I don;t know where you work- but if you shut him down once- that should be enough!!! the reality is men dont like "fat girls" OMg! sorry she thinks that way... I buy shoes for comfort not price or look... (not that women are to be used like shoes) I dated several gals back in the day- I first looked at personality... second... I wanted fun, third... someone that would back me... Hmmm- did I bring a tape measure to my date? a scale? NOPE! btw I married a real pretty gal.... now that she has lost over 130# I am in shock... she is smaller than when we met... I am lucky.. I have a smart, personable, well liked, and a cute wife...

Hi- that recipe makes my mouth Water... too bad I am on softs still Pre-op, I came up with a Baked "fried" chicken recipe. for those that are interested in no added fats... I also used bonless/skinless thigh meat. I take fat free Italian dressing and marinate the chicken for a few hours or overnight. then take the soaked chicken and bread it with seasoned bread crumbs- I used Panko. pat both sides until coated well- shake off excess. you can use the bag trick... lay out in dish, one layer and bake at 350* about 40 minutes- it will turn a nice golden brown. I also did this with a telepia,

Friends told me to slow down :(
chef neil replied to 300PoundsDown's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi- only you know how much YOU should be doing... don't let the lil voices in your head slow you down! you can do more than YOU think.... as far as people and good intentions, smile. I had a person in my 14 week group tell me I'm loosing too much weight too fast... (that is why I am there?) and I exercise too much... according to my magnificent Dr. I was doing everything right... (lol- did he know I drank some wine?) She told the class she hadn't lost any weight and she was on pre-op diet... obviously she has issues... Why do people try to sabotage ??? congrats on your walking... our teacher in class suggested that same thing, 2 houses each day- we worked up to 3 miles per. total of 70 miles walked pre -op. now- it's back to the grind- need to walk... -

Benefibre I have been using that on the pre-op diet, going from a vegan, mostly greens to pre-op really messed me up. my poor wife does everything... that is her only problem. I lucked out, my love for prunes, even now- I can have 1 and chew it, and it goes down... don't understand that, 1 prune and I'm ok... 3 mini bites of a meatball, and I'm stuffed to the gills... SF = Sugar free. -
How to eat at McDonald's after the sleeve....
chef neil replied to Coookies's topic in Food and Nutrition
besides the fact that the food is frozen, it is deep fried. you are getting more calories from the fat than the food- and at that high of heat, the nutrients you so need are ruined! I personally pass, stay away- that stuff is addicting and I have shook that addiction, Carry a apple sauce, a ind. cheese stick, an apple.... something... Honestly- if your stranded at McD's... there is a store near by... Grab a Yogurt.... If you keep on doing what you've always done, you'll keep on getting what you've always got. -

That recipe looks good- however, I would replace margarine with a healthier oil... I do like the added spinach and onion. If you like mushrooms- as well- not for any other reason than- It is a known fact, I can get you links... cooked onion, spinach and mushrooms, together are in fact a very high anti cancer food combo. a lil update on my spinning world- went to the local WLS meeting, was dizzy during my introduction, however it went away, came home and ate some cottage cheese with salsa... fell asleep for 3 hours... awoke and was feeling GreaT! figured out I was lacking Water, started drinking... my wife came home- we went out for dinner- I tried a meatball with lots of sauce- three bites... done. later I had 2 oz. of SF frozen yogurt. I am hoping tomorrow my stamina improves. I will be staying on the soft foods longer... hoping the dizziness has gone... -
Congrats!!!

sounds perfect for when I do get real foods... that would make a great bento box meal. for the ones that eat pickles- a quick and easy way to pickle things you like... save THAT juice and jar... like jalapenos? slice jalapenos and put them in jar with juice- cover and enjoy. (I also add the grape tomatoes and a few thin slices of carrot) ALSO that watermelon rind... don't toss it away... cut it up and put it in the pickle juice, 2 days is all that is needed... I leave some pink flesh. you may add a clove of garlic and a pinch of chili flakes... that has got to be my fav. snack... and I just learned about this 6 weeks ago...

chef neil replied to notsochubbybritneyspears's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It's happening as we type... don't blink, there goes some -right now! there is no rhyme or reason... I did nothing yesterday, and lost a pound, a week ago I walked 2 miles on top of swimming (light water aerobics) and lost nothing for two days... next day I lost two pounds... I was lucky, the first 5 days from surgery I lost 13# - so as I was adjusting to post op- visitors could see... their attitude helped me... -
ou have to wait!?!? That's it, I'm not doing it now! LOL you still have 4 days to make good...

Will my stomach ever stop hurting?
chef neil replied to MenagerieNik's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi- Try drinking warm or room temp drinks. plain water was the worst for me, and still is, however zero drinks, vitamin water or alike I can get down. I drink them diluted. still not cold, just room temp. I also could drink hot stuff easier, lucky me I go for the decaf latte, every so often... I'm back to stage II foods, stage III didn't go so well. -

Are you my Brother? at 3+ weeks out... I am having some issues with foods on stage III, so I went back to stage II... You know those 4 oz. apple sauces I can't eat that whole thing... I try, I hate wasting that last bite... it just won't go down... when I tried stage III foods it was three bites, no more or It was coming up- my stomach is inflamed a bit. I get hungry, and I get dizzy... then there is evening hunger. WhY? every commercial on TV is about food! Olive garden and red lobster I hate! Look at the blog "the world according to egg face" She makes Bento boxes for lunch... they are awesome! ok everything she does is awesome! But these bentos speak to me... variety, creativity, flavors, portability... and yes- they will fill you up.

1 week out, paranoid about sleeve stretching
chef neil replied to luvbugz's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi- first take a deep breath- breath and enjoy life... now- make your lists... lay out your vits daily or weekly... done... make a list of meals B-L-D. post on fridge... done...\ the thing I found is some days I can gulp Water, no prob- next day not so good... so take it slow... while you are rehabilitating, is the time to get organized, clean out cupboards etc. make your house clean- eating wise. now plan a time to exercise... the way it works is how you work the program... like any program, you have to make the effort. you are "all in" on this- now that 85% of your stomach is removed... the game is to make sure you become healthier, by following the program. I have had a coupla speed bumps in my road -3 weeks out... my first move is to get over them... mainly eating... it's a physical problem - I still went out and enjoyed live music tonight and the sunset. now my spoon of cottage cheese and a spoon of yogurt are going to be consumed. Good Luck! -
8 weeks post op and exhausted
chef neil replied to EJStorm's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't have the answer for ya- sorry- I can sympathize though... Doc just gave me three more weeks off, due to sending me back to softties land... so far two meals and no tossing my Cookies My doc is a miracle man! laid his hands on me and healed me... kinda- great advice today... and have not had any dizzy spells since... (happy dance) I work on my feet all day, can only sit on breaks... pre-op I caught a nap on my lunch break, if I was going back tomorrow I know I be a wreck... They say it gets better... My wife (RnY) had more energy about 4 weeks, then she ever had...
