How many calories are you eating per day?
Ro-Jae327 replied to MrsGillen07's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I eat anywhere from 900-1200 a day. I don't really count my calories though. I just don't eat carbs and make sure I get about 90gm of protein a day. That works for me. Good luck! -

"This store specializes in plus sizes..."
Ro-Jae327 replied to lisaasil9's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
That is a great story. Yes, Lane Bryant used to be my best friend. Although I am not even at my halfway point, I refuse to shop at Lane Byrant again. My biggest goal was to get out of the plus size stores. Now I can get into a size 16 or 18 so I don't need to shop there anymore. It is a struggle everyday, but when the scale moves, it makes me remember my reason for doing this. What a wonderful journey! Good luck to you! Rochelle -
Just curious, when did you get banded? I just reached 40 lbs and had surgery 6/17. Good job! Keep me posted. Rochelle

Hi. I just read your post. Did you ever get your surgery? How are you coming along? Keep in touch. Rochelle -
Call both of your doctors. Probably the PCP first. I had a hiatal hernia that got repaired when I had my surgery. That's internal, so I'm not sure about yours. Good luck and keep us all posted. Rochelle

85 lbs in 1 year??
Ro-Jae327 replied to BaileyRose's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So tell me about that please. I got banded on 6/17/11 and have lost 30lbs so far. I would like to lose 100lbs in a year and I have not exercised really. Can you give me some tips on what guidlines you followed? Thank you Rochelle -
I am in the same boat. I have lost 30 lbs but have been stuck here for about 2 weeks. My problem is my caloric intake. I don't eat as much as I should, it's hard sometimes. But i guess all we can do is take one day at a time. Hang in there!

Amen Jachut! I agree with you totally. Just don't finish your food. My Surgeon's office gave me that card as well. But honestly, I always forget that I have it and have yet to use it. I just buy a regular plate, eat what I can, and take the rest home. This is not so complicated you know.

How much weight loss to drop a size
Ro-Jae327 replied to hopetolose's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I was wondering the same thing. I am down 30lbs and was a size 22 now I am in an 18 comfortably. 10 more lbs and I should get into a 16 bottoms. I would say 10-20lbs for each size depending on your shape. Good luck and congrats to you! -
Congrats to you! I had a really hard time with not being able to eat and drink at the same time too, but it's really not that big a deal. You are more concerned with chewing very well and getting the food down to worry about drinking. Trust me Every now and then I have to take a small sip of water if something gets a little stuck. But it is a big no no. That is something that you will get used to fast. Like Pixistix said, the veggies can be kinda tough to get down at times, but just met them wet with something. I don't have problems with any meats yet. I have been banded for 9 weeks so I am still a newbie to this. But every now and then I will put guacamole on steak and chicken if I think it is too dry. You will be fine. Good luck and keep in touch!

Can you feel your band inside?
Ro-Jae327 replied to Jennifer16005's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
No I don't feel the band. Never have. I had a Hital Hernia repair so I felt that pain after surgery, but never the band. -
I have only been stuck for about 5 minutes at the longest! Fingers crossed....I have some papaya enzymes just in case.

Wow! I am surprised at these answers. I thought I was one of a few that weighed daily! Crazy! I don't have a scale at home. I think I would go insane. But I weigh myself at work everyday. It it frustrating at times though.

Ive lost my 16 month old plus 5!

Good for you! I had a Hiatal Hernia with my surgery as well. 6/17/2011. I can honestly say that the worst part was the gas. I had it for about 2-3 days after I went home. The hernia repair was probably what hurt the most. I am very happy I did it. I feel great and look forward to my lifelong journey. Good luck to you.

Down 50 Lbs And Notice That Strangers are Nicer
Ro-Jae327 replied to 1970MaleJaxFL's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Yes, same with me. I have noticed men holding doors open for me and women smiling and starting conversations with me while I'm out. It's really crazy. But I think that we are just more confident in ourselves and it really shows. Good luck everyone. I love this journey! -
