I have been trying to get my primary doctor to refer to a specialist but she refuses. I am 267 pounds I am 5'3 and diabetic. I have not been successful in losing weight on my own because i cannot control my portions. My doctor says that i could do it but i find it incredibly hard. She says that she will not refer me because my AIC levels are extremely high "9" to go through any surgery. And that she believes the surgery has so many bad side effects that she does not want me to get it what should i do?
