Thanks so much.........

We were just at Disney and Universal in Fl. in Oct. 2006. I am currently a size 22-24 (depending on the brand) and I have a vary wide back load if you get my meaning....I also have a good side "pouch" hanging in the front and I was able to get into everyride I wanted to go onto...I am a big ride person...love rides!!! Some rides took a bit of manuvering to get into but I managed. My biggest complaint was the lake of leg room.....funny as big as I feel I am I always seemed to manage to chew on my knees in the rides and that was my main discomfort. But one thing was I made up my mind before we went that this was a trip of a life time with my family and I was going to have fun no matter what....I didn't look back and didn't care what people thought when they saw me....I was out to have fun and I/we did!!!!

Hi, I am from Breckenridge, MN and have attended the seminar at MeritCare in Fargo, ND. I will be seeing Dr. Monson on May 15th. I have not heard from anyone that has been to him personally. But I do know that his staff has been really great...I am one with thousands of questions and they have been very understanding with each and everyone of them. Good luck to you!!

I am kinda frutstrated ......seems like this whole procedure is taking so long. 1/22/06: Informational meeting 2/16/07: took the phsyc test 3/30/07 meet with the phsyc dr. and went over test results...today 4/11/07 received a phone call my Dr. (surgeon) consultation is 5/15/07 and then they will submit into ins..and if I am approved I am looking at a surgery date of sometime in August:faint: .....Does it usually take 7-8 months from start to finish? I must of had different "visions" because I was thinking 4-5 months....I just hope my insurance approves this because after having my heart and mind set I really don't want to deal with not being able to do this. I know there is not set rule but I am just wondering how long others have had to wait....:cry Thanks....

Well I just received a phone call for my consultation with Dr. Monson....May 15th....Yes that is correct MAY 15th..........a whole month away:faint: ...I asked that if everything goes ok when I could expect surgery date....in August!!!!!!!!! Not the news I wanted to hear........That will be 7 months from my informational meeting to my surgery date...just didn't think it would take so long.....:cry

Well another holiday has come and gone. We didn't do much. Family went out and ate. I was on a nieces website...she had her camera at the resturant. While capturing all the older kids at her table I could see me in the background...ugh!!! I can't believe at how large I have become...if I really thought about this situation I could easily become depressed. I hope I get approved for this surgery. I hope that I am able to follow it and become a new me. I want this so bad and now......I can't even think of what it will be like if I do not get approved....:think

I am also waiting for my " new life" to begin. And I have my fingers crossed that my ins. will approve. I agree that each person can only decide for themselves whether they share this info or not. I have choosen to tell only my husband and sister. Maybe afterwards my children will find out but for me it is better not to stress them with the thought of my surgery. And as for work.....I am in an a work situation that it is hard enough to get through then normal days without my co-workers knowing this about me. I am hard enough on myself and do not need the extra stress and judgement from them...Each person has to decide what is best for them.

This has nothing to do with lapbanding but how do you put your tickerfactory counter on. I have gone to that website and did mine but I dont know how to get it onto my site. And the same goes for wannabethins dates she has has on hers.....Sorry if this is a dumb question but this one has stumped me... Thanks

Congrats to both of you.....I am still waiting for my doctor consult and ins. approval...I can only hope that if/when I finally get my "new life" I feel as good as you two sound like you do.....What an inspiration....I will keep watching for posts from both of you for updates.

Just reading and I also have BCBSND...I went to the informational meeting at MeritCare on 1/22/07. I then took the physc test on 2/16/07. Then on 3/30/07 went back to Fargo, ND to go over my physc test. Now I am waiting for MeritCare to call me to schedule a consultation appt. with Dr. Monson. I assumed that since the coordinator for MeritCare/Dr. Monson has all my past medical records that they should have an idea if I would be accepted or denied by my ins. Maybe I am wrong to assume this. Maybe a lot depends on which plan a person has through BCBSND..I don't know. I am also wondering if there is something that I should be doing in the meantime while I am waiting to even meet with the dr.?

Still don't know what I am suppose to be doing before this if anything. I read others that see diaticians before but I have not been told to do any of this....somewhat confused.

I have my first informational meeting on the lap band process on Monday 1/22. Just wondering what I can expect. Thank you....

I will be attending my meeting in Fargo, ND with a Dr. associated with MeritCare. Again, this is just the first informational meeting...I still have to get approved by my ins.
