:Dancing_wub::laugh::Dancing_wub::smile2::Banane41: Maybe it is just cause it is 5:30am...I can't find the birthday smilies?? Anyway...I like the pink dancing girl! Happy Birthday Tracy! I am glad you all had a celebration weekend and hope you enjoy your day...and year! Got a super busy day today...but I am getting my hair done and that is great! Won't be able to work out again today:mad:...hopefully tomorrow. Susanne left today @ 1am and did not call when she arrived.:frown: Since she should've arrived home about 3am, she would sleep until 6am...so I can not call her because I don't want to wake her. But I am worried about her and she better be ok, or I will kick her butt. I am Italian and worry like an old Jewish mother...oy! xoxoxoxo

I think our friendship/relationship is more than weight loss. Yes, that was the catalyst for how we got to where we are, but it is only a part of what each of us bring to the table. There is something special about the Violets. It is scary "out there". There are too many toxic people, and honestly, many of the toxic people I am talking about are the regulars (not talking about Chickie). So here we are...friends...life long friends with so many ups and downs (and I am not talking about the scale). I know weight loss brought it together...but I refuse to believe that is all we have to offer each other. Ok...fast forward 5 years, and we are all at goal (Oh God please, just kidding)...will we not have anything else in common? I hope we will. I love you all (and no, not only the skinny biotches in the group, lol). Not sure about this yet, my dissertation chair called me today and she wants to me finish. I pretty much quit...but she was not hearing of it. Not sure what I am gonna do yet...but I burst into tears on the phone w/ her (yeah, that is professional). So, my mind has been toooooo busy since the phone call. :crying:

Hey All, we are back! I think it is a lot farther than 2 miles 1 way. The first leg was all up hill...wowser! Then we ate a great breakfast (scramble eggs w/ mush. onion, spinach, avocado...2 glasses of tea). Walking home was quicker, down hill, but we were full, lol! Thanks Kat for your kind words. You are right...we need to eat. It just seems weird to do it like that...but we had a great time and will probably do it again. The first leg, I was 1 song in and my damn Ipod froze??? Never did that before. Susanne offered hers to me or even to share, but I can't listen to her music when I am trying to get my "walk on". So, pout pout...I had to walk sans music. I was rocking out to Red Hot Chili Peppers...then whamo. Terry~I totally agree w/ you. I think it is a combination of both. We always set the "what can I do about it" scenarios up (speaking for myself) and then sabotage or fail. The "what" is as important as the "why"...but I just feel the "why" will hold us back in many aspects of our lives if we don't get a hold of it. I don't know...too much Oprah perhaps:confused2:. But your absolutley right, the "what" is what moves us forward. Gotta go do some erands. BBL!

OMG...tracyk...i didnt forget about you...you look smoking skinny!!! You look happy, healthy...and glowing!!!

Laura, I know what you mean...seeing a doc about food? WTF...and frankly, I was embarrassed to admit many of my secrets (when actually, I wear them on my ass and everyone knows already). I love what Michelle is doing, just can't/won't/don't (incert excuse here) do it for myself. Food addictions are not less critical or important than any other addiciton. And once we get our head around that concept, we can work towards those strategies to get through. I want to mention that even though I am seeing someone, I have lost the least of all of us. But I am working on myself for life, and am very proud with what I've done this past year. I love working out and have been quite depressed the last couple weeks not being able to do it. Quitting smoking after 25 years is huge...and I still lost 30 pounds. So, take my advice/opinion at just that...my 2 cents. We are going to walk to our favorite resturaunt...which is 2 miles away. Then we'll have breakfast and walk back. So 4 mile walk..and food! Now how F'd up is that??? LOL Have a great day!
-
Laura~ This is just my opinion. I have lost the least from our group, so take it for what it is worth. Also quit smoking too (and as you know, that is hard). Here goes: Until you (all of us) find out the "why" we eat the way we eat...we will always eat that way (or want to). You all know I am seeing a psychiatrist and he helps me get to the why of my food addictions. It is not enough to say "I am gonna do good today"...and that may be enough for some (lucky bastards). But for many of US, w/ weight issues...it is not enough. If you "binge" or go on food vacations...you have not figured out your "why". Again...this is my opinion. For resources on what I am talking about, look for information from Bob Greene (Oprah's guy). Food addiction is just that, an addiction. As w/ drugs or alcohol, we (most of us...not all) will be addicts for life. We will just figure out our "why"...and develop strategies that will help us in our day to day interactions. Again, this is just my opinion. Also, you might want to take a walk to get the endorphins you are getting from the candy. Lastly, I am not judging you...I do it too. And I love you! Oh yeah, tell your hubby that your food intake...is off the table for discussion...it just makes you feel like shit. You know what your doing. (unless you want him to take into account your food...but why would you want to feel like shit all the time). Happy 3rd day off! To those who have it! Susie~My step sister went to UCSB, and my dear friend did from school. I've been and I LOVED IT. It is about 3 hours away, but when I can I'll make the trip! xoxoxoxo Gotta go find a quote of the day!

Tracy~Thanks for mentioning me in your video blog! I am famous! That is too cool, Robbie is too cute, and it was GREAT to hear your voice! Kat~Feel better! TracyK~Welcome home...we want the G rated version. Judy~I don't know how you do 40 min on the eliptical???That machine really hurts the body. Susanne can do 30 min, that is a hard machine. Gina~We are gonna just sit on the property for a few years. 29 Palms is a small Marine base town...but it is growing, and they are gonna build a huge casino next year. We are looking for other pieces of land to buy as well. My brother is a realtor so I am in good hands! We walked a bit over 2 miles today, then went out to Breakfast, lol! Then we took the drive and it was just beautiful today! Low 70's, blue sky (sorry for all my freezing violets, just wanna share). I need to grade 6 more papers. Susanne is starting a book called Duma Key by Stephen King. Have a nice night! xoxoxoxo

Me...you forgot me:sad_smile:! Just kidding! (but you did forget me)~ Guten Morgen Violets~ We are up and are sore! Poor Susanne worked the hardest yesterday...I just worked and complained a whole bunch. That being said, I am sore...so I know she is double hurting! We are gonna relax a bit. I need to go up to 29 Palms today to look at a piece of land my brother and I are trying to buy (we put an offer in on Friday), but that is an hour away, so we'll do that later. Perhaps we can go to the movies later too! Gina~ I eat pasta but usually need to cut it into small bites. I only eat capallini (sp) (angel hair) because I can't "do" think pasta. Plus...I have mainly sauce! Kat~ How is the tooth? Judy~Enjoy your "day off" and stay off the roads. Ice is so scary. Terry~ Sounds like you had a great day. My heart stopped when you wrote about the care at the fancy place. I KNOW WHAT YOU ARE GOING THROUGH! Hang tough. We had to hire private duty nurses to stay w/ grandpa AT the fancy places because the care was nearly as shitty as the other places. Hang tough and call me if you want to vent!xoxoxox Janie~ Got any water pills? One and a ton of water and you'll be down in no time. Everyone else...have a great day! Michelle~I need you to get me on track. I was VERY impressed w/ how well you organized yourself. I need you!!!

Popping in~ Wowser...what a day. We went on the walk and came back and have been working our butts off since 8:30am. We moved all the stuff into the garage, all the stuff we had to move to the back patio so Closet World could come in. We hadn't showered or brushed our teeth even...we can barely walk. So we opened up some champagne and are going to sit down to spaghetti and whole grain pasta! I am sure we will be dozing about 7pm. Everyone have a great night! Kat, I think you need ice cream! xoxoxo
-
WOWOWOWser! Judy...just beautiful! What I always notice is how happy everyones "after" pix look. Michelle~when you find your mojo...can you ask it where the hell mine is? Then send it back over here. Actually, I just told Sus, "Go put your sweats on...we are going for a walk." To which she replied, "God, bossy boss...can you ask any nicer?" I need to go for a walk and get some frest air I guess...what a bitchy thing to say, huh? BBL

Yeah...Laura's back! Sounds like you had a blast! Busy around here...everyone have a great weekend!

Hey V's~ Denise~ Congrats!!! Party @ your house! Thanks for the compliments...everyone:biggrin:! Kat~Glad your feeling better...enjoy this time w/ Rick! TracyKS~Hope you bounce back soon too! Hey, as long as we are all well and healthy in May! Judy~ Thanks for the cutest ecard! Your so sweet and thoughtful! The Bobster is a keeper for sure...I hope you enjoy your evening! Jenn~WooHoo. Glad you had a kick ass day and even got lucky too! I hope, after the sex, you told him, "You gotta go now...I've got shit to do!" Now that is empowering:cool2: Michelle~Your pix look great! You really look wonderful, you and kids look so happy! I want you to adopt me:biggrin2: Terry~ Happy VD sista! Susie~ I hope your keeping your feet up! Thanks again for the VD card...I loved it! OK...are you sitting down??? It was 80 degrees here on Monday and today...it snowed! It hasn't snowed in decades...I remember once in the 80's. It did not stick...and it was honestly unexpected (you know how reliable those weathermen are). You should have seen all the desert children looking up to the sky, as they walked around in shorts and t-shirts. Well, had conferences until 7pm...but Susanne came and visited me! She was in full uniform...soooo beautiful! She brought me Panda Express and we had a nice visit! Now we are home, in our pjs watching Survivor. TracyK~OMG...you and Macy look great, yeah, she is not related to you at all, huh? Have you been watching BB? I've been meaning to ask you for days now. Do you have Showtime? That is sooo cool...already so much drama...love it. I already hate Parker (acting like a prima donna bitch). Any thoughts? Laura~ Happy VD! You home? How was the big apple? xoxoxo to everyone else! Gotta go play scrabble since I missed out this am. Along w/ the lack of electricity...no internet. Getting taxes done tomorrow! Can't wait to see the outcome for that. Have a nice night! xoxoxoxooxox

I took this pic for Susanne and thought I'd share w/ ya'll! I look tired, but I wanted to send her a Valentine of me!
-
Good Morning V's~ Late start here...woke up w/ no electricity @ 5:40. 40 min. late in the am is huge. The electricity came right on when I awoke, but I hit the ground running this morning. Because it is Parent/teacher conferences...I MUST look good, hahaha. Michelle~glad your back. We really missed you and couldn't wait to hear the story! Laura~Aren't you back today. Gotta run. I'll be back later!
-
Terri~ I am due for a long nap is all. I have not exercised for 2 weeks, and that alone makes me feel shitty. I am still having my "forever period" this month...going the last week in Feb. I need Iron supps...should make an appt. for a fill, and a B12 shot...I'll set one up tomorrow. Hadn't even thought of it until I started writing this post...lol, thanks.
-
Hey Vi's~ I tried a few times to get on today from work, and the site kept freezing and stopping. Glad everyone is okay...whew, I hate not being to reach ya'll. Susie~ Thanks for my cute cute Valentine. Tracy and Macy~ That is gonna be a Mom/Daughter picture for you both to share for the rest of your lives...beautiful. Gonna go play scrab and unwind. I am very tightly wound the last few days.

Holy Smokes, I couldn't find where to type last night, and thought the same thing this morning. I've been so bad on personals, I am sorry for that guys. I always pop in from work, read quick and then forget what to write. Denise~Love the houses. The one backyard looks like a nice place for the grandbabies to come over and go swimming. Tracy~Enjoy your romantic weekend! 5 years is a long time....congrats! Kat~I loved the story about your son...how wonderful for your entire family...enjoy his visit. And as far as falling apart...I hear ya. Hey, fall apart next week:wink: Haydee~I agree w/ Terry...they make helmets in so many colors these days. LOL, what a great NSV. Janie~Feel better soon. i can't remember anything else...although I know there is plenty I am missing. Today is parent/teacher conferences. And so is tomorrow...until 7pm. Susanne will be here, but we will not have major plans. We decided no gifts, just cards. Since we just had our anniversary last week. I bought her a pair of Oakley sunglasses and she bought me a beautiful leather bag! We don't need to spend anymore money. Thats all from this corner of the world. Was planning on working out today, but knees still hurt and a friend of my mine had gastric bypass yesterday so I'll take her flowers instead! She will be at hospital until tomorrow! Have a great day! xoxoxoxooxoxox

OK...where the hell is Michelle? Thats right, I said it. MICKEY...WE WANT MICHELLE BACK! Did I miss something...I thought this was a weekend trip only! Jenn~ Any news??? Jeanie~ I hope you've caught up on all the posts...there will be a quiz later. Off to grade some tests...uuggg...I hope this is not a reflection of my teaching, haha
-
Popping in to say hi!~ Welcome Jeanie...good for you! I walked into a nasty note from the sub on how bad my kids were...duh...no shit...you agreed to sub for middle school, and YOUR SURPRISED THEY ARE BAD! Who is the idiot. I am sorry, but I missed the little stinkers and now I have to be "mean and grumpy" to them because they were bad. I just wanted to enjoy the day! The next 2 days we have parent/teacher conferences...should be interesting.. Gotta run!

Good Morning Violets~ We came home last night after a long day of driving and misc. appts! 330 miles total, plus all the driving on the base...Sus's eyes were shot. It was a great day though, beautiful and I was with my favorite person. It was 81 here yesterday and they are calling for a repeat! I remember when I was in high school, we would ALWAYS start laying out in Feb. I remember ditching on Valentine's Day (a couple years) and laying out for our dates later that night. Those were the days...now I don't do the sun for long periods of time. Want to keep my skin fresh! hahaha Well, after being off work for the past 6 days I have to go back. I am excited to see the little charobs, but am scared of what I am walking into. Subs always leave my room a mess...the kids were bad...blahblahblah! I am glad to see the kids! Have a great day everyone!

Lawbebe~ It depends. I was soooo tight over Thanksgiving and Christmas. I literally PB'd through Christmas infront of my MIL. I went to the doctor and had .4 cc's out. For me, that worked. I will need a slight fill in a few weeks, but this has been good restriction. There is no "magic formula"...just what is right for individuals. Enjoy the unfill. I know Terridoodle had 1cc taken out and was soooo happy with that.

Welcome Kelly! You've come to the right place. Although I am from CA, there are plently of people from Texas that can help. Also, look into area groups and chat with the people from Texas. I agree with your hubby...research everything and arm yourself with information. Good luck and welcome to LBT!
-
Hi Trish~ In my experience...every state, doctor, clinic, insurance...everyone is different. Some doctors require certain pre-req's, insurance companies require certain pre-req's as well. My advice to to contact your insurance company and doctor and follow exactly what they suggest. Also, browse LapBandTalk (LBT) to learn how other people survived the process! Lastly, welcome! :smile2:
