Good for you sticking to your guns and working through this! I am anxious to hear about what happened, I'll be looking for that post. In the meantime, keep us posted and let us know WHEN not if you are approved!

I think that is so neat that you want to have surgery together! Is it the best idea??? Not sure what to tell you. Everyone responds different to surgery and you won't know until you have it how you will be. If you don't have any kids or pets at home it may be doable. My biggest issue at home is that I am not supposed to lift for 6 weeks. Hubby and kids help with lifting the laundry and whatever else I need. Since I came home I have been getting my own drinks and "foods". I was tired after I came home and became dehydrated but didn't have any pain or nausea or anything. Keep us posted. Love the limo idea!

Great news! How nice to have an insurance company that doesn't require so many hoops to go through to have surgery! Keep us updated!

Vitamin Shoppe Helpful Information
sarsar replied to notsochubbybritneyspears's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I want to add that Vitamin World has the best ever vitamin crusher and splitter! When I got mine it was right by the checkout and I saw it while I was paying. I am so glad I purchased it, it works great! Much easier and quicker than crushing by hand. I believe it was $6.99. -
I completely understand about the nausea! I am soooo scared to throw up and it doesn't happen very often for me at all, only 2 times in the last 15 years. The good news for me was that I didn't have any nausea whatsoever! I was so thankful for that, I hope that you will be one of the lucky ones like I was!

Welcome! Thanks for sharing your story with us! I am so happy you had such a great experience. Not sure how to do the ticker either. Now that my daughter is home from college I am going to have her help me figure it out. She just helped me change my avatar today!

Yay! So exciting! Please update as soon as you can after surgery! I nervous the night before. When I went to bed I prayed and gave all my worries to God. I woke up the next morning calm and at peace and felt that way all the way up to the time I fell asleep for surgery! It was a wonderful feeling!

Are you guys real people and patients?
sarsar replied to CCinINdiana's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Hi and welcome. I'm a real person and I went to Mexico. I was sleeved on May 24th with Dr. Aceves. I did a lot of research bf I went and I had a great experience. I wish I would get paid to talk about going to Mexico, that would be great! There are a lot of people who have gone to Mexico on this board. I, too, wondered if some of the people were getting paid. I even sent a pm to ask them if they were getting paid! Feel free to pm me if you have any questions. I will even send you my phone number and you can have your family call me and I will be glad to answer any questions they may have. Take care and best of luck to you! -
I would call your doctors office right now and see if there is a doctor on call that can talk to you. If not I would go to the ER. You should not be vomiting everything you put inside of you. You are probably dehydrated but there may be something else going on that is causing this. I wouldn't wait till morning. Call your doctor now or get to the ER! Please update and let us know what happens. Take care!

Got Approved For Surgery! FINALLY
sarsar replied to ceciliam's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Don't worry people will reply sometimes it takes a little while. I don't suffer from anxiety so I can't help you there. Make sure that you talk to your doctor about this before surgery. I am sure that as long as you use your sleeve as a tool you will do just fine with losing weight! Congratulations on your date. -

I'll send you a pm. -
I am reading contradicting articles on the internet about how much Protein your body can absorb in one sitting. Does anyone know the answer to this? I am reading that your body can only absorb 30 grams of protein in on sitting and the rest turns into fat and it makes it hard for your kidneys to have more than 30 grams at a time. What are your thoughts on this?

Eddie, thanks for updating I was worried about you! I know that after I was juiced up on Thursday I felt so much better. I have had a ton of energy on Friday and today. Hang in there and keep sipping your fluids. Try all kinds and see if anything works. Bf surgery I loved plain water now it just doesn't taste right. I add Crystal Light or Propel. I am hoping I can drink plain water again soon. Also, try some popsicles. Hang in there and keep us posted on how you are feeling.

WHOA....you look like a different person! Great job! Thanks for sharing your pics!

My protein drink this morning had 20 grams, I then added 40 grams with 2 scoops of Unjury. All of that was added to 16 oz. of water. So in that drink it is safe to say that I absorbed all 60 grams? It makes sense not to worry about the fat bc we are burning fat right now.

Sleeved May 31st and Feeling Great
sarsar replied to karaserene1985's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi! Congratulations! I am also from WI, you don't live too far from me! Don't worry about the size, you will do just fine. There really isn't much difference between sizes anyway. Keep us updated on your progress. -
Don't give up, up CAN do this! You came this far to stop now! This is what I would do if I was in your situation. I would call the insurance company back and talk to a supervisor to make sure the information the rep gave you is correct. Then I would have the dr. office submit your information. The people who decide are the ones who will give you the real answer. If they deny it then I would appeal. Keep notes and write down everything in the appeal letter. If they still deny it then by all means go to another doctor. I would think that they would be happy to accept the of the tests you just had done. You can also check out the insurance forum on this site. I am sure there are people there who have gone through the same things. Best of luck to you...don't give up!

Just remember that everyone is different. Most people have terrible gas pains from the gas they pump in your stomach during surgery. It usually doesn't last long from what I am told. I was very fortunate and didn't have any gas pain or any pain at all after the surgery. I did ask for pain meds as soon as I felt something so I think that I stayed on top of the pain that I would have felt. I also didn't have any nausea at all...I'm 12 days post op and still haven't had any nausea. I do usually have some diarrhea after I eat. I was a little tender where my incisions were after the surgery but it wasn't painful for me at all. It felt to me like I had a really good ab workout.

Great post Mama S! Fear of the unknown is usually what keeps us from moving forward! When we face our fears we feel so much stronger!

Okay, Freaking out time!!! Sugery Monday AM
sarsar replied to mnbsleeve's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It is understandable to be nervous, we all are before surgery. Plus, our emotions are going crazy!! You will be ok. One thing that I kept in mind when I was reading of the issues people had was that they always got better. I have not read of anyone who has had problems and kept having problems. Also, remember that this is major surgery. You won't be the same right away. It will take you a while to heal, you need to give your body time to heal. I didn't have any issues at all with pain or nausea after surgery. I haven't had any problems with not being able to eat....yet, I am only 11 days post op. If I do, I will deal with it and I know it won't last forever. The pros of this surgery far outweigh the cons. I have already lost 23 pounds (this includes my week preop diet). Those 23 pounds have made a huge difference in how I feel already!! I was dehydrated and had to have two bags of fluids yesterday. It wasn't a big deal. I am pretty in tune to my body so I knew what was going on. I saw my PCP and she agreed I was dehydrated and sent me for fluids. I felt so good after and today I feel even better. I haven't even taken a nap and I have been busy all day! I know it may happen again and I'm ok with that. Hang in there, don't cancel. The reason people get so scared is because of the fear of the unknown. You can do this and you will be happy you did it and before long you will be offering support to those out there who are scared just like you!
