Turtle here! I too have lost very slowly. I have lost 41 lbs depending on the day. For some reason I can not get out of the 250's.
-
Same thing for me. I was banded 10/31/06 and have lost 44 pounds almost effortlessly. I now exercise, cut out the junk food with an occasional snack, drink 5-8 glassses of water each day. I don't know what to do anymore. I'm filled to (I think 3.5cc) Any more input would be greatly appreciated.

What are the details of the plateau buster you used? I have been stuck for about a month now and nothing I do works. THanks for any input.

Has anyone shopped at Steve & Barry's for the Bitten Line
Alexmom replied to jfran's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I tried the Bitten line and love the look of the clothes, but I too had to go up one size. I normally wear a size 20 (recently down from a 22) and had to go up to a 22 (how depressing, since I measure weight loss in my clothing size! I even got a wool pea coat for 20 bucks! The shirts are true to size for me. And I love the style, can't beat it for the price! -
Yeah, I saw the attack too and I'm thinking, "Where the hell did that come from?" I have been over there for a while too, but the format is easier to understand for me. I guess LBT doesnt have the option to switch the Bump feature. But anyway, it is hard to weed out the nice people from the mean ones. OH is nothing but a bunch of clicks, but I love going there because they do more for me than my nut/surgeon/therapist all put together, minus the fills. But Good Luck in your future.

I teach 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students. My students are really motivated by money, so I told them I would give $10 to anyone who could lick their elbows. Boy was it funny to see a group of 12 kids trying to lick their elbows. We had a good time!

Well, I'm really considering requesting a referral for another doc/surgeon closer to me. I only live about 30 minutes away, but I have to take the whole day off to schedule on Wednesday morning and still the nurse practioner does the fill. Now, dont get me wrong she is very nice and actually found the port the last two times, but she is always asking the nurse, how much do you think she needs? Do you think she got it? And actually the last time, which was two weeks ago, she coached the nurse through it, so I reallly dont know what is going on with Hurley. I know when Farhan is there (on Wed. morning) he is mostly doing consults. I really like the staff, but everything is just so inconvienent.

Well, as I have said, Dr. Farhan is a really busy man. I have seen him twice in my journey. Once in June for my initial consult, he was very attentive and answered all of my questions, then on the day of surgery for about 5 seconds. When I finally made it to my room, Dr. Wagner released me to go home. Dr. Wagner also did my fill once, but almost kind of begrudinglly, as I waited in the office until closing time for about 3 hours (My appt was at 3:15, I didnt leave until 6:30). And Dr. Farhan is only in the office on Wednesday mornings, so if you have a job and want him to do your fills, good luck. The nurse practioner did mine 4 times, and 2 of those times she missed my port and didnt put anything in. So, you might want to request Dr. Wagner as he has good hours, and is in the office regularly. Good luck!

Hello Faith, My surgery was done by Dr. Farhan at Hurley. This was the worse hospital experience I have ever had. After surgery, you usually need 1-2 hours in the recovery room, well, Hurley's staff had me there for over 10 hours on my back, on a small, narrow stretcher. So needless to say, I had an achy back for days afterward. My surgery was done on 10/31, and I have not seen my surgeon since. He is only in the office on Wed. mornings. No other surgeon wants to do my fills, so the NP does it and has gotten it wrong twice. I want a new doctor. However, the staff is very nice, but that really doesnt matter if the service stinks.

Has LBT helped or hindered your success?
Alexmom replied to StephC's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I recently joined LBT,but I have been a member of another site since i got my band. Now, I love both sites, but it was on the other site,(which I'm sure could've happened here too) that I learned how to eat around the band. I think If i hadn't known these tricks, then I wouldn't have tried them. I also didnt know that u could eat certain things that I was told to stay away from, like bread, pasta, potatoes, until someone posted they could eat all of those things. So... the other site, has hindered my progress IMHO. -
