Hi Shoppingbeemom The tube went down my nose and through my throat. When they pulled it I was awake ,what really bothered me was the feeling of the tube inside my throat .They kept it inside for 24 hours for all the unwanted Fluid to get out of my stomach. There was another tube coming out of the left side of my stomach for blood to get out. Best of luck on your surgery Sarah -

Hello dear My surgeon said it was a little bit different because there were some adhesions because of the old surgery but the space inside was enough for the tube to pass, otherwise he would have revise it to gastric bypass.....concerning the recovery I stayed for 2 days in the hospital but frankly this time I felt much better I didn't feel any pain after surgery except for the tube coming out of my nose ,it was painful But it didnt hurt more than the plication Thanks TijuanaPlication....For sure I'l keep on posting on my progress -

Hi Julie, thanks for posting I had my surgery a year ago but for free coz it was a clinical trial I'm from Egypt....so the procedures is not very well known here I'm now back to the starting point as if I had never done any procedure I wasn't that nervous before plication because it seemed so save with no risks with no cutting or stappling But now my case is a little bit different coz the risk of having a leak or bleeding increases(not so sure but I readit in one of the forums) My surgeon said that it can be done and he found enough space to do the sleeve,he tried to comfort me but doing another procedure is scary now ...but I can't stay fat anymore Thank u again for your reply...wish you all the best -

Not enough restriction?
Sarah Elsekhawy replied to TijuanaPlication's topic in Gastric Plication Surgery Forum
I'm 5.5 months out and I've discovered that with plication there is no enough restriction to maintain wight loss For me,I've failed to continue the journey ....Plication is completely different from sleeve ...It's so strange that they r still comparing the weight loss to that of the gastric sleeve I'm so disappointed ....I read more and more about people who r not satisfied with the loss . -

How much do you eat 17 weeks post surgery?
Sarah Elsekhawy replied to Sarah Elsekhawy's topic in Gastric Plication Surgery Forum
Hi everyone I saw my surgeon last week and he added to my confusion. He said that it's normal to eat that amount when you eat out and chat with your friends. He advised me to calculate my calories and exercise.....but ......How come when I feel hungry all the time? .....How can I avoid eating more when I don't have enough restriction...Why did I have that surgery then? He told me that if I'm eating half the amount of what I used to eat before surgery then the stitches are still doing their job....... I really felt that he failed to adjust the size of the bougie or he didn't make the stitches tight enough.... It's a new procedure and I was his second patient to have vertical plication .... I need your feedback -

Sarah Elsekhawy posted a topic in Gastric Plication Surgery Forum
Hi everybody I'm now 6 weeks post operation & I've a question...... Whenever I read or listen about other surgeries ,I find that people suffer when they eat too much &they vomit, but I found that this isn't the case with TGVP. A week ago,I had dinner at my friend's and I ate too much:crying: .....My stomach hurted me&I felt terrible:svengo:, but I couldn't vomit... I wish I could vomit that day coz my stomach was killing me.....Is this normal?Did anyone experience the same situation? I would appreciate any feedback... -

Hello everyone I'm really very disappointed coz the scale isn't moving for 3 weeks now I don't know what shall I do.....Is there something wrong with my surgery? Why am I not losing weight anymore?I don't exercise and I eat more than before. I don't have time to exercise coz of my work..I come home exhausted....My surgeon adviced to quit eating sweets and to try to exercise, but I'm not sure if I'd find time to do that...I need your advice I've lost 33 pounds in 11 weeks, but I really worry if this is going to be my final result. -

Sarah Elsekhawy replied to Sarah Elsekhawy's topic in Gastric Plication Surgery Forum
Hi everyone I'm so happy that we have now more and more members here in this forum. I've lost 15 kilos so far or about 33 Ib but without exercising. I'm just trying to walk more, but I'm little worried about my weight I always have that feeling that my body is going to resist weight loss ,since the third week , I've been losing 1 kilogram each week.Is this enough? Is this normal?. I'm so worried ,but I've noticed that those who had the procedure 6 or 7 weeks ago had lost the same weight..........I also have a question... Has anyone noticed that this procedure is different from other procedure coz I found that we can eat like normal people, but people who had other procedures suffer when eating certain food and even vomit. My friends who know that I had surgery wonder how I can eat everything........I'm so worried ....Is this normal or there is something wrong with my surgery .....I'm going to see my surgeon 10 days ago but I realy need support and encouragment. N.B:I'm from Egypt and this surgery isn't well known here .I'm even the only one who had it in my city. -
A question 4 Those who had TGVP...Have you ever vomitted?
Sarah Elsekhawy replied to Sarah Elsekhawy's topic in Gastric Plication Surgery Forum
No,my stomach doesn't growl a lot,but I've experienced that feeling of emptiness after I've finished the Fluid and the liquid phase but that feeling will decrease when you start to eat solid food .I remember that this feeling made me doubt the success of my surgery but it gets better by time..Good luck:thumbup: -
