Lauraj23, Where do you live? I dont think we have one here in CO. It sounds good though. After your surgery your finance can have the soup and you get the juice! Your right where is the justice! But -- it is worth it! He will stay "squishy" and we will have buns of steel! Hooray! -
My surgery is seven days and a wake up call away! I can’t stand it, this seems like being pregnant and waiting for that baby to come… the minutes pass so slowly. Anyway, I got the money which is GREAT news. I will pay on Friday at my pre-op appointment and then it will be even more real. I started my pre-op diet yesterday which is low carb high protein. Lucky me I didn’t have to do the dreadful liquid diet before hand. Yesterday I ate, Atkins Shake, four deviled eggs, chef salad dipped my fork in the dressing, chicken with mushrooms, asparagus and salad for dinner. So far today I have had my Atkins shake, and two deviled eggs. Brought a can of tuna and salad for lunch:hungry: . I am posting it here so I can look back in a year and see my struggles, and my progress. I think this will keep me accountable. If you are reading this keep your fingers crossed for me. I just can’t wait to enter……….. BANDLAND.:clap2:

I want to bask in the weight loss; daydream that it could be me. This thread is moving so fast I can't keep up. I love it all, the good, bad and ugly it really helps us to prepare for what is to come. Thanks everyone who has been banded and keeps us updated. I am day 2 of my low carb diet. I am doing well, no cheats I can say proudly (even if it is only day 2:rolleyes: ) Yesterday I had my Atkins shake for breakfast, around 900 I had a couple left over deviled eggs, lunch was a great chef salad and i dipped my fork in the dressing, dinner chicken with mushrooms, asparagus, and salad. The family even enjoyed the meal.:hungry: So far today, two deviled eggs and my Atkins shake. I am feeling a little hungry but will stay strong. 7 days and a wake up until my band date (but who is counting). <O:p</O:p -

Hi everyone, <O:p</O:p I have been out of the net for a few days. TracyinKS... what is going on:cry ? Are you ok? I had to go back and find your post because I was worried when I read everyone commenting to you. We are just like family on here . Anyway you did it -- you passed up that chicken which wouldn't have tasted good anyway! I have had many days like yours. I have four girls one is getting ready to turn 20 and lives with her BF who I don't like... I really did make an effort BUT! The others are 15 (and she is such a teen, all mouth :embarassed:) 12, and 8. So I have locked myself away plenty of times. Just make sure you let us know how you are doing. Yesterday was my last day to eat... started pre-op today... (HORAY:clap2: ) I am happy it was Easter and I did get to eat a lot of good things:hungry: . My pre-op is not as bad as some; I am on low carb/high protein until surgery. Only 8 days to go!! My DH eats everything in sight so I know how it feels to have tempting foods around and how hard it can be to "JUST SAY NO". Our source of bonding has been food and he has sabotaged just about every diet I have tried :angry . I hope that he finally understands this is a lifestyle change for me. I packed up most of the leftovers and all the stuff that really temps me (Red Velvet cake) and sent it to work with him. Hopefully, I cleaned out the cabinets enough to see me through these next 8 days.... everyone keep me in yours prayers! One other great note, I have been stressing on getting all the money together for my surgery by Friday (April 13, selfpay) and guess what... checked my bank this morning and all of it was there. The transfer must have gone through Sat. Yippee. There is nothing stopping me now. I feel like I can take a breath, this is really going to happen! :faint: Thank you to everyone who has been banded and keeps us updated it is so reassuring. -

I guess I understand. When I told my husband that I was considering the surgery he didn’t really say much at first either. He goes back and forth from being happy for me one minute to making rude comments the next. The other day he told me that if I didn't eat two bowls of cereal for breakfast I would not need to spend all our money on WLS. He does say some really rude things but I don’t care. When I came back from the doctors with my surgery date, he said "I can't believe you scheduled the surgery" I thought you would wait until we were more prepared... OMG!!! How do you get more prepared? I think he was hoping I would put it off for awhile which would lead to NEVER getting it done. So you are not alone! Remember we are doing this for ourselves. To feel good about ourselves, to get healthy for us! Don’t let a big jerk make you feel bad. -

I am having all kinds of insurance problems because I am doing the lap band as a self pay, and another surgery that the insurance will pay for. I was under the impression that the cost would be less by having both surgeries done at the same time. Now I find out that it is not true. I could go in today and have the band and next week for the hernia surgery and it would be the same price as doing them both together. I found out that I have to pay $15,200 and am seriously having second thoughts about the lap band. I have been freaking out for a few days now. My date is scheduled for April 17th to have the lap band and the hernia repair. Is anyone else having to self pay for the lap band, and if so is my figure in the right ballpark? Thanks for any help!! I look through that thread and I know I am doing the right thing! Is there anyone who has said negative comments about your weight before? If so think of them and hang tuff, and most importantly think of your new healthy, happy life that is just around the corner. Here is a story about a lady I work with that is why i said that comment about anyone saying anything about your weight. I walk a few times a week at lunch with this gal, she is the type of person that is always talking about someone else, she is never happy, and she knows everything. Anyway the other day she came into my office to wait for me to put my tennis shoes on and saw a picture that I have hanging on my bulletin board it was of me and my two bosses on my 30th birthday... 8 years ago. Good grief! Well she said was that picture taken when you were taking all those diet pills? I said what? When, and no it was not. She then said well that does not even look like you anymore. I was like ok, thanks. I mean what do you say to that? What a hag. So I decided that when I start losing I am going to give all my larger size cloths to her:heh: . How do you think she will feel then? Mean isn't it, but I have too, she always has something rude to say. Sweet victory will be mine! :welldoneclap: Anyway hang in there! -
That makes me sad. Your right is sounds so wonderful. Maybe their life together was just as wonderful and towards the end he feared being alone. I hate to make excuses for him. Maybe he was a cheater all along and she stayed with him, like so many women do, for the security.

I am just wondering if the affair was started before she was the nurse or after! Did Mrs. P know about the affair?

It is her neck. She really does not have one. I also think it is a shame how she never came forward as so many other celebrities have done. Why support her when she did not support us? By keeping it a secret she is basically telling the overweight community she is ashamed of how she saved herself. That is how I see it. Funny how one question about her started all this ruckus! <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

the jumpstart phase works, as I've already lost 28lbs, but it did not work after I had my son. I hve the diet guiedlines somewhere, I'll grab them and post it if you would like. I would not pay the money, they require you to eat a ton of food - healthy food - but a lot, so i don't think you could do it after the band. But a good guideline I guess. **************** Jenn, Yes, please post for me if you find it. What about all the supplements? Aren't there bars and drinks you have to have? What is the jumpstart phase? Maybe I could start on that. It makes me laugh that you said "they require you to eat a ton of food, and we can't eat that with the band" <---- I can not wait for that day:clap2: ! When I went to Metabolic I thought I would starve to death at first:angry ! -

It was like reading a novel. I would come to work and any free time I have, I am on this webpage reading the next post and the next bit of advice... I am addicted to you and Tina! Your love affair reminds me of the movie The Notebook. Has anyone seen that movie? It is my favorite. Anyway, I have read these posts for three days and have not posted because I HAD to see how it turned out. Like all the other folks posting you have really been in my thoughts. You have a lot of people out here in cyberland pulling for you and for Tina. :clap2: Now that we have completed one hurdle on your journey, (Tina home and happy) you need to keep us all posted on the others. Angie

Full o' kooks who are spaced out a bit due to lack of nourishment! Hi there! I love it here. I am originally from CA but only go back a couple times a year to see family. I do miss the year round warm weather of CA. I'd love to live at the Broadmoor as well!! But going to eat at the hotel from time to time is ok with me. You must have spent some time here to know all about the Springs? I live right outside the Springs (out East) in a town called Falcon. We have three horses and needed property so we moved out there. Now everyone is moving out there. We are expecting to get 8000 soldiers relocating from Ft Hood before June. That is fine with me... go property value!
