I have done the same thing.. I was 266 pounds the day of surgery.(June 28,2011) My lowest is 188 a year later and now I am back up to 220. I can not go to the store with out buying a chocolate bar or ice cream. I am so depressed because my clothes are tight. I truly don't know how to get back on the bandwagon!!

A little frustrated
momma9398 replied to sandiburn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi I was banded on une 28th and I lost very well the first 2 weeks or so then I slowed down for about a week after I started on solids. I think it is normal. Try not too worry about it too much. Remember your body is still healing from the surgery and you need to take that time too heal. Hang in there it will get better. I will be getting my second fill on the 26th of Sept and I am ready for it now. Its all a process... -
Hi guys I haven't posted on here yet but I thought I would give you all something too laugh at... Sooo okay I was banded on June 28th of this year and had my first fill yesterday. I do not do well with needles at all. Now I know what you are saying "why have lapband if you don't like needles". Well I had the lapband for a multitude of reasons but, the biggest is that I am the mother of 2 wonderful boys... The oldest being severely disabled... I needed too get healthy too take care of him.. Okay so Anyway I walked into the office yesterday for my fill and was really not nervious. I had my hubby with me for support. The dr. came in told me too lay back and relax. YEAH RIGHT! He sticks the needles in which really was not bad. But, he digs and digs and digs some more. By now I am sweating bullets. So he takes the needle out and asks for a different one. Finally he gets it in and tells me too sit up and take a drink. So I do as I am told and pass out!! Right there.. I was so embarrassed... But its okay cause today I have only been able too get a few bites down at a time and have been pretty comfortable for 2 to 3 hours at a time... I am happy!! Have a great week all...

OKAY!!! LOL I don't feel so bad now I was thinking 10 or 15 min was bad I would have been throwing up after all of that. I am glad they finally got some fluid out so you can be comfortable. They put in 2cc of saline and I think its pretty good... I have been pretty happy the last week. I have lost about 4 pounds and I am really not that hungry between meals. I am still a little sore from the poking around and have a nice little bruise. But, as I told my nurse it wasn't as bad as I thought even after passing out. Hopefully when I go back on the 26th of Sept I only have too be poked 1 time and don't pass out on them...lol

1st fill Whoop Whoop!!!
momma9398 replied to CurlyDiva's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well right now the biggest thing I am doing is making sure I am drinking and if I start too feel hungry I will drink and it can get me about 45 min longer. I can tell if I eat too much because I will get a pain right under my rib cage on my port side. I am eating really slow though. So I almost can tell when that bite is the last bite. I just feel full which I have not felt in a year. Its nice... I am not sure I helped you its hard too put into words. You will get it though just remember too chew!! Good luck -
Hungry every two hours or so? VERY frustrating...

I was banded on June 28th and just had my first fill on Monday. I understand where you are coming from and I had too finally start really measuring out my food and writing it down. That way I could see what I was eating and how much. That is when I realized that I was not eating enough. Hang in there I keep telling myself that no matter how prepaired I was for this journey it is still a learning game... They are right about the water... I can usually hold back about 45 min if I drink some water... Hang in there!! -

Extremely Hungry Today
momma9398 replied to NatalieB's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 3 days post op and I am having the same problem I am soo hungry. I am trying to stick to the 2 oz I am allowed but then I am just miserable half hour later. I started my protein shakes today and was only able to get 4 oz down at one time... I am also eating soups and drinking water. Yougurt and pudding and some mashed potatoes... It just doesn't keep me satisfied.. Plus I haven't lost any weight.. I am not sure if its just too soon cause I am still swollen and have alot of gas in my tummy... Atleast we are not alone! -
Hi everyone I was banded on the 28th so I am 2 days post op. I am feeling pretty good for the most part. I thought I was very prepaired for this but it still amazes me how little I eat.. I actually love it!! My concern is that with the amount I am able to take in how am I suppose to get my protein in.. They told me all I could have is soft foods starting today. So I have had a tiny bit of oatmeal and an even smaller amount of mashed potatoes. How do you guys fit your protein in at the beginning of your journey?

momma9398 replied to Freddy Henin's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congratulations... I can not wait too be where you are. I am so tired of eating... When I tell skinny people that they look at me like I am crazy. They don't understand that I consume my day with eating or wondering what there is too eat... I am so excited to share this journey with all of you!! Glad you are feeling well. I will be looking forward too hearing how your doing... -
Hi everyone my name is Christine Black and I live in Illinois. I am a little farther then some of you are. I am finishing up my 3 month diet exercise program with my Dr. Tommorrow I have my second and hopefully last appointment with the phycologist. I also have my last appt pre-surgery with my nutritionist on Tues. So hopefully my file will be submitted to my insurance the first week in June... Anyway I am so ready for this journey. My husband and I have been talking about this for about a year. I have a wonderful family and my husband loves me just the way I am. The problem is I don't like me so much and I have 2 boys to take care of.. My oldest son is severely disabled and needs constant care. So I need to get healthy for so many reasons.. I have been trying to wrap my mind around this journey and how it is going to change my day to day living... I have already started trying to cut things out.. Diet coke has been a huge part of my life for years... I have been 7 days today without a diet coke... Just drinking water and tang. Also occasionally a tea. Anyway I am rambling.. I am just happy to find this page and will be a constant stalker on here..lol I won't post much but, I will read hours... Good luck to all of you newbies like me...
