Halloween (Oct. 31) - What will you Weigh?
Caliblonde replied to LilMissDiva Irene's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm down 24 pounds, only 1 pound away from my Halloween goal! I have a week, I think I can do it. I've been in a stall for the past month, so it's been very frustrating, but the scale is finally moving again and I'm on track to meet my goal! -

Need Urgent Advice regarding my Sleeve!
Caliblonde replied to Beautiful Life's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My surgeon told me that it would probably take me 2 years to lose all of the weight that I wanted to lose. Since you're only 20-25 pounds away from goal, you're in the home stretch and it can take a really long time to get those last few pounds off. Maybe you should try to go back to basics. As Tiffykins would say "just because you can eat it doesn't mean you should". Since your tummy isn't giving as much restriction as it did in the beginning you have to put the brakes on yourself. Also, even though you're not losing weight, I have to point out that you're not gaining weight!! That's a huge success -

I lost a lot of weight up front and now I'm in a stall. My plan is to up the exercise and watch my protein intake to get to my goal! -
10 days out....greek yogurt...did i goof? lol
Caliblonde replied to Mr.Mike's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
I like the Yoplait greek yogurt pretty well, also Lucerne (store brand) greek yogurt is good. -
Potatoes are high in potassium and 170 calories seems great to me!

I don't see it being 24 g of protein, however, the carbs might be correct if you don't eat the crackers or the chocolate that come with it. Both of those things are added into the nutrition information.

How to take bad tasting medicine?
Caliblonde replied to hirskobrn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had to take liquid potassium for a few days when I was about 8 weeks out. I was gagging on every single sip. I ended up using low sugar grape juice as a chaser and that seemed to cleanse my palate of the nasty taste. It might work for pills. -
I wouldn't have chosen to go there because it's ridiculous with the teeny tiny amount of food I can eat. My friends daughter wanted to go so that's where we went. Initially the cashier gave me a hard time and wanted to see a card. I don't have a card from my surgeon so I just spoke to the manager and told her about my surgery, she said it was totally fine.

I honestly haven't worried at all about using regular versus sugar free/low fat/fat free. I actually switched from skim milk to 1% because when I looked at the Protein 1% has more protein than skim. I use regular mayo/miracle whip just not much of it. I eat whatever cheese I happen to buy - sometimes regular sometimes 2%. I try to stay away from sugar in general, and I use equal mostly. I will eat sweets on very rare occasions. I don't really pay too much attention to my caloric intake at all because I know I'm not eating anywhere close to 1000 calories per day. Once my food intake starts creeping up I'll pay a little more attention just to make sure I'm not overdoing it.

Slow Start Post Surgery
Caliblonde replied to Murf71's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Don't sweat it at all. Your body just went through a major trauma and it's holding on to everything. The weight will start dropping off over time. -
Post OP clear diet help!!!!
Caliblonde replied to sleever4life's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
I was allowed protein shakes when I went home as well. There are some clear liquid protein options out there...might be worth looking into so that you can at least get a few calories. Fortunately, right after surgery most people are not hungry AT ALL. I had to make myself a little data sheet to keep track of the number of ounces I was drinking to make sure I got enough. I put 30 boxes on a piece of paper and checked them off after I finished each ounce of liquid. Right after surgery don't worry about calories, just make sure you're getting at least 30 ounces of liquid and you'll be good to go. -
This I Know for Sure . . .

I absolutely love this post! Thanks for putting a smile on my face -
I went to Souplantation/Sweet Tomatoes with a friend a couple of weeks ago and it was great because they let me pay for the kids portion ($5). I only got a tiny salad and a bowl of soup but at least they didn't make me pay for the adult plate.

Congratulations! You're doing fantastic!!
-
Yay! Congratulations on getting your appointments scheduled. We'll be keeping our fingers crossed that all goes well with insurance!

I take the Costco adult gummies and was told that was fine by my surgeon. I tried the Flintstones complete but they made me throw up so I had to switch. I also tried the Centrum adult gummies, but they made me sick as well.

Post-Op Tips For Your Spouse/Significant Other
Caliblonde replied to Sleevie WonderLand's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My biggest advice would be get some small plates and small bowls. My mom bought me some really pretty ones to eat off of and I use them daily. My husband is totally the food police with me. He constantly asks what I can eat and if I'm getting enough or if he notices that I put too much on my plate he'll ask if I'm sure I can eat that much. It used to make me so mad when he would police me before surgery, now it doesn't bother me at all because he's usually right. My husband does most of the cooking now which has been so helpful for me. In the beginning he did all the heavy lifting because I couldn't. He also did all the shopping and was very diligent about making sure I had things that I could eat. Overall, he's been my biggest cheerleader. -
Weight loss, Stall, Weight loss, Stall, Weight loss, Stall
Caliblonde replied to exoticheart's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm the same way. I lose quite a bit then it stops and I hover for a week or two then I start dropping again. I think sometimes the body needs to catch up with the weight loss and then once it's comfortable that I'm not starving to death it let's me start losing again. -
I'm doing the same thing Raine. I would have this surgery again in a heartbeat!

I can cross my legs again! First time in over 5 years. I'm beyond thrilled!!
