The Bible say's it, therefore since I believe the Bible, I believe it and do think it. It's as simple as that. I believe it, but I am not the one who cast judgement, according to the Bible, it is God! It's as if you werein a courtroom on trial. The jury foreman may give you the bad news, but he didn;t make the law! In this case, I am far less that the jury foreman, because I don't get to decide your guilt or innocence. Unbelief ic condemned by God in the scriptures.

A Jewish Parrot Three Jewish sons left home, went out on their own and prospered. Getting back together, they discussed the gifts that they were able to give to their elderly mother. The first said, "I built a big house for our mother." The second said, "I sent her a Mercedes with a driver." The third said, "I've got you both beat. You know how Mom enjoys reading the Torah and you know she can't see very well? I sent her a large brown parrot that can recite the entire Torah. It took twenty rabbis 12 years to teach him. I had to pledge to contribute $1,000,000 a year for twenty years but it was worth it. Mom just has to name the chapter and verse and the parrot will recite it."Soon thereafter, Mom sent out her letters of thanks. She wrote to the first son, "Milton, the house you built is so huge. I live in only one room, but I have to clean the whole house." She wrote to the second son, "Marvin, I am too old to travel. I stay home all the time, so I never use the Mercedes and the driver is SO rude." She wrote to the third son, "Dearest Melvin, you were the only son to have the good sense to know what your mother likes. The chicken was delicious."

Correction! I don't say that, the Bible say's that. I do not say that those who do not accept the Biblical Jesus are lost and that those wo do not believe in God are fools - the Bible say's that. You keep confusing what I say with what I quote from the Bible. There is a is difference between my opinion and what the Bible says.
-
I will be running out shortly but will be back later to participate again. I am not running away, as some may like, but have someplace I need to go.
-
Jesus might disagree with you! he said, "these thingts have i given unto you that you may KNOW that you have eternal life"!! Seems like proof to me!
-
I don't know how you could get that meaning from such a clear cut verse, but if that's what you believe . . . Let me make one observation though! With that type of intrepretation couldn't you just make any verse say anything you want it to??
-
Sue, My Bible say's that "the only way to the Farther is through the Son"! That seems to exclude everything else, doesen't it?
-
Thank-you!

I certainly do not think that women are inferior or substandard in any way, shape or form! I believe that God has different roles for men and women withing the family, society and the church. Both are vital and of great value. The scriptures say for men to "love your wives as you love yourselves"! The church, the family and society could not function without women. I hope that clarifies it if anyone had any question on what i believe.
-
As is mine!!
-
You inferred wrong!
-
Seems like you already have your mind made up on the authority of the Bible. You are entitled to your opinion. I wholeheartedly disagree.
-
You know my belief on that so what's to respond to? Why beat a dead horse. I do not believe the Qur'an to be of spiritual authority or the God of the Qur'an to be the same as the God of the Bible. You believe otherwise. So what do you want to discuss??
-
With posts like this, you wonder why this thread got to this point. This is a great example of the point I was trying to make previously about double standards. No one seems to think garbage like this is insensitive or crude, but let me respond and everyone starts pointing the finger! Anyone care to address the sarcasim and taunting from this person??
-
Actually, no! I never said or implied any of those things, and I would be happy to respond to any post you direct at me. You are making assumptions. I think I have responded to the couple that you did direct to me, and have not jumped into other you posted to others. If you have something to say to me, please do.
-
BJean, Let's be honest! I never came out and "haughtily exclaimed" anyone is going to Hell in those words. What I did say is what the Bible had to say on the subject. I have quoted scripture to that effect. I know you and other do not accept that, and don't want to hear that. Do you want me to stop saying that because someone is offended by my beliefs? I don't have any illusion that what I said is going to cause you to change your beliefs. I am just presenting what MY beliefs are - take it or leave it. You and others are offended by my "attitude", which you classified previously as insensitive amd uncompromising because, I assume, I am so convinced that my beliefs are right and I am vocal about it. If I were in your shoes I might feel the same way, so what do I do. Not respond to questions, serious or not, because I shouldn't say what I believe? You said you don't expect me to compromise what I believe, but what I think I am hearing you say is, "just keep it to yourself"! Is that correct or not? If so, what terminology would you feel more comfortable with? No matter how I say what I believe, some people are going to take offence to it.
-
You are entitled to your opinion!
-
In case you havn't noticed, I am not inisiting any of these posts. I am replying to posts directed toward me. I have tried to move on, but that is not being allowed to happen, unless I just ignore everyone and not reply to their questions.
-
When you say I am not cutting anyone any slack and respecting their beliefs, what exactly are you expecting! I have said repeatedly that anyone if free to believe anything they want, and I respect their right to do so. I happen to believe that any spiritual beliefs that are not based on the Bible are 100% wrong. Do you want me to change that because it offends some people! I won't and I can't! If that is want you are protesting, then yes, you are protesting my beliefs.
-
I understand that not everyone believes what I believes or is convinced by scriptural evidence, but that does not change my beliefs. I insist my beliefs are correct because that is what I truly believe. I make no apoligies for standing up for what I believe.
-
You said you werm't going to post to this thread anymore, and yet, here you are. I guess you just can't resist. I am not going to allow you to bait me anymore. I am going to ignore you unless you have something constructive to add. It's just not worth the effort!
-
Or could it be that those who oppose the truth are the sourse of the hatred and rebellion against God?
-
Come on BJean, Anything that can not be substanciated is "unfounded"! For someone to make a statement and not be willing to share why they made the statement makes little sense to me. Why make the statement in the first place? If I told you they discovered a second moon, would you just accept that, or would you want to know how I know that?? Do the rules change just because we are talking about religion?? I don't make any claims of authority about myself, I don't claim to know it all, and I am not above learning new things, but to believe differently, I need a reason to do so. Wouldn't you? I cite scripture because according to my belief, scripture is the final word on all matters spiritual. I don't ask anyone to believe anything that I say or think. I invite them to look in the Bible and let the Bible speak to them. You keep making this about me and it's not. I believe that you and others here are raging mad that I dare claim that the Bible is the only way to a knowledge of God, and again, I make no apoligy for that. You don't have to believe it or accept it, nevertheless, I believe it to be true.
-
Of course there is no rules about backing up what you say, and anyone is allowed to say whatever they choose. That goes without saying. My point is, if we are to have serious discussion about ANYTHING, then it is reasonable to expect ANYONE to give good reason for the things they say. Otherwise, you don't have a discussion, you have everyone making unfounded statements. If someone is telling me that they believe the Qur'an to be a holy book and that the God is Islam is the same as the God of the Bible, why should anyone believe them unless they can good reason for their statement? Without good reason, it is just so many words. If some can't back-up claims or statement they make, I have every right to discount them and disagree with them. I would expect people to demand no less from me.

Perhaps you need to listen to the voice of God a little harder then!! Jesus said that,"The only way to the Father is through the Son"! The Bible also say's "the wages of sin is death" and that "no one doeth good, no not one"! Again, if you don't agree with these things, your argument is with the author. It's a person's sin that condemns him to Hell, certainly not me! Forget what I say, it doesn't matter, listen to what God says! Open a Bible and read it for yourself!! And yes, Tom is very pleasant and sweet!
