rho z~I plan on sleeping, working out, relaxing, doing homework (trying to finish my doctorate degree), I have 1 week of school (doctorate) and 1 week of vacation (turning 40 in Vegas then off to Tahoe to go sailing and see my dad). My fill update, I posted yesterday that I was torn if I should get a fill or not tomorrow. Well, I half way chickened out. Me leaving on my prep period was very risky...we are not really allowed to go anywhere on our preps (especially for personal business) so I was going to sneak. I decided to wait and reschedule my appointment. At first they were like, the next opening we have is the 27th of June. I was a little pissed, and said, "you've bumped me 2 times, and now this is the soonest date?" Then they said, "oh, how about June 8th?" There it is, June 8th...set in stone. The doctor goes on vacation after that (like I am his last appointment), so I hope it is ok. He does have someone to help in emergencies. Anyway, there it is, June 8... Until then I will have to behave. Mostly:)

Kat, Love the saga...very entertaining. I have bone spurs in both heels, it freakin hurts so bad. I have had them a year now. My next step is surgery, but told the doc I wanted to wait until after 1 year of weight loss...then we'll talk. Anyway, that is my bone spur story. Have a great one!

Hi violets! I had 4 pages to catch up on. Hope everyone had a fun weekend. We got in from Phoenix and went out to get pedi's today. Our feet are beautiul! I ate so freakin much. My MIL is German and a wonderful cook, shnitzel, German potato salad, German noodles, and goulash...ooooomy, and the deserts. Feeling really fat...but we had fun. I had my first bread since 3-21...german bread that tastes like a pretzel...gawd is it good. I am having a bit of a problem making up my mind. I am scheduled to get my fill Wed. at 10:30am. This is my prep period and I have to be back to work at 11:45. I have about 4 big days in the next few weeks. These days involved lots of food, celebrations, and more food, one of which is all day at Knotts Berry Farm. I can only get the fill on Wed at that time, or the Wed. after school gets out. I don't know if I should reschedule my appointment. I don't the "fat girl" to be chickening out, worrying about what to eat at Knotts Berry Farm (it is a 13 hour day for me), and the end of the year party, etc. I want to band to work...hell I paid 6300 for this baby. Lastly, is the window I have open enough time to get a fill? Will I feel sick after? I have to teach that afternoon, and have a big important meeting wed. afternoon too. ANYWAY...I just rambled and rambled...if anyone can figure out the afore cryptic paragraph...feel free to chime in...SHOULD I GET MY FILL WED. OR WAIT UNTIL AFTER SCHOOL GETS OUT. Hello Family~ I am home from my trip to Phoenix to visit MIL. I hope everyone had a great, fun and safe holiday weekend! I ate too much this weekend...AAAHHH...and now feel so fat. Hope everyone did well!

Michelle~ Keep up your attitude! You've got amazing support behind you! We love you and can't wait for you to be "one of the cool kids!" I remember sitting in preop talking to nurses, doctors, partner, etc. and thinking about my violet sistas...haha, funny, but true. In many ways your among friends that know you better than many loved ones! We are off to Phoenix this weekend! It will be great to get away! I hope everyone has a safe, fun filled weekend. I can't post a pic of DP because of her job in the military. But she looks just like Ellen, and actually had a number of people ask if it was Ellen. She to the taping of the "Ellen in the Park" show 2 weeks ago, and everyone was going crazy at first thinking she was Ellen! Like Ellen would stand in line to see her own show, but acutually, that is something she might do! Anyway, she is a cutie! I had the pleasure of testing out the "old stomach muscles" last night, and I am happy to report...all is well. We are off to Phoenix today to visit MIL and relax!!! Have a great weekend...be careful (I can't help it, I am an Italian woman)...wear your seat belts. Eddie, enjoy the "shakedown cruise". Wonder if DP could handle a rig like that???? Hi, I am a week out and not filled yet, but wanted to share what my surgeon said about fills. He said, "I fill you until you have complete restriction, and can't even get water down, then I back off just a little bit." He said that this is full proof way and doesn't waste the patients time in finding the "sweet spot". In all my time here at LBT, I have never heard of this approach. Does anyone else have a surgeon/doctor who fills this way? Any thoughts?

Top of the morning to ya Violets!!! I am having such a skinny day...I look great! It is red/white/and blue day (spirit week). I bought s few new things at Wallyworld last week, a red top and blue shorts. They were a little snug, but I thought, oh well, they'll fit soon. They fit today and they look cute, and my tummy is looking flat! That has always been my bad area, I am just having a great day. You know those, "skinny days". Gotta love 'em. Hope everyone is doing well, and having great days too!

Mini~ I teach ELD at the middle school, and ESL at the junior college. It is tough, but I love it. I also run meetings for the Spanish speaking parents, ELAC, to get/keep them involved! We are all are just counting down now...12 more days, then the entire summer off!!!

I love Splenda...and they still are using it. I bought 2000 from Costco last year, and am not sure if they still sell it, because I still have some from last year. That would suck. What is Stevia?

Should I be embarrassed???? You know how it is w/ girl/girl sex...it goes on and on. Like I said, it was a 3 hour quickie. Anyway, I know the girls over here know what I am talking about. So much sex you can't walk sometimes. (LOVE IT) Speaking of which, my honey comes home tomorrow!!!!! I am so excited! My principal added this meeting, so when I tried to change my appointment, they said, there were no openings until 6-6! I died...I don't want to wait. So, I work about 3 blocks from the surgeon and will run there on my prep period (I get an hour 1/2 off everyday from 10:30-12, includes lunch). I am not thrilled, but did not want to wait. Just don't want to feel rushed. Ready for this one, today one of my 8th grade girls came up to me and shocked me w/ a buzzer. It hurt. You gotta love middle school teachers this time of year...the kids SUCK...no other way to put it. I love 'em, but they make you want to drink at 8am...what a day. No wonder I sleep like a baby! Sorry, no, I live in Palm Springs, CA...but things are pretty expensive here. I pay extra for ironing, $2 an item, because that will change each week. Look around. The best peice of advice I can give: Do not hire people you can't/don't trust. The first few times, I was home w/ her. It was uncomfortable, as I literally lifted my feet as she vaccuumed under them. She was one of my students aunts. Ask your friends who they use. She doesn't speak much English, I speak a little Spanish. But after 3 times, I felt I could trust her. Mess and clutter is very unhealthy. I've been there friends, too embarrassed to open the door when someone knocked. Now, I can breath, my home is my sanctuary...I love to come home. As for all the shit we gather in our life's journeys...PURGE PEOPLE...PURGE. Last year, I had a "free garage sale". Everything I put out was free. It was cathartic and liberating...this was really crap, stuff that I could've got a quarter or dollar for at a sale. This year, we had another garage sale, and made $800.00!!! But to get rid of the junk will lift you up. It holds us down and holds us back. I have a glass cabinent, and all "special" things go there. I speak w/ experience, I am honestly trying to help. I've been there, and I know what your going through.

Very interesting. I had to live in a mess for 8 years, long long story. It was so mentally unhealthy as well as physically. We were sick all the time. Now, I have not had a cold or flu since Dec. 05! I remodeled my house, and hired a cleaning lady. I pay $50/week and it is the best money I've ever spent. She does everything I ask her to do. I've had her 3 1/2 years, and completely trust her. She comes when I am at work. Aside from laying $200.00 on the counter, I never interact w/ her...and my house is always spotless! But, I have 2 (3 in the fall) jobs and am also finishing my dissertation. I can clean my house (I have a 3 bedroom, 2000 sq.ft. house, and I live alone most days), but I don't want to. Some of my friends have their lady come 2x a month, usually about 75$. To me, it makes perfect sense. Why clean a toilet if you don't have to. I know to some, it may seem like I am being indulgent...but why not. It is so nice on Thursdays, walking in to a fresh clean house, clean sheets, dishes, laundy, ironing, and those wonderful lines on the carpet...aaahhhh, and all I have to do is go to LBT!!! GET A MAID...IT WILL FREE YOUR MIND!

Juli~You know, I thought they were thinking I was lying. Straight women, unless they are completely multiple don't usually have that many(you know lesbians have 3 hour quickies:biggrin1: :biggrin1: ). Anyway, that is why when I read the thread, I was like, "oooo, this is where that should be posted". My doctor said the same thing. He blushed and said, "I've never heard of that"...it was pretty funny actually. I was banded on 4-3, and will get my first fill 5-30. I had a slight infection at the port incision...it just didn't close well, so I had to take antibiotics for 10 days. I am going to my MIL's house this weekend. She makes some kick ass German food. I could've gotten a fill tomorrow, but decided to wait until after the trip! A friend on the shrinking violet thread said she got her second fill yesterday and felt it! What about you guys? Denise~I ate too much today too. AGAIN...What the f*&^...I can't believe myself. I did work out for 65 minutes, but then ate ate ate. Tomorrow, I can't workout, so it am not overeating (I hope).
