Thanks Judy!!! So, am I right...1 c. of turkey sauce = 320 cal? I don't think onion or garlic have any cal. I think I am doing this correctly...but you never know. Thanks for checking on this for me. I know that w/ just a cup of the stuff...I am pleasantly full, had lots of protien and enjoyed a warm dinner. Since Susanne LOVES spaghetti, it is nice to make us both happy! xoxoxoxox

Can anyone tell me how many calories 1/2 c. of ground turkey =? (sorry kat for the naughty ?). I made some spaghetti sauce again w/ ground turkey for dinner and lunch this week. I only add onion, minced garlic and prego mushroom sauce (120 cal for 1/2 cup.). I can't find the calories for turkey (and honestly, don't have time to do it now). If someone can look it up on some site they use all the time and let me know, I'd appreciate it! xoxoxoxoxoxo

Hey Peeps~ I know most of you are sleeping. We've had a long crazy day. Susanne and I drove an hour to have the BMW serviced. She was quoted 700+ for the oil change, break fluid stuff, etc changed in Palm Springs; but was quoted 500ish in Riverside an hour away. Her appointment was @1pm, so we drove 40 min. back to Palm Springs (from our friends house), then 1 hour to Riverside. We had an omelet breakfast at our friends house. So we were werent quite ready for lunch before the appointment. Well, (long story not that short) we bought a new BMW and left there at 7pm freakin starvin!!! The car is gorgeous, but the hamburger (w/o bread) and the garden salad from Denny's was the bomb!! I don't remember EVER being that hungry. The guy was explaining the navigation system and setting our bluetooths (or is the blueteeth) for our phones and all I could think of was "where did I see Denny's again???" So...we will be reading the manual. We had sooo much fun at our friends last night. We drank 3 bottles of wine, ate great Cuban food (I was really good, only shredded beef and black beans) and we played Scattegories and Monopoly!!! Susanne and I got to soak in their HUGE tub!! It was a great night. That is what life is about. Family, friends, food, good times...great wine! We all commented on how we felt truly blessed (this morning, not last night in our wine fog)! No jets:(...but I swear, it was nice just to relax...look out the window...and take a deep breath! Gonna go to sleep soon, once Susanne stops smiling! Susanne and I are going to a friends house (another les couple that we socialize with often). They just bought a 3200 sq. ft. house brand new and it is beautiful!!! Susanne and I are bringging a couple bottles of wine (we bought at the wine tasting a few weeks ago) and are gonna spend the night. The best part, and what I've looked forward to all day, is that Susanne and I are gonna take a bath at their house. They have this huge gorgeous tub. We all had a victory today w/ this. Sleep well sweet sista. Susanne is sleeping in the recliner next to me as I type this. We were up so early. I didn't make it to my class this evening...had a meeting until 5:30, was gonna leave early, but I was too tired to go. So I've made it to 3 this week...I'll take it. Those are hard work outs. I may be able to go Saturday. We are going to our friends (another couple) house. They just bought a 3200 sq. ft. house...just beautiful and brand new. We are bring some wine and Susanne and I are gonna take a bath together in their huge tub. (Starting to think I may have already typed this a few days ago...if so, skip ahead). Anyway, if we get home, I may go to class. I too am soooo excited for our trip. I can't wait to meet everyone. I've dreamt about a few of you. Been to Kat and Judy's house in my dreams. I have other cheats here and there. Today went to a meeting called Pizza and Pedagogy. I had a piece of pizza...well, I scraped off all the cheese and toppings, and had a small salad too. I had 0% of the bread...but felt like I was "part of the group" and wasn't missing out on anything. Yeah, greasy cheese and toppings are not eating like a good bandster, but I also am living life! Speaking of the little bastards, did I tell you what happened yesterday? There were 2 fights during the passing period between 5th and 6th and then between 6th and 7th, there was a huge fight. The girls were running and started a mob of kids running in the hall, and an aide (disabled and uses a walker, and is about 80 pounds dripping wet) gets pushed to the ground and gets trampled. Then the bastards kept trampling her and laughing. I am talking about 100 kids and me and one other teacher doing crowd control. I wonder why I am so bitter at the end of the day. This has really been a rough year. Mind you these are the 8th graders mainly...they are huge. Meanwhile, back at the ranch, one of my students told me I need to go to my happy place today. Buenos Dias Hermanas de Violetas~ I am not too sure if that is correct...but hey, I try! I've been up since 3:45 this am. Susanne is off to Fort Irwin today and had to be showered and in full uniform and out the door by 5. It is gonna be a lonnnnnng day. I wanted to comment on the "skinny" compliment thing. I love love love it when someone says, "hey skinny" or the like. However, the bullshit someone said to Haydee "pretty under all you fat" would piss me off sideways. Chuck you Farley! I don't mind the word skinny. Yesterday in Jazz class, I said, "ok, I am skinny, can I go home now..." to which he replied, "hell no, go get your weights!" Anywho, I think it is personal. What I remember is that I didn't do this for anyone else but me. This is my journey, I need to own it. I don't use other people to validate me in any way. Although I am terribly sensitive and get hurt easy, I "cowgirl up" pretty quickly and have a sharp tongue. Bite me...I'll bite back harder (I'm Italian...take no shit from anyone). By the way, look at the saying under my avitar! As far as funks...we are all in good company. This is my place, my Violets! Kat said, in some ways you all (or ya'll for my southern sistas) know more than anyone else. I take solace in my relationships w/ you guys. Funks, or victories...we are in it for the long haul. Where the hell is Sara? Ok, got a long day. Leaving at 7 and wont be home til 6:30 (but yes, I am going to jazzercise class)! My body is totally changing I can feel things lifting! I am gonna weigh myself tomorrow instead of Sat. We are going to a friends house Fri night and sleeping over. Our friends (another couple) just bought a huge house and closed last week. I too can be a Varuka Salt (sp)...I WANT IT AND I WANT IT NOW!!! I want to lose this weight...but it is a journey. I am a slow loser (just 30 to date), but I've never been healthier in my life. I quit smoking (yeah me), haven't had fast food or a soda of ANY kind since March 21. I am doing Jazzercise (kicks my ass and I love it) as often as possible. I'm about 3 sizes down. I feel great about myself. So, yeah, I love my band. It will happen! And yes, I sometimes eat something naughty! Hey, it took me 39 years to put this weight on...should take me a while to lose it! Heads up...cheer up...go back and read some good threads...we will get there. AT OUR OWN PACE. THIS IS NOT A RACE! Back to bad (good) 70's music... Hey Violets~ Well, I must say, my dog sure love my band. Another dinner he got to eat, as I stood over the sink and slimed and PB'd. Man, I was hungry too. Made some hot tea, and gonna do a protien bar later. Terry~ What the hell did you just say? I was almost following them whamo...I lost you. I am not sure if I can follow it. But I love the idea. How does it feel/fit w/ you work clothes? I would so already have it if it weren't so expensive. Or should I say, I would spend the money if I knew I could committ to it! TracyK~ Quitting smoking is the BEST gift you can give yourself. I am not kidding...I LOVED my ciggy's. But, now, I know I can't go back. Take my advice...buy yourself a new purse. Once you quit smoking, your purse will totally stink. I used to put my purse in my desk drawer at work (I still do). But this summer on vaca, I bought a beautiful leather (and expensive) purse. Now that I've put in into the same drawer (where my stinky purse used to go), it has somehow made my new one smell too:(. Long story long...you will need a new purse. Remember, if you fail...quit again the next day. Don't say, 'oh, next monday..." just do it. You'll be able to work out so much better/harder and will love how your hair smells at the end of the day. (I am a total smell person, love love love perfume and smelling good). Keep us posted on progress! Where the hell has Sara and Denise been? Got a nice compliment on my bracelet.
