Hey July 27th Sleevers!!!
AutumnBlueCarmen replied to Sheila's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm way down in Houston. I moved here a year ago exactly. And it is HOT AND HUMID! I came from Fayetteville AR and that was not far from OK, but on a diff. corner than you are from. Because I am hot all the time...I need to be able to comfortably wear sleeveless tops. My husband is a skinny a$$! Always has been. He is 6'1" and is currently at his highest weight of like 165 now because he is entering his mid 40's. But I've had to live with him most of our 18 years together with him being 135 and me mostly being around 190 and now at 230. I HATE being bigger than my husband. Girls are supposed to be small and be able to swim in their mans clothes. I keep up with him pretty well...but I don't like to do it. He wants me to bicycle with him and I feel so self conscious being a FAT girl on top of a skinny bike. Will be happy to be thin and bike with him. I can't even imagine how great I would feel about 100 lbs less. I would think I would feel as light as air!!! Can't wait!!!! -
So happy for you Nancy! Glad you are on the other side and relatively comfortable! Sending you healing vibes! Take care of yourself!

Hey July 27th Sleevers!!!
AutumnBlueCarmen replied to Sheila's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hey Sheila, I'm not the 27th...but 2 days after. Our board is so quiet . I'm feeling the same as you. All my thoughts are turned to the future and fitting into old clothes I love and having smaller arms to wear all the cute little summer dresses they sell down here in Texas. Not worrying about what people think about me as I start school to become a Vet Tech. Feeling comfortable in my scrubs and not feeling like the cow I'm treating looks better. I know I'm not cuter than the dogs and cats . I am prepared to be sick for weeks after and not being able to eat normal for over a month. If it goes better than that...then I will be very pleasantly surprised. If the doctor called and asked if I could switch to this Friday...I would be ALL OVER THAT!!! Waiting for my turn IS THE HARDEST THING!!!!! As far as getting ready....I've started drinking a few shakes to easy me into the diet I will start on Friday. I'm just trying my hardest to occupy my thoughts...so I don't FREAK OUT!!!!! Maybe the next two weeks go fast for us!!!! -

Good luck July 12 sleevers!
AutumnBlueCarmen replied to Nancy Rivers's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Good luck Nancy and everyone! WOOOHOOO!!! Go get up Firecrackers!!!!!! Will be thinking of you all tomorrow and hope all goes well for everyone! -
It is all normal. I've had lots of surgeries in my life. Ruptured Appendix, gall bladder, 2 c sections, various TTC surgeries, and it still makes me nervous. Things change when you have little ones around. I was never nervous about surgery until I had little ones to worry about. Thinking about the post op diet makes me nervous too, but I know I am not, probably not ever, going to change my diet on my own. This is my way of forcing myself to change. It is something I really really want! It is just way to easy to overeat or grab food. You can do it! Try going for a nice long walk, maybe at night if it is hot where you are.....deep breathing meditating.....go see a movie...movies always take me away from everything. Good luck sweetie....we are going to be happier on the other side!

New time & potentially a new problem
AutumnBlueCarmen replied to Nancy Rivers's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I know it is easy to say, but drink lots of room temp water, chew gum and brush your teeth. You will be so full of water that you won't want to eat. You can do this Nancy!!!! You are strong! One step at a time! You are almost there! Deep Breaths! ((hugs)) -
Good luck July 11 sleevers!

I'm systematically working my way through this week up to my preop diet starting supposed to be on July 15. I'm actually going to start a day or two early because I have my 38th Birthday bash out with my girlfriend on Friday night (the day I'm supposed to start). I imagine I will be very bad that night...as in lots of calories from various drinks etc. Will also be cutting back on my soda intake a little each day. Anyway...no planned meal...but am paying attention to my favorite things as I've been eating them this last week or so. Friday night will be my big goodbye to overindulgence. Will probably have early birthday cake this week too. I don't plan on saying bye to anything really forever except soda of any type. I want to be done with the soda forever!

9 days! REALLY!!! WOW...that is going to go so fast! I have a feeling this month is going to go really fast! I'll be cheering you and everyone before me until my day at the end of the month. I'm so excited for everyone and I feel like we will all be good friends in a few months. I love the support we all have for each other. None of the bickering that I've found on other post boards about silly things. I'm counting down with you MLD!!!

Too drastic a step for BMI of 31?
AutumnBlueCarmen replied to Eyemallrt's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I say go for it! I wish I would have had this tool and would have done it much younger and much lighter than I am now. Good luck to you and good luck making your decision! -
Some advice from a new sleever
AutumnBlueCarmen replied to notsochubbybritneyspears's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sounds nice! I want one. I had a morphine pump with one of my c sections and I healed so quickly. my second c section I was only allowed ibuprofen and was in lots of pain...I think it really put off my healing process. I really really really think it has a lot to do with tensing up your muscles and being afraid of pain. My dr with my second c section was a B!!!!! -
pre-op diet so far 4 days
AutumnBlueCarmen replied to myezzence's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
9 and 6 lbs is AMAZING!!!! You girls are doing a great job! Keep it up...I have 7 days until I start my pre op diet! Good luck! Hope the days pass fast and you are not too hungry! -
Now I'm feeling the stress!
AutumnBlueCarmen replied to donbie's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Donbie, It is hard not to go crazy! I have been very stressed through this whole process. I just wish I were on the other side. I have UHC and at least for me...they were very quick...less than a week getting my approval mailed back to me. Then my office manager/ surgery scheduler was out of the office all this week and I finally got my date today. I hope you will hear fast. Just try your best to distract yourself with things you like to do, and stay busy, and walking is always good for stress. Good luck to you...keep us updated!
