Started My Pre Surgery Diet On May 3
eyewonder replied to brooke33's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Welcome Brooke, and Shy said it best, so take her advice. Ask or post a question, nothing is off limits, just check some of the post and you will find answeres from poop to pills and etc. LOL -
@MandaElaine Texas girl how is your pre-op diet going? I start mine tomorrow. Preparing for this surgery is not easy. Mentally, Physically, and financially. Reading all this material I was given and spending hours aday on the internet doing my research on Lapband. I tell you it's draining. What gets me is all the different rules and regulations from different doctors. Plus trying to find the right vitamins and Protein shakes and just shopping for all that is needed. Going on youtube to find out about a product and one person likes it and swears it's good. Then another swears it's nasty. So I came to the conclusion that it's Trial and Error and money will be wasted on products I don't like. Any way I just felt like venting so you happen to be the one. LOL Hey Manda take one for the team

Welcome Wanda! Glad your surgery went well, I hope mine go well like yours. While your weight loss will give you a kick in your body, Lets all here in our group" May Blooming Bandsters" put it in the universe that what you desire for your family will come true, if you believe and it's meant to be. The kick should not only be in your body but in your mind and spirit too. To let you know that you should relax and let go and give it to God. * I know you didn't ask for my 2 cents, but I had to write what I'm hearing in my spirit to say. Be Blessed

See daisy I knew you could handle it. So glad you are on your way now. Congradulations, get some rest and take your meds on a consistent basis. (ahead of the pain) At least for a couple of days. I haven't had surgery but that's what I'm going to do.

Pureed Diet --- Meal Plan Suggestions
eyewonder commented on Cnewme2012's blog entry in Cnewme2012's Blog
I haven't had surgery yet but I did try out a couple of things i read from this site and another. Just trying to test out foods. Try this; 1/4 cup low- fat ricotta cheese, I sprinkle a little italian seasoning on it, couple of tablespoons of marinara sauce, sprinkle some parmsean, and a little mozzrella cheese and microwave for 1 minute. Believe me I was smiling and said " ok when I do my pureed diet I can handle this. Another thing I tried was ricotta cheese mixed with applesauce and sprinkle some applespice seasoning in it. (I didn't have applespice, so I used allspice) It was good. -

Thank you for sharing, You said the magic words: " if you believe in your heart that this is the only way you can lose the weight and you are ready to give up your old habits, then you can do it. It will save your life."

Hi everyone! I have a couple of questions: I need to purchase a mulitvitamin and Calcium +d. What chewable & gummi brands are tolerable? I was leaning towards Viactiv chocolate chewable calcium, but read somewhere where they get stale quick. Any advice? I'm not trying to buy Bariactric advantage products, to expensive. Second question: I brought Gas X strips, but has anyone tried the chewable Gas X, if so was it ok or nasty tasting? Third question: ( I thought it was only going to be 2 questions) I have to crush up my other medications after surgery, so any suggestions on what to mix them in besides applesauce?

Thank you for info on vitamins. Crushing my pills were in the instructions I had received. I had to call my pharmacy to see which pills I can crush.

@ loseit! I'm surprise you didn't complain of the broth in a can. I can't handle can broth. I've tried the chicken bouillon cubes and they are much better, was just trying a cup out ahead of time. I'm so glad I did because I would have stocked up on can broth. Then again it's about personal preferences. By the way I was told not to drink out of a straw, so check on that. But of course you like doing things your way . LOL @daisychains7 Count down time, how are you doing with your liquid diet? About being worried on the surgery table, it's normal but just do what you already know to do Pray. For me I Pray and always say in Jesus name. Most of all we all including myself, have to remind ourselves and believe and have Faith to give it to God. Like the saying goes Let Go and Let God

I like your Real Talk, straight to the point and you didn't sugarcoat anything. Sorry you had a miserable start, but I'm glad you are feeling better now. Congradulations

@lose it! You are to take it easy and not over do it, so no more over doing it. How much broth were you able to eat and Were you nervous thinking you might take to much at one time?

@imaluckydog Thank you for the kind words, you definately made my day.I was about to delete it off because I wasn't sure a poem was appropriate for this site. I realize people are looking for Q&A solutions. But I like to write about the deeper inner feelings of the soul and was hoping it touched somebody. So again thank you.

TIRED OF BEING AFRAID Many years I walked this complicated land I have built up brick walls that Only God could tear down with a plan I’ve stood in the shadows Always staying behind Afraid of coming to the light Where my spirit would shine Some may look at me And see sometimes a sheltered soul Who hibernates in the hot summer As well the winter cold During periodic retreats I’ve always felt safe I was away from people and things That could possibly hurt me Leaving my heart in a fragile state Not saying I’ve never enjoyed life The way people do It’s just that the ultimate happiness I’ve been seeking Have perpetrated itself in Momentary things and men that wasn’t true Up goes the walls, stronger and thicker Making it hard for anyone to penetrate thru I’m so tired of being afraid Of what the unknown can possibly do The fear factor controlled my solitude life Leaving me helpless and hopeless Like a wounded bird without wings to fly For once in my life, before it’s too late I hope these barriers let down So self can escape Tired of Being Afraid I can no longer be For earthly time is running out And my spirit needs to be set free

Glad everything went well for you

I can't tolerate Chicken broth in the boxes, but bouillon cubes are ok. Give them a try or make your own chicken broth
