Hey All~ Well Susanne's friend just came and picked her up! I am so lucky cause I didn't have to drive 4 hours. It was sooo nice to have her home. She was sick (vomitting this morning) and in sooo much pain. I don't know what to do for her and it makes me sooooo sad. She goes back tomorrow and then has to get through the week. They didn't even give her antibiotics, and she needs some. Good luck Jenn~ Sick or not...you are going to your new job! You've got lots of Purple Power w/ you!!! Watching some Big Brother now. I cheat and go to BB Chatter and get the updates before the shows. Only go there if you wanna peak, lol. Have a great night! I am completely freakin swamped. One semester ends today, and the next starts tomorrow. And as much as I have to do...I keep coming back to LBT to my violets!

TracyK~WooHoo on the new car! I got my Toyota Highlander a week after being banded...and I love it! I won't want a new car for a long while:biggrin2:. Michelle~Susanne hasn't read the book in a week. She left it hear last weekend and then w/ the pain meds can't get "into it" this weekend. She'll work on it here and there, and then on a trip or something, she'll get into it! Book is too dang big for me, lol...it is a heavy sucker. Janie~Never heard of Avenue Q, but from Michelle's description, I am intrigued. I am wayyyyy behind on grading...was lazy w/ Susanne today. I made baked salmon w/ lemon and dill...it was sooo yummy! Have a great night. Has Jenn checked in in a day or two??? Kat, I gotta see the cowboots!

Good Morning Violets~ Susanne is on the couch...feet elevated above her heart and has been here all night. She got some sleep here and there. I missed her last night:redface:. But she is not sick anymore. She has just moved onto my pain meds from surgery and her motrin (I told her about the midol). Susie~Your story reminded me of MANY experiences in hospitals. During the time I took care of mom (8 years) I also took care of her father (7 years) and managed his private duty nurses (what a freakin nightmare). Anyway, one time, I was in hospital w/ grandpa and I told this bitch nurse that he needed to go to the bathroom (BM). She says to him ( a Col. in the Marine Corps) "Are you sure you have to BM...I am gooing on break?" She reluctantly put him on the potty and left him there. I helped him finish his business and was trying to get him in the bed and ended up pullin his foley cath out!!! I left him in bed (he was only wearing a shirt and no pants of any kind because of shingles) he was balled up, head where the feet should go, etc. I went into the hallway of this 5 star hospital (It is called Eisenhower...one of the best in the country) and I started screaming, "I'm calling the f'ing (said the word) editor!!!! You guys are horrible and I am going to tell everyone who will listen who terrible you people are!!" I was screaming this. I started crying. Grandpa was saying, "Don't cry Pammy...it is ok" I said, "no it is not...there have been no doctors or nurses in here all day." After I was in the hallway and at the nurses station screaming, EVERYONE was in that room. I told the head doctor that NO ONE had been in the room all day. That if I weren't there, grandpa wouldn't have eaten. That the care was completely shitty, in appropriate, and UNACCEPTABLE. Needless to say, the remainder of his stay was lovely! I seriously had a nervous breakdown right there in front of everyone! They were very glad to see us go...until the next time (I was there A LOT!). Anyway, I am gonna go watch a movie w/ Schatzy! I think I wanna get real cowgirl boots in Texas. Susanne and I might go to el Paso this summer to see her dad's grave. So I might wait...but knowing me...probably not. I am a bit like Varuca Salt... (the character, not the band) I WANT IT...AND I WANT IT NOW! I am jazzed for our trip. I'll be in San Jose in a week and a half...then next trip is Texas!

Oh yeah...Denise, I love the Dash video. Right after my mom died, my brother went to a funeral of someone he worked with. Someone got up and read a poem about the dash...how that is the most important part of the headstone. That was really lovely to see it like that...thanks! How are the bumps growing? Hey Guys~ Terry~ So good to hear that update! And I am glad you got out to do "regular" stuff too! Laura~Your eggplant sounds yummy! I cook, but don't know how to do it well. You always prepare such yummy foods. Kat~What does the soda and pineapple do? I've heard another bandster talk about pineapple juice working like draino??? I have been having a 7up or Sprite from time to time. I know it is bad, but I am nauseated in the morning and a diet 7up really helps settle my tummy. My poor Susanne...she had ingrown toenails removed on both sides of both toes today!!!!Can you say :thumbup::omg_smile: She had a friend drive her to Palm Springs (113 miles) and the friend took off and went right back to Orange County. She can't walk, and took 2 pain pills, then some of my stuff from the surgery...and you know what comes next...yep, puked. I changed her bandages and OMG...wowowowow. I feel so bad for her. We had plans w/ friends tonight, a party tomorrow @ 2pm and then dinner and drinks w/ different friends tomorrow. We canceled the dinners both nights, and will drive the gift by the party (a male couple are celebrating their new home AND the adoption of their beautiful little girl...her name is Roxy). I went and rented a bunch of movies and will hang out and take care of my girl. I felt so bad...she was crying from the pain. Her friend is coming back on Sunday to get her! I'll make us all a nice dinner, then we'll watch the Oscars, and they will leave Monday @4am. So...thats our weekend! Judy~Happy Sails! Enjoy the heat! It is gonna be 81 on Wednesday here. We will probably start Spring on Wed. Having a garage sale next Sat and it is supposed to be really nice! Anyone wanna come and visit? xoxoxoxoxoxooxoxoxoxox

Hey Girlies~ Kids are watching a video on plate tectonics and I jump on here...lol! Haydee- you look cute! Sorry your not feeling well. As far as jewlery, here is my suggestion. Go to any nice store (department) like Gottschalks, Macy's, etc. Every jewlery counter (fine jewlery) has a small "on clearance" section. I always start there and find great stuff...cheap too. They are still "upscale" and nice products, but discontinued for whatever reason. Also, you can see, touch, feel the product. You can make sure the linkage is what you want, the gold quality,etc. Just my opinion. I confirmed my appt! They said they called but the number was disconnected. Are you ready for this...they still had our old area code 619...not the newer one 760. Are you kidding me??? We only changed aread codes in like 1998 or something...and THEY CHANGED TOO! What freakin idiots...and I have no patience for them today. But I am glad I get to see my doctor! OH yeah, a NSV of sorts...My new "skinnier" pants are too big. I can barely wear them...but I will for the rest of the "winter season". We are going to be 81 next week, so I might only get a few days w/ these pants. I am a bit bummed...I spent 160bucks on 3 pair of pants...and only 1 still fit. Oh well, I'll quit complaining now. Have a nice afternoon!

Morning Violets~ I am supposed to go to doctor today, but have a feeling I don't have an appt because they never called to confirm. This is going to be the 2nd time this happened. Keep your fingers crossed...I want to see my doctor damn it! The knees survived the workout! I was worried...No Squats! Terry~Keep us posted...we are all here for you! TracyK~BB is pretty good...huh? I am watching last nights show now. Wish I had more time. That is why I love it in the summer. I am not working and can totally engross myself in it! I don't even have time to watch the regular shows...let alone the showtime stuff (that is the good stuff)! Kat~Sorry about your tooth. Hey Shadow, I'd imagine that if you ask 5 different people, you'd get 5 different answers...but I'll give it a go. Pre-op diets are done for a variety of reasons...and not every doctor requires it. Primarily, it is vital to lose a bit of weight before surgery, shrink your stomach, and give the doctor the room needed to perform the surgery. Secondly, preop diets help shrink your liver, which helps with the surgery. Also, doctors require preop diets to ensure the patient is ready to really modify their eating habits. Mine, for example, was a liquid preop diet for 10 days. If I failed at that, I would probably not been a good candidate for weight loss surgery. Good luck to you!

Read, pray, eat, call a violet...whatever it takes to get through this. Purple Power for you and your mom's health. Keep us posted! Well, I went to dance class again. It has been 2 weeks and I missed it. I moved very gingerly w/ my knees, but still got a great workout. I am supposed to FINALLY see my doctor tomorrow (primary) and just realized they did not call and confirm...which means they will probably cancel on me. I wonder if the doctors know what biotches are running their practice. I am gonna blow a freakin gasket if they try that again. Gotta go do work stuff. I am swamped...I am every spring.
