Is It Normal To Go Three Weeks With No Weight Loss?!
Ro-Jae327 replied to show1980's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Yes, it is frustrating. I sometimes think I need a fill and then I start losing again. I lose in spurts as well. The last fill I got was in November 2011 and I have lost about 25lbs since then. So it is slow but steady. The most important thing to remember is to eat at least 1200 calories and exercise. It will come off. At least I'm not gaining.... That's how I see it. Good luck everyone -
I was told to actually not eat anything the day of a fill. Only liquids...but each doc is different I guess...

Yes, eat, eat, eat! Trust me I was there too. It's hard because you can't really eat that much because you get full faster and you won't lose unless you eat more. I was discouraged as well. I got over it though. I just take it day by day. The key for me is to eat 1200 calories a day. I normally eat a light breakfast (boiled egg and fruit) and lunch (some sort of protein) and then I really don't eat dinner. Maybe something very light. That works for me. I drink water all day long. That helps so much as well. My surgery was 6/11 and I have had 4 fills. My last one was in 11/11. I'm doing fine but should get another one soon. Good luck and try not to get discouraged!! Remember, slow and stady journey..

Good luck!

I used to weight myself daily, but when the scale was not moving quick enough for me I started weighing twice a week. You begin to get obsessed with the scale. It's pretty bad. This way is working better for me. I can focus more on doing what I need to do. Godd luck all

2 Weeks Post Lap Band Surgery And A Margarita???
Ro-Jae327 replied to Kellysue's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Honestly, I think you should do what you want to do. You're an adult. You know what's best for you. Just be careful and all in moderation. I personally would not do it. But you know you. Good luck on your journey!! -
No Weight Loss Since Lap Band Surgery (july 11)
Ro-Jae327 replied to Daelynn's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Yes I would agree to eat at least 1200 cal a day and plenty of water!! I try to limit my bread intake to about once a week, but sometimes I wouldn't have it for a month. It's all in moderation though. Good luck! -
I really don't have the time to join a gym because I have a 16 month old at home and it's just him and I. So I need some workout routines to do at home. I was banded 6/17 so i'm almost 8 weeks post op. Any suggestions anyone? Right now I do hip hop abs like 2 nights a week. My weight is at a plateau right now. I need some help!

Feeling A Little Bit Discouraged!
Ro-Jae327 replied to Crissy8705's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I think you are doing well. Slow and steady. -
You have to up your caloric intake it you are working out that much. If you exercise for like 2 hrs and burn 400 calories and you've only eaten 1000 calories, then that means that you only ate 600 calories that day. My doctor told me your net calories cannot go under 1000. Just eat more because your body needs something to burn off if you are working out a lot. Good luck, Good job on the weight loss.

Hungry After Lap Band Surgery
Ro-Jae327 replied to Winter2011's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Don't worry. It happens to all of us. I am almost 5 months post op and I was there. Just keep drinking your protein shakes and soup(chicken broth). I had lots of cream of chicken soup by Lipton. It's really good and not that many calories. The hunger should subside a bit from that. But hang in there you are doing great. Keep it up! -
I am self pay as well and for me it;s the same. 90 day global period. I got 3 fills within that 90days for no charge and are $180 after the 90days. I just got my 4th fill last week and I was able to make payments towards that fill. I would ask if that works for them. Getting a fill too soon is probably not a good idea. Good luck

How Many Before Your Lap Band Green Zone
Ro-Jae327 replied to Sharon1222's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have a 10cc band and now at 6.4cc. I have really good restriction most of the time. Sometimes I feel like I'm in the green zone and sometimes I feel like I'm not. I can still eat bread. My doctor says that bread is not off limits to me. I don't eat like I used to but every now and then I may have a pinch of bread or a small piece. I think you are not losing the way you want is because maybe your calororic intake is low. Try eating more. Try not to worry so much about what you are putting in your mouth and focus on the portion. Of course still make smart choices. I't difficult but when when you get into a pattern the weight will come off. I have lost 43 lbs since 6/2011 and really have not done too much exercise. I know everyone is different! Don't feel helpless and dont give up. You're doing great! Keep it up. The weight will come off. -
I feel the same way. I am almost 5 months post op and in the beginning my weight loss was fast, now it's slowed down quite a bit. My suggestion is keep doing what you're doing. It will come off. Im in the same boat, I eat around 1200-1300 cal a day and I exercise 3-4 time a week and I lose on average about 5-8 lbs a month. My doctor says that great! So I take his word for it and keep it moving! I know it can be very frustrating, but at least it's coming off. Good luck!

Help! Is there hope after esophageal dilation?
Ro-Jae327 replied to michel_jt's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have never hear of this before. But it seems like you have been through a lot. I will pray for you and hope that things get better. Good luck -
Same thing happened to me. Only I didn't have a BM until I was 1 week post op!!! It's the anesthesia and pain meds. It takes a few days to get things going again. I did a fleet enema. Not fun but it helped big time! Good luck
-
Honestly, sorry to say but your doctor's office is stupid! You are simply not eating enough. Trust me I learned the hard way. I could have been losing so much weight but I started eating enough late. I believe you should be eating around 1100-1200 a day. You won't lose weight unless you eat. I know we all are different, but still you have to eat. My doctor says for me not to go under 1000 cal a day. As soon as I listened, I started dropping weight. I don't workout as much as I should, I'm sure if I did if would come off even quicker. Good luck and hang in there. It will get better.

Great job! You look great!

Very hard decision in very little time!!!
Ro-Jae327 replied to Myzz_Courtney's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Honestly, I'm not sure if I will get it removed. Sit down and talk to your doctor and get his/her feedback. Trust them to help you make the right decision. Especially if you really love your band. Maybe it just needs to get back into place properly. Maybe it wasn't put in right the first time. You have a lot to think about. Good luck to you in making the right decision for you. -
can't figure this dumb thing out
Ro-Jae327 replied to mj23's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You've lost 70lbs! Seems like you're figuring it out to me. I'm sure it's frustrating to be throwing up. But just hang in there!
