Ok, ladies and gents...I love that I have finally found the right thread. I posted this on the shrinking violets thread (my April 07 group), and didn't get the responses I was looking for. I actually told my doctor this, he said it was the first he'd ever heard of this. About 3 weeks, post op, Susanne and I had some "hot and steamy". Each orgasm felt great of course, but weird in the port site. As we continued, I was almost dreading the orgasms. After about 7 or 8 orgasms, I was dying...I finally had to hold up the white flag. It hurt for about 2 days after that. The pain was dull, but constant. This is the first time I've ever heard anyone else talk about discomfort w/ orgasms. Thanks for sharing...now I know that I am ok. This is a great thread. Thanks for letting me share, and sorry if this is TMI. Peace out family! -

Kat~the party sounds fun! When is it? Enjoy the ride. Damn, I forgot everything I've read. Good for you on walking Tracy...feels so good when it is over. I finished my college classes tonight!! That feels great. Now I only have 1 job! I swear I feel 10 pounds lighter...i wish. This weekend, Susanne and I are going to Phoenix to visit her mom. I am looking forward to the visit, but her mom makes some kick ass amazing German food (they moved to USA when Susanne was 20). I talked to her mom (my MIL for the thread) the other day, and she said, "I am looking forward to seeing you guys, I've got the oven preheating..." I will have to take many walks, between meals. I AM SO READY FOR MY FILL!!! Hope Judy's hubby is well. Terry~ When you say you feel it...can you really feel it? I know that is a stupid question, but can you? Or is it just the smoothie and the 45 min to drink it that you feel. You are gonna drop the weight now...congrats and keep us posted! Have a good night! -

Laura~ Your ring is georgous. Susanne and I just ordered our committment rings a month before surgery. I told the jewler about my pending surgery. I picked up the ring, and about 5 days later it was too big (gotta love that liquid diet). We returned and he put in a large 14K gold ring sizer. I hate that it covers up one vertical row of diamonds, but at least it fits. He said the ring sizer is best because if you keep getting it resized, it starts to lose integrity of the band. Anyway, if you go to a jewler and order a 14k gold one, you won't have the problems you mentioned. Congrats again! -

Terry~ Congrats on not missing a workout...amazing! Yes, I made it to the gym. The alarm went off at 4:45 and I said some bad words, got dressed and left. I have trainings today, so I had an extra hour. I could've slept in, but I did a full hour and 5 min. at the gym. And of course, I feel great! I am jealous your on your second fill. Let us know how it goes. Oh, and btw, I got 5 business cards of trainers from the gym. I like you idea of accountability, and financial committment. Do you go everyday? It will cost between 50-80$ a week, but I am willing to do it...just to get a strong start. Laura~ We are waiting to hear honey...299???? You've got purple power behind you, keep us posted. Michelle~ Surrender. We love you! Jennifer~ Congrats on your degree! That is huge! Lunasa~thanks for the big breasted bananas...they crack me up. I got a bunch of naughty smilies on another thread last night, you wouldn't believe the content of the thread either...it was juicy and made me laugh out loud! I want a food scale! How much do these things cost? Kat~ Don't forget "Your still the One" by Shania Twain...classic anniversay song, it makes me cry everytime. :think Have a great day Violets!!! Judy~ sending hubby Purple Power...and a speedy recovery! Let us know how it went! -

Kat~ Wow, you parents names are John and Jane Doe, that is cool, lol. I did this last year for my parents (dad and his wife) for their 30 year anniversary. The Luau is a great idea. My only suggestion, if you haven't heard this already would be to hit up orientaltradingco.com for lots of luau decorations at cheap prizes. Lei's, grass skirts, coconut bras, etc...but cheap and in bulk. Have fun...and enjoy your parents, I envy you. -
hahahahahah...very funny, thanks

Thanks for sharing Jennifer...i am eating way tooo much for sure. I'd be starving if I were you. I don't know why I got the sense that your nutritionist is not a pleasant person, lol (just kidding). Here is my daily food: *protein shake (4 oz of yougart, banana, 1 scoop of Unjury, frozen raspberries/blueberries/blackberries/strawberries and 1/3 cup of milk...love the magic bullet) *1/2 cup cottage cheese w/ 10 little tomatos (snack) *1/4 c. beans, 3 oz of chic or steak, w/ 13 ceddar *10 whole wheat crackers (snack) *turkey burger, fish, some protein source Compared to you...I feel like a pig. I am going to the gym in the morning. I think I will have to cut this food intake back after the fill...I have long days, and I am hungry most of the time. Anyway, good for you honey. We are sending you some purple power for you job search! -
Sorry guys, I don't know. But I have walked in your shoes...I just quit Feb. 14th w/ the patch. I had quit a few times before so it wasn't that bad. Smoking w/ the band can cause lots of trouble, although you'll read of many people who continue to smoke. I would really try to get my head around the smoking...why bother w/ the band (assuming your trying to lose weight for your health) if you are gonna keep smoking? I'd make up my mind to quit, pick a date in the very near future (2 weeks tops) and go buy the patch. Believe me, I know, I know. But maybe try to look at it this way...THIS IS THE BEST BEST BEST TIME TO QUIT! A new life w/ the band, new health, exercise, success. I always wished that nicotine and chocolate were good for you...

What I like most about exercising....
kity replied to TerriDoodle's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Me too, no LBT until my exercise is done. That would get me up and moving. I have a workout buddy, and she and I will be at the gym at 5am tomorrow. That is when I usually go, but have been too lazy lately. I worked out all the time preband, even did 100 crunches a day. I will let you know if I made it. I won't want to look like a fool and "not" go now, that I've posted it...so I guess I have to! -

What I like most about exercising....
kity replied to TerriDoodle's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
What I like most about exercising is the "high" I feel walking out of the gym, knowing that I did it! I once filled out this survey asking, "When do you feel most beautiful?" My response, "When I am walking OUT of the gym!" Great thread Terry, this is the last week of my second job!!! No more excuses! -
My brother and I saw it Sat. night and we took his 2 year old son. It was cute, he loved it. Funny story, at one quiet point in the movie, my brother opened the kid bag of skittles tha come w/ the kids meal. Then, he accidently spilled out all of the candy (during a really quiet point in the movie) we ALL listen as each candy hits the ground. As if that were not bad enough, he then says really loudly, "Ut oh, Pam Pam, we need more candy!" Everyone laughed. It was the best part of the movie!

If you want the band you need to surrender~ just surrender, take a deep breath, and relax. I know your scared, but you've done your homework, and you know you want this right? I did not let myself think about it. I would read the posts, and then get scared and run over to the before/after pic thread. Hell, I went through them again last night for about 2 hours. What you need to understand is that you are in control of what you put in your mouth. You will learn your limits. Look at Terry, she had one bad experience in weeks, and now she knows about bread. There are many people who have never PB'd, or slimed (lucky bastards). You've wanted this for a long time. Surrender to it now...only read positive threads (you already know the bad stuff)...meditate (started doing this this weekend as my psychologist reccommended, wonderful)...pray (if your so inclined)...take a deep breath. You can do this, we all "freaked out" too. I was in preop, talking to everyone and my partner. When they started to roll my bed towards the room, I burst out balling, not just crying but sobbing. I said, "keep rolling me, just ignore me." I was just so scared. Then I got my "happy shot" and the rest is history!!!:biggrin1: -

Rhonda, Great pic! This weekend was Pride in Long Beach too! We couldn't go because my partner had to work. You both look wonderful! I am in Bandster Hell, still at the -23# for a few weeks, but I haven't put any one either. I get my fill on 5-30, and can't wait! Your lucky your and your partner are banded together. Mine is fit and trim, just beautiful. I miss her so much, and I can't wait until Thursday! Anyway, it is great to put a face w/ the name. me and johnny.bmp -
Not that I am an expert in the gym, but I've had a trainer before. He said that is best to do alternating muscle groups every other day. Do at least 30 minutes of cardio a day, then alternate between upper and lower parts of the body every other day for weight training. Now if I could just listen to my own advice. Good luck w/ the workouts!

Laura, I want to read that book too. Is it on amazon? Is it worth it? Did you learn anything you didn't know, or did it just confirm what you've learned here? Oh yeah, on Tuesday night, could you PM the winner of Idol. I love that I have an "IN" on the east coast! If you don't mind. Thanks. -

Hey Everyone~ It is so nice to wake up and see how well everyone is doing. I am still at -23#, but hey, I'm not complaining. I went to doctor on Thursday and weighed myself. But I will take it. I said I wasn't going to buy any new clothes until late August, when I go back to work. But yesterday, I went to Walmart and bought some cheapy shorts for the summer. I started this journey at 28/30, and sometimes 30/32:faint: . Well I bought 22, 24 and 26's yesterday! One pair of 24's are wayyyy too tight, and I will take them back tomorrow. Another pair of 22's fit perfect...???? Anyway, I am glad. Now I need to take the tags off everything, put deep in the drawers and tell my partner, "Oh these, I've always had these, they are old." :what: Angie~ Your story about your DD was funny, maybe not to you, but was very funny to me. I am sorry that happened, and hope it is fixed soon. I loved loved loved Terry's idea about the dirt and flowers:biggrin1: . Judy, congrats on your new charm. My poor little charm is sooooo lonely. But soon I hope to get another one. Have a great day!!! -

Mdrai~ You can do this. I did a liquid diet for 10 days, then 2 days clear broth, w/ no cheats. There is a thread posted somewhere, I think called Liquid Diet Beware (something like that). Anyway, it is about a bandster whose roommate in the hospital cheated on her liquid diet and her liver did not shrink enough, and they decided once they were inside that they could not do the surgery. She was devastated, and had the incisions to remind her of the failure. Think how hard it was to get the date...you can do this. Some advice: No more movies until after. I could not go to movies or resturaunts. I even had the in laws here, and stayed home when they went out. I also requested that MIL did not cook at the house, it would be too hard! You've got the purple people behind you! -
K@t, SRA is a structured reading program. It was really popular in the 1970's, and provided comp. questions that went with each reading selection. But, this is most important...SRA COULD MEAN SOMETHING TOTALLY NEW NOW...IT COULD STAND FOR SO MANY THINGS, SO DON'T TAKE MY INPUT FOR 100% FACT. Good luck in your endeavors. My Master's is in Ed. Admin, and my doctorate is in Organizational Leadership
