Good Morning Girls~ LONG day for me...I am teaching a test prep boot camp during my prep and then have the Human Rights meeting until 5!! Uggg... I am 91% finished w/ my Andre Agassi book, Open. It is SOOOO good but my Kindle battery died. That is the longest battery life...make sure you turn it all the way off Haydee. Anyway, it is gonna rain for a minute today and I wish I could stay home and read the rest. Michelle, glad you made it through the weekend...tough I know. Everyone, have a great day! Pop in from work! xoxoxox

Hey girls ~ did 11 min on the eliptical...it was hot and I was not so gently reminded that I need to get a ceiling fan in the bedroom. Grading papers. That is it for today!! xoxooxox
-
Yes she knows...she was right there. Problem is that the girls said my mil said it was ok to clean it out!!! That is what makes me madest...but I can't say anything to Sus (she is very defensive of mil). Their intentions were good, so I will let it go. But I will manage to let mil know how pissed I am...acting like I don't know she ok'd it. I did 15 min on the eliptical and had to get off cause I THOUGHT the guy was coming to fix the washer. So I did my 15 and it was hard, but felt GREAT to get back to it. I had to get off and jump in shower, only to just get a call that the technician called in sick...now I have to wait a week!!! uuuggg. oh well, I am going to sit by the pool and read my book. I got a new book yesterday, Slash's autobiograhpy (Slash guitarist for Guns 'n Roses)...omg, it is great already. But I want to finish Andre's book first! I also have Melissa Etheridge's book downloaded already...waiting. xoxooxxo

Morning Girls~ OMG Judy...can't believe you mentioned the sewing kit. The main reason I was SOOO PISSED this week (remember Mon and Tues) was that the German girls, while working on our curtains, CLEANED OUT MY MATERNAL AND PATERNAL GRANDMOTHERS SEWING KITS!!! I cried. They emptied one, threw some of the old stuff out (I had needles in original packages from the 40's) put all the buttons together, and basically fucked (sorry...pissed again just thinking about it) all up!!!!! I cried. Then I had to suck it up and say to myself that there is nothing I can do about it, the stuff they threw out was at the bottom of the trash can w/ food stuff on top (I looked when they went to bed). I am still heartbroken. They "thought" they were doing me a favor, but why would anyone do this kind of "favor"...obviously, if I wanted to throw old crap out...I would. I AM PISSED AGAIN, SO I GOTTA LET IT GO. Sus is coming home today (long story...mil is pissing me off, but I can't say anything). So I am going to go on the eliptical. Been 2+ months...but I have one in the bedroom. That and the pool are my exercise options now, as I quit the gym. uuuggg, so pissed again...gotta let it go. I LOVED my paternal gma's sewing kit...I have been using it since she died in like '94....UUUUGGGGGG. HAVE A GREAT DAY! i am pissed, lol! where is my ipod???? xooxoxxo

Judy, Hope you get some relief soon. I've had a shot of cortisone in the knee before...amazing difference. I need some water pills, I'll ask at my next apt. xo

Hi Girls~ Jane, that SUX about your insurance. I hate that companies think they have you by the short hairs...and they do! Keep fighting...you are not trying to make friends, you've got enough friends. Take no prisoners. Haydee, not w/ the German girls...w/ mom. Nothing major just Sus needs to take the Germans to Phx. Gonna miss her, I kinda like having her around. Judy, that sounds yummy. I've been craving Mex food and fiest anything sounds yummmm!! pop back later!
-
Morning Girls~ Judy, good luck w/ the knee. Last night my knee hurt and thought of you, then thought "what the hell is up w/ the violets falling apart!?" Can't believe it is snowing...nap time! Michelle, uugg, I don't envy you. My advice (that you didn't ask for) is to enjoy the process, remember her well, live in the moment and allow yourself to feel sad, grieve, and to laugh when you recall good memories. I have my grandmother's and mom's purses still completely intact. When gma died, my mom put her purse away and never disassembled it. I did the same w/ my mom's. Took the $, cut the credit cards out but everything else is still intact. Mom always had the greatest stuff in her purse...I loved going into her purse when I was a kid. miss my mom! Laura, hope you luck has changed and you are going to KICK ASS in Vegas baby! I love the suit and hope that your leg is feeling better. Well, Sus is going to Phx today...to help her mom. She is taking the German girls. I am going to miss her...and am a bit scared in this big house. But some drama happened and she has to go. OK...xooxox

mmmmmm, a nap on a snowy afternoon w/ a little guy...PRICELESS! glad to hear the doc went well.
-
Good morning girls~ Haydee, I was thinking The Help too. I was reading the book, then got the Kindle and bought it for The Kindle. IT IS A GREAT READ. And Kindle books are so much cheaper  Also, The Glass Castle (you may have already read that). Right now I am reading Open, by Andre Agassi. If you are not a complete tennis fan, or an Andre fan, I wouldn't suggest it. I'd go online, to amazon, and search around there...then download to the Kindle...HAPPY READING. Michelle, you took the words out of my mouth. This and that hurts and I was thinking of going to the doc soon and getting a "once over". I haven't exercised in 2 months and really feel it. I have a freakin' eliptical in my bedroom...just need to get on it. Good luck. Feeling better...just hard to have company for a week, and especially if you can't communicate w/ them. They are great...but company for a week is tough. Thank goodness it is Thursday, since I woke up thinking it was Wed!!! Getting my do' done, then have this big meeting about the insurance changes coming next year. Then meeting Sus and the girls downtown for dinner and a walk about at the street fair. Long day,but after 2pm, it shouldn't be too tough. Laura said of FB that her hip hurt so bad she was going to the doc...hope all is well Laura...keep us posted! xooxoxoxxoxoxoxoxo

Hey Girlies~ busy busy today. Still have the company from Germany. They are lovely but if Sus walks out of the room I can't communicate, although I am getting better. Got a bad case of spring-itis...wanna get the hell out of here. I don't have any windows in my classroom, which just adds to the prison feel. Also, I am teaching CST (state testing) bootcamp during my prep period. I LOVE it cause I pulled my top kids...and I get to teach!!! Yesterday was idioms, metaphors and similies!!! Need to go on a freakin diet for the wedding...wwaaahhhh

yeah judy!!!

GGGRRR...kidding. I do feel a bit better. Listened to The Eagles on my way into work full blast, and it is a beautiful day! Wish I wasn't stuck in here w/ no windows. We are going to the Mac Lab for the next two periods and I brought my book! bbl

Hey Chickys~ Tired and cranky biotch is here...I won't go into now (might burst into tears) but I need to get out of my own way today for sure. At least I can come home early...not sure that is a good thing today either. pop in from work

Hey Girls~ I don't want to scare off Laura from the Violets 2011 trip to Palm Springs...but the quake was a roller!!! It was in Mex., but we rolled along w/ it. It lasted 45 seconds and my FIL puked. The water in the pool splashed and came out too. We are fine, Mex is like 2.5 hours away...but wowser. Off to work! yuckyuckkyuck!!! But I am recharged and ready to take on the day!!! After today we only have 47 more days!!! Not counting my 3 days off in TX. OMG HAYDEE...you look amazing. Why do we only get a sneak peak??? I WANT MORE!!! Hope everyone has a wonderful day. I gotta boogey in to work cause I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT I AM TEACHING TODAY...and that is driving me nuts! xoxoxoxo

Morning Girls~ Happy Easter! We are going to the cemetery then hanging around the house today. We've got a Honey Baked ham and will make some "extras" plus German noodles. We have company from Germany all week...pretty funny...what the hell are they saying? Needless to say, I've read a lot of my book. The Open, by Andre Agassi. IT IS FANTASTIC but I don't suggest it unless you are a tennis fan...tons of tennis lingo. I am enjoying it because it is like a conversation w/ him. Sadly, I've got 30 papers to grade today...so no reading for me :bored: Have a great day...enjoy your Easter treats and festivities. I am skipping mass...the priest said last week that the church fills to capacity (1600) and the fire marshal kicks ppl out. I need to find a new church! Have a great day! xooxox

Hey girls~ We made $854 dollars at the garage sale...then Sus found a dollar in her pocket. So, YEAH!! $855 for the morning, all the crap gone, and we were driving away by noon! Came home inhaled cold thin crust pizza and a diet coke, and PB'd, then showered and am checking the puter...YEAH! ok, tired!

Happy Friday Girls~ We went to see Melissa Etheridge last night...she was AMAZING! She has a new album coming out in April, and it is great!!! We saw her last year, and if she comes next yr. I'll see her again!! MIL comes today w/ our German company! It will be nice to see them again...makes it a bit hard since I don't understand what they are saying. MIL's boyfriend (of 25 years) speaks a little German so it is really just me "out of the loop"...I am reading a great book, so I guess I'll log some hours in this weekend. Plus the 30 papers trickling in. My back is still messed up...kinda worried. My hips ACHE so bad, shooting pains down my legs...blahblahblah. Tired of hearing myself complain. Everyone have a great day! xooxxoox

DRIVE BY POST...hope everyone is ok

YEAH JANE!!! So you are buying in TX? KIDDING...glad this is over for you. Susie, you are welcome and keep us posted! Judy, enjoy your "free time" w/o Ethan. Michelle, you are cute in any style...can't wait to see the RIGHT flowers! Laura, can't wait to see pix of Carson's first Easter. Wish I could pop over for his party too. Haydee, starting tomorrow, you can say I AM GETTING MARRIED NEXT MONTH!!! Can't wait to see you walk down the isle!! Our Easter plans are that Susanne's mom is coming on Friday w/ the two German gals we stayed w/ when we went to Germany. They are like 68 yrs old twins...funny and lovely, and I have no idea what the hell they are saying...but we laugh a lot together. The girls, Crystal and Edith, will be in the USA for a month...not sure how long they are going to be staying here. We are having our backyard 'scaped!!! We are putting in decorative rocks, removed three olive tress, and replaced them w/ Queen palms...which are Mediterranean palms. They are more weepy and sexy...me likey!!! I'll post pix at the end of the job, which may be today. Then tomorrow, we are buying and planting flowers in our big watering pots!! Other than that, we are meeting friends at 6 for drinks and appetizers here first. Oh yeah...we bought a new mattress yesterday!!!!! hmmmm, could that be why I haven't complained all post??? I THINK SO! My back is about 50% better, but I don't need a pain pill...sooo happy already! love you girls...I'll stop posting now. One more thing...omg, I made a KICK ASS DINNER last night. Sauce cooked from 2pm; wonderful Italian salad, garlic toast, and strawberries and angel food cakes...omg, it was great and the boys ATE A LOT!!! I like that...when the food gets eaten...they loved it!!! ok...off now!

Susie~ Here is my 2cents! First, I'd go in and ask for a general ed/ or special ed meeting. You said one teacher said she did her homework at school, which wasn't the case. You want to make sure that EVERYONE is on the same page. I'd request an IEP (Individual Educational Plan in CA, may be called something different where you are). You did say she has a "modified educational plan" which may be the same thing. You want to ensure that GOALS are clearly stated, see if she has met them over the time frame stated on the IEP. These are VERY SPECIFIC and goals, objectives (and how the objectives are measured; as in time frames etc) should be on this document. There should also be an annual review of her progress. Whether she is in the same school or not, this is fairly universal and will travel w/ the student cum file. Next, you need to know that retaining her again will not her get her to "grade level". Grade level is usually determined by some sore of assessment, so you may want to ask "how was her 3rd grade level determined?" This is important. Sometimes it is a stupid, 2demensional test on the computer, sometimes is from a fluency test of how many words/per min. she can read. Is this for LA (language arts)only or math as well. What is HER favorite subject. If she was retained again, she is just gonna be the "oldest" and will probably rebel in some other way. She should go to the next grade w/ her peers. I have 30 students in my morning class. I have 5 different spelling groups (spelling is the #1 way to determine reading level w/ an assessment I use). I mention this because my 6th graders are reading at 2nd and 3rd grade levels. IT IS UP TO ME TO MODIFY THE CURRICULUM TO MEET THE NEEDS OF THE STUDENT AND PROVIDE THEM WITH SUCCESSFUL OPPORTUNITIES. I need to "hit them where they live" not just present 6th grade material to my kids and expect EVERYONE to get it. It doesn't work that way. Call the meeting. Go in armed w/ some questions I've mentioned. She how the teachers are meeting her needs, assessing her abilities, and showing growth on WHAT assessments. KNOWLEDGE IS POWER...The more you know; the more you can help her. Is she in a modified classroom or mainstreamed into "regular ed"? PM me if you want my number to call me! Good luck and keep us posted! xoxoxoox

Hey Girls~ My back is so f&^*ed up...I took a pain pill before the sun was up. Not sure what I am gonna do. SSSAAAADDDD! I have to go to Home Depot today and buy flowers...I want to plant flowers in my watering pots today. Then I want to start the spaghetti sauce early in the crocker. We are having Rob and Charles over for dinner...OUR FIRST DINNER. I am excited to do this...wish I felt better. SSSAAAADDD! We have an eliptical machine in our new bedroom...looking out the window. I can't even use it cause of my back. I just hate waking up and crying as I am getting out of bed. I have to drive into PS today to see the doctor cause he was sick yesterday...now that I am thinking about it, maybe I don't want to see him, don't want to get sick. My plan was to buy and plant flowers, read my book, make sauce...and enjoy my day. We'll see what happens...maybe the pain pill will kick in. I think my entire post I've complained...sorry girls. Michelle, you really look great! Haydee, I AM SO 'CITED TO COME SEE YOU!!! With my rainbow boa and all:eek: Jane, I'd get a cute tax guy...that way you won't mind going in to see him. Judy, enjoy your day w/ Kris and Grady! Laura, is Carson ready for the Easter Bunny? Susie, we need a Gia update...we want to hear the good and bad. Heather, is Ayla ready for the Easter Bunny? It is always so great to see holidays through the eyes of children. Happy Tuesday!!!

Haha Jane...ju cracka me up!!

Buenos Dias Chicas~ AAHHHH....Life is good! Slept in until 5:30 this am (after a wonderfully juicy naughty dream), coffee w/ a beautiful sunrise...aahhhh! I think everyday should be a day off (19 years until retirement). We saw the movie Chloe yesterday. It was good and VERY SEXY! Today we've got 3 guys coming over to do this and that...alarm, roller shields, fix the washer button. Then off to Palm Springs (PS from here on out) to do a short laundry list of misc things. I need to go back to the doctor to get crack-a-lacked! My back is better, but it still kills me. We have a new couch and new bed...sooo I think that contributes to the problem. Gotta get used to it! I want to plant some flowers today or tomorrow in our big watering pots. Sus and I are already arguing over which ones to get. She should just let me do what I want...right? LOL! Jane, what time are "early meetings"? I'd tell 'em to have them on a Tuesday or a day when you are already there...it is not a day off if you have to go in. Michelle, how are the kids doing w/ it? What about DH? I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE YOU GIRLIES...NEED A VIOLET FIX FO' SHO'! OXOXOXXO
-
Thanks Laura...that was a ton of info. I want to get a fill in early April and will talk to my doc then. Your the best...thanks for taking a minute to 'splain it to me...you too Heather!

Mornin' Girls~ Michelle, I understand about NOT wanting to do anything. For my mom, there were 6 people and we saw the casket, then went across the street to put it in the ground. My bro and I invited two guys that my mom has known since we were all kids, Marc and Robert. Robert's mom died when he was 7 and Marc's mom died while my mom was sick. The rest of the 6 was me, bro, bro's gf, and the baby (4 weeks old). None of her friends were even told about it until after. It was what just felt right. For my dad's passing, there was no "service" but he was cremated and my step mom threw a HUGE party. A catered lunch for 150 people, and everyone drank Jack Daniels (dad's favorite), and there were macadamia nuts EVERYWHERE (dad's idea). We all got drunk and laughed, cried, shared stories and really partied like it was going out of style! Two complete opposites for the same event. Both were perfect...there are no rules. Thinking of you and your family. How is FIL doing? My heart breaks for him! Well, the first afternoon of break was wonderful! I read my book out by the pool, wearing pj's, then came in and took a nap! Just really relaxed. Today we are going to the commissary about an hour away. I am hoping to be home to go to mass at 4pm for Palm Sunday. I am going to a new church out here just to check it out. Then at 6 we are going out to dinner w/ our real estate agent!! My back is still killing me. I had a reaction to the electric stim machine and can't wear it:confused: had that, it felt soo good. Hopefully, I'll get to wear it a bit later today! Thanks Heather for the info. I should do some research but it helped having a friends input. I am very successful in every aspect of my life, except this weight loss thing! Work in progress! xoxoxoxo
