August 2011 sleevers get in here!!!!!!
treequeen replied to blackmikeg's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
8/15 here. Been pretty much stuck for 3 weeks. Almost a week into mushies and have done fairly well. Did have an incident of sliming (at my cousin's wedding of all places). That was NO fun so I am making every effort to chew til my teeth hurt. I'm kind of afraid to try new things.. I do end up feeling a little yucky sometimes after I eat. I don't get any indication of fullness either...just have to wing it. I'm down only 18#s since surgery...68 all together. -
Anyone having problems with old obese friends?
treequeen replied to lunarose's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I haven't gone back to work yet, so hopefully it won't be too bad...course stopping by there to check in with payroll, i've been call slim and skinny...I still have like 100#s to lose so ..................annoying. My biggest problem is my sister..she has always been smaller..and though I'm glad my surgery has been incentive for her to lose weight, it's all a competition to her and I KNOW all hell will break loose the minute I weigh less than her. -
the family went out for breakfast and all got the buffet and I ordered applesauce..the waitress seemed confused but i said I had surgery and couldn't really eat... so she brings me a double order and then comped it.

Think before you respond and know that you DESERVE what you want and nothing less. It is soo much less scary to talk to a hot guy on line than in person so use it to your advantage. Get comfortable talking to him before you meet so you will feel more comfortable.. And remember..Confindence is Sexy. Also, if HE thought he was too good for you, he wouldn't have contacted you in the first place. Not to throw a negative in..but also be careful...there are a lot of scammers on dating sites... watch out for the ones who are working out of country or play on your sympathies with a recently passed spouse or sick child...and if thier english doesn't seem quite right... it's because they are not real.. Trust your instincts. Good luck, love yourself, be confident!

treequeen replied to Sassygirl06's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mine just ended today with a 2# loss after 9 days of nothing. -
if you have a smoothie, you have to make sure there are no chunks, seeds or skins in it.

Anyone ever lift too much early out and have problems?
treequeen posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yesterday, my 65# son had fallen (Mellodramaticly) and wanted me to help him up and of course decides that Mom is a jungle gym...So I get him off me and tell him Yet again that I'm not allowed to pick him up. So I had some random pains yesterday and today my stomach is achy and not interested in food and I have a jabbing headache.. I'm not sure if the way I feel to day is related to my moment of recklessness yesterday. Anyone have any experience lifting too much early out? -
where are you losing it?
treequeen replied to emmas mom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Losing top to bottom...Pear shaped too. So I'm gonna have a tiny head yippie. It's never too late to start taking your measurements... so you won't have the starting point (I don't either...had lost 30# b 4 I started) But it is still nice to see the progress.. especially during a stall. -
worried about not being able to take certain meds long term
treequeen replied to indecidedgirl's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
One reason I chose the sleeve was because you can still take normal meds.. like time release etc.. because the stomach still functions the same (after you heal of course) -
September 10th check in/weigh in
treequeen replied to mamamckinzie's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Right there with you Broadwaybaby. I think we have the same sleeve date.. and today is day 7 or 8 (i lost track) of my stall. So, again today I weighed in at 268 which is a 15# loss since surgery and 65#s all together. Docs on Wednesday and hopefully getting moved to mushies. It will be nice to get Some normal food in. -
Sleeved 3 weeks ago and now stalled
treequeen replied to Phil in NY's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
You will lose.. I am 3 weeks out and have had 2 stalls already one was 3 days and this one is 7 so far. But I've averaged a 5 pound a week loss. I can't complain about that... and though I haven't seen the scale move I do measure once a week and have lost inches. -
Are you eating on a schedule ...
treequeen replied to Sunny702's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved 2 days before you and have lost 15#s so you are on track with weightloss.. I have had a 3 and a 4 day stall so far. Frustrating? Yes.. Can I live with it? Yes. As far as a schedule.. I have a shake for breakfast, try to drink a bottle of crystal light..try to convince myself food is important between 12 and 1.. wait an hour, drink another bottle or two..try to convince myself to eat dinner around 6pm, wait an hour and drink some more. Some times I'll have an all juice popsicle for a snack. The hardest part is that I have No interest in food and don't feel hungry. I kinda hope it stays that way, but for this healing period, it's a pain. -
OK Mid-August sleevers, what are ya'll eating now???
treequeen replied to blackmikeg's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved the 15th also. I usually have a premier protein shake for breakfast (30g protein) for lunch and dinner I usually have one of a variety of organic vegetable and lentil or black bean soups. There is just enough liquid to make it the pancake batter consistency my doc wants. One can is 2 cups roughly after I put it through the vitamix. If I get bored I make my own soup with tofu and spinich etc. For something more desert ish, I make a fruit smoothie with flavorless protein powder. I got sick on cream of chicken so I stay away from cream soups and milk based things now. I drink several bottles of water with a 1/2 a serving of crystal light (plain water makes me feel icky and a full serving of crystal light is too sweet) -
Tired after dinner?
treequeen replied to staceybea's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
when I got moved to purees... the first 3 days or so if I ate til full I nearly immediatly went to sleep. Quite annoying. It has improved. -

1st trip to Costco ... what should i get?
treequeen replied to Sunny702's topic in Food and Nutrition
One great thing about Costco is that a lot of the products are packaged in single servings... like the frozen chicken tenerloins and salmon. Even the fresh chicken breasts are 2 per pouch. If you have a freezer you won't have waste. Yes the Premier protein shakes are the BEST. and if you go to Premiers website, they have recipes. Some costco locations also carry the premier protein bars as well. There is one turkey deli meat in the fancy deli area that is very low calorie and very tasty.. don't recall the brand but it's worth looking for. Another thing to remember about Costco is that if you purchase a product and end up not liking it, you can return what you have left. I would suggest staying away from the food court...I looked at thier nutritional fact book (they keep it behind the counter u can ask to see it)... there is nothing healthy on the menu. -
Asked the doc today about his goal for me. I was told 165 would put my BMI where they want it but most ppl my height look too thin. So I am going ahead with my initial goal for myself of 175.. Then I'll decide what I want to do.

First sleevers, how is everyone doing?
treequeen replied to Heatherr's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Surgery was 8/15... Wed I upgrade to puree (I hope). I am doing good on getting in liquids and protien... Some things like certain cream soups don't sit too well. I haven't even tried to track my calorie intake. I have been on a stall the last several days so i'm down 9#s since surgery and 59 all together. I have a tight stitch or whatever it is too.. I can't wait to be able to stretch without pain. -
I need an excuse but not a lie
treequeen replied to CoffeeBean's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I'd think that saying your stomach is aching or feeling sick wouldn't be a lie. Don't know where u live but maybe you can throw in jet lag -
Obstructed by a "bezoar", has anyone else heard of this?
treequeen replied to Vampyrvet's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Where the heck do I get one of these No No lists? My doc didn't give me anything and I'd really like to aviod having any problems. -
Right there with earthchick... I finally got one... I love it. It will liquify anything. And will help you stay on a healthy track after surgery. Definatly worth it.

Had my sleeve surgery Monday
treequeen replied to caycaye's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Congratulations! i'm a monday ahead of you.. i feel pretty good most of the time. Most liquids are sitting well most days. Biggest problem is what I think is an internal stich that is pullling. I basicly only have that one spot that causes pain. Feeling human again is great... Pretty soon you'll feel perfectly normal. -
Just For The Fun of It: Which "Diet Plans" Did You
treequeen replied to Adri's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Makes me sick to think of all the money we have wasted in all of our pursuits. But happy about all the money we save on food now! I for one am tired of the fat race and ready to live life on my terms. Congrats to everyone on your lifestyle change and getting away from the fat race diet trap. -
I had mine aug 15 First 2 days were horrid mostly because of nausea and no one told me how often I could press the button. I was pretty out of it anyway so I got told to stop pressing the button so I could stay concious. My first walk took me by suprise. I thought I would handle the pain so much better than I did. Things were much improved by day 3. I sat in the chair most of the day except for my once an hour walks. Day 4 went well too. Had pain in my left shoulder until they took the drain out. I took pain meds til day 5. I do still have some incision pain but it is totally bearable. I am getting in my liquids just fine, don't feel hungry at all, and my energy level is pretty average for me.
