Has Anyone Else Had A Hiatal Hernia Fix When They Where Banded?
Puppypaws57 replied to No Longer Banded!'s topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just found out Wednesday that I had one that was repaired during my lap band surgery. I didn't even know I had one, much less had one repaired. My surgery was in December. -

Hi - I'm soooo sorry you had to go thru this. Is there a chance that the mean lady just jumped to conclusions because you lost so much weight. Perhaps your co-worker didn't tell. After all, the mean lady did get the type of surgery wrong. If your co-worker told her you had lap band then I think the mean lady would have said lapband and not bypass. Just a possibility. -
221 Up two lbs. My first gain. :-(

Gained All Weight-Can I Still Get A Fill
Puppypaws57 replied to madikayt's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi - This happened to me and when the Dr. (after 2 years) did a flouro - only cause hubby asked - the band had never been connected! I agree with the others, maybe your band has a leak or something. I had my 14cc band taken out an a new 10cc band put in. Now I feel restriction and love, love, love my band whereas before I didn't love it so much - LOL -
I also have issues that I know I will need therapy to overcome. I have been in therapy many times before, and frankly, I am burned out on it. However, if I could find a therapist that dealt in eating disorders, I would go. Good luck and Blessings to you.

Can You Tell Me Your Favorite Meals!!!
Puppypaws57 replied to kr8160311's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Isopure also comes pre-mixed in a bottle. Yummy -
Slowly but surely. Down to 220, a loss of 1 lb. AND I did only look at candy at the store yesterday, but today it is all ON SALE!! My bad habit is one that I have a hard time breaking. I eat intelligently when hubby is around. But if he isn't around, I'll sneak something like sherbert or his ice cream. I'll buy a candy bar if I'm out shopping alone, or get eat something while he is at the bar. Any ideas on why I do this?

All the above PLUS sick and tired of people moving to make a wide space for me when they see me coming, and turning away from me to make room so I can get by.

How Much Damage Does Being In The Red Zone Cause?
Puppypaws57 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think I might be slightly overfilled. I have a 10cc band and the Dr. put in 2cc's during the surgery. The nutrionist thought I might be overfilled. When I look at the red zone handout, it is true that the band stops me and I feel uncomfortable and swallowing is very unpredictable and difficult. I won't see another Dr. for a while. Mine left and the interim dr., has his own practice and isn't making it too easy to see him. This is my second band. The Doc didn't connect a tube first time around. Now he put in another, smaller band, and I live in fear that something will happen. This time around the band is so awesome. So my question is: If I am in the red zone and I have to wait so long to the new Dr., am I damaging my band. If it is true that the band loosens after a while, should I just leave well enough alone? I'm not losing too much weight, which is also an indicator of a too tight band. -

People Who Regret Getting The Band
Puppypaws57 replied to Richard Bush's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Yes, the ragaining scares me too. Even gastric bypass people regain. Think how awful that must be for them. All that re-routing and then gaining weight back. At least for most of us banders, if we regain our weight, all we have left is the band. Jan, I would think that maybe your surgeon could remove it probono because of how it is ruining your life. Guess that's too much to ask. -
Coming Back After A Very Long Time!
Puppypaws57 replied to KateP's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Kate - I remember you from the other wls site. Glad to have you over here. I find this a much, much nicer site. Not all the bickering and put downs like the other forum. -
I REALLY need a mentor. For my first band, the tubing was never connected, making it worthless. This time, however, the band is working great!!! I have so many questions and want to do everything right to make sure this band continues to work for me. Thanks, Terry
