hey Gang~ Laura, I loved Button!!! It was an amazing story and nothing like it has been made before. I didn't feel like it was too long...but it is a bit slow in the middle...but it still goes. Hey Girlies~ Terry, yes...I am home again. Actually, I am sooo mad at being sick again. But, there is nothing I can do now. I do feel about 20% better, but still have a fever. I just got home from school as I had to make lesson plans for the sub. I actually went in w/ my PJ's top on, sweats and a sweat jacket. I will take some Tylenol and give it a bit of time and try to work again. I did get some MAJOR progress yesterday afternoon. Hoping for a repeat. I have Sat am to work on it and Sunday too. Hoping it wont take that long though. Then Sunday, I'll have 30 graduate papers to grade...ooooo will the fun ever end? Didn't eat much yesterday at all. I PB'd 2x on Tuesday (should have been a clue to be getting sick). Had weight control oat meal, 1/2 can of chix noodle soup (old fashion red and white can) 1/2 cu.of spaghetti sauce, c. ice cream. We even skipped pop corn at the movies! Speaking of movies, we are going again to the PS International Film Festival! Even though I am sick, I figure I can bundle up and sit through a movie as easy as watching TV at home! Yesterday's movie was a German movie (w/ subtitles) about a woman in her 60's who has a passionate affair w/ an older man...and she leaves her husband of 30 years. It was really good. Today is called, For My Wife, and is about a lesbian couple, who one woman is dying and they won't let her wife in the hospital because they are not "legally" married. Should be a tear jerker...that is why we need popcorn (haha...sooo full of shit arent I). Ok...should give your eyes a rest now. xoxoxoxo

Hey gang~ Terry, I took a 2 hour nap and worked a bit before that. Woke, showered and now feel a tad bit better. I've been working for a about an hour...taking an quick lbt break. Gonna keep working and we have tix to go to Palm Springs Film Festival tonight...and I am going to that too! I might take Thursday off as well. W/ being sick, I am only working to 50% capacity. Back to the grind!

Good Morning~ I am sick...and mad as hell! I planned on "playing hookey" today to FINISH the ch. 5 edits. I talked to chair on Monday and had my colleague over for dinner last night to help...all in preparation to get this crap done! And sure as shit I am sick. I have a fever and my head only weighs about 40 lbs!!! WWHAAA! I am hoping in a short bit that the Tylenol will kick in and I will be able to at least sit there and "look" like I am working on it! TracyK~So sorry about your neck pain!!! Do you use the electricity at the doc??? My mom had a disc out and it sat on a nerve. She would use the electricity so much they got her a 10s Unit(that is what it was called back then...like in the 90's) for home! It was AMAZING relief for her. I know when I hurt my back, I go in and lay on the electric pads to get it on my bad spot. I hope you feel better! Judy~ How are you feeling? I loved the pix of the shower...I guess I missed it that it was going to be at a hall...it looks like Kristen (my sister's name) made out like a bandit! The presents went across the stage!!! Morning V's~ So 'cited bout the trip! Have not had a minute to look at flights yet though...when are people buying theirs? I thought I saw some arrival times for some girlies on the spreadsheet?? Up at the gym this am. Could only work out 40 min but I was a sweating good! Had weight control oatmeal, 1 bot of water so far. Snack is grapefruit and more water. May need granola bar not sure yet. We go out to lunch cause it is min. day!!! I am either spliting a sal w/ friend or having a hamburger sans bun...not sure yet. Then tonight I am making spaghetti for my friend who is coming over to help w/ ch. 5 edits. He already finished his in June and we have the same chair! I will have a "cold" tomorrow as I finish the edits!!! Thats it from sunny Palm Springs. 82 here today!!! It was 63 at 4:50 when we left for the gym!!! Denise...third time is a charm. LOL, I live in Palm Springs proper...no east, west, north or south about it. I wasn't gonna mention it, but it is going to be 82 here today! And Tuesday, then we have a cold front moving in and it will be 75 for the rest of the week! :thumbdown: This ladies, is WHY I endure 115 degree July's...that and also this IS freakin' paradise! Good morning kiddos! I caught Judy's cold!!!:thumbup: Can't believe it...I was just hella sick in late Dec (right before xmas). I think it is allergies. I wake up stuffy, and consequently, achy and conjested. The last 2 nights, I've had very painful coughs right before I go to bed. Not coughing in the night...but just before. And they hurt my chest so bad. Don't know if I should use some Vicks Vapo Rub or not...don't want to make it worse. Oddly, I kinda feel good during the day, just shitty in the am and right before bed????:thumbup: Well, I am up at the butt crack of early to go to day two of games. Terry~no they lost badly. Game 1 was like 13-0, Game 2 was something like 14-2, and Game 3 was 14-5. Each game "we" got better, but it was a slaughter. Our team gave it their best though. All the teams were young and all male (there was 1 girl on 1 team). They had far more power. Honestly, the team would have done better by staying in their own division, but the coach got a bit cocky cause they were undefeated. So he pushed them up to the next level. Anyway, there are some pix on my Facebook page of the game. Some of them are from last week when it was freezing. Most are from yesterday. I was wondering about what you all do for portions. I hear people talking about 1 cup of food. Do you seriously mean 1 cup, as in the cup measuring thingy that lives in the drawer (it has the 1/2 c., 1/3 c., 1/4 c. all connected) OR are you using a measuring cup. The measuring cup is bigger somehow...not sure but it is. Have a great day! It is sooo nice and you all are welcome here. Oh yeah, glad we are starting to talk about the trip.

OK...the decorations are put away...the first credit card bill has been paid...when are we gonna start making the "dream" a reality! I need to be reminded of when and where we are going...lol, I don't care as long as my violets are there!

Hey Girlies~ Wow...what a great day! Just beautiful out and hot. I got some great color, a bit too hot though. I was dying in shorts and a tee! For those on Facebook, my friend Suzan posted a bunch of pix from today. You can see the album from my home page. Sus is #25! Anyway...they played three in a row...lost, but had a great day. They were playing all young male teams in their early 20's. I heard this guy say, "man, I can't do that anymore (after a hotdog move)...I gotta remember I am 24 now!" REALLY...Sus is 45! But they had fun. They play tomorrow at 8am...which sucks and interrupts our Sunday "stayinbeddrinkingcoffee" ritual. Oh well. Gotta boogey! BBL

WooHoo...5 days this week at the gym! And Sus didnt go w/ me today. She is playing in a tourney and will get plenty of exercise! I am proud of myself! I am wearing...shorts and a t-shirt to the game today. It is supposed to be 75 today. I shaved and put on my lotion and some sex oil (lol...really, but it is good for the legs to shine too) and am ready. Hey Girls~ Have you heard of the Palm Springs Film Festival? Well we bought our tickets to the last night's movie/gala. It is next Sunday the 19th. Should be fun. It is a movie and a party. They have been talking about it for the last two nights on Access Hollywood, the PS Film Festival, so I wasn't sure if you have heard of it or not. We had an Earthquake last night. It was originally reported as a 5.0, but this morning they said 4.5 centered in San Bernadino, which is 45 min away. I felt is and was moving away from the couch because I didn't want stuff on the wall to fall on my head. Sus was downtown and she did not feel it. Anyway, that was on Good Morning America this am, so I wasn't sure if ya'll heard about it. I am tired, cranky...and ready to be rid of the chill-ren! I guess the first week kicked my butt a bit, either that or 4 days of waking at 4:30 is. I am proud of us for going 4 days this week, and we will go tomorrow for sure. Sat. are fun cause I double the cardio, abs and weight reps and we are not rushed. Next week, w/ bus duty I will have only 40 min workouts in the morning. We have a min. day Tues and meetings all afternoon...ohh joy! Also, I don't know if I mentioned it, I applied for the Human Rights Commission and interview w/ the mayor and councilwoman on Mon. That would be cool if I got on. I would love to be involved w/ city politics. Hell, I'd like to be the president. Trouble is, I did inhale...and have many more skeletons in my closet. OK..the kids are watching a movie on Isreal (yawn) and I am just trying to stay calm the last 20 min of the day. We have a few things to do this afternoon, and a happy hour to attend, as well as registering Sus for her softball tourney at this bar downtown. Not sure if we are staying or just signing up. She said, "I don't want to stay, I'd rather come home, watch the soaps (All My children and Young and the Restless) and cuddle w/ you!" Man I love her! Have a great night/ weekend! xoxooxxo

Well...again, not only did I fall off the wagon...I got off and walked a mile from it! Ended up at a pizza joint and ate a salad AND 3 pieces of pizza (all veggie THIN CRUST) but 3 pieces all the same. Now..I am killing a box of Good & Plenty that my evil friend gave me for xmas.
