    Any Horseback Riders?

i also am a rider and i feel like my horse is also loving the 120lb weight loss! i never wanted to ride when i was heavier because i felt so awful and felt bad for him, even though he is abelgian draft horse lol were both enjoying our time together a lot more now!
  2. Hi! I have Aetna and I was approved on the first try a year ago. I had to do 2 sleep studies a psych visit nutrition appointments and a few other things but it was worth it to get approved right away! i had a high bmi, and co-morbidities (pre diabetes and sleep apnea) and they told me the more things wrong with me, the easier it is to approve the surgery. I am a year out and still have yet to receive any kind of bill. Good luck to you all!
  3. you are definitely not done! i also had a stall about 3 months out that lasted a few weeks before the weight started to slip off again. it sounds like you are doing exactly what you need to be doing! The best advice I got was to pump up my weights and mix up my cardio routine. that helped me a lot! And congrats on the awesome weight loss so far, don't be discouraged we ALL go through it and think it is the end of our weight loss, and it never is!
  4. Hi! I am a little over a year out, and I will give you my facts 25 year old female, 5 ft 4 Starting Weight 310, current weight 191 sleevie can tolerate almost anything, sometimes red meat gives me a hard time and celery is too stringy. I have had no problems at all, and never feel hungry, I have to remind myself to eat. I still have about 40 pounds til goal, and the weight started coming off slower after about 6 months. My skin has no sagging, no pulling etc, and I am SO glad I made the decision to have this surgery. The worst part was the bloating and gas after surgery but I never even had to use my pain meds so it wasn't that bad. If you are considering this I would recommend it to anyone, its the best thing I have ever done for myself and has changed my whole life! The worst part is remembering i am no longer 300+ pounds, good luck to u!

    Birth Control?

i get the shot, i have PCOS which is tiny cysts all over my ovaries that caused super heavy periods and the shot makes you stop aving your period all together. I know that's not what all women are looking for but for me it's great. I have had so side effects, no weight gain, no headaches or cramps. i love it!
  7. crazy to think i have had my sleevie over a year...best decision i have ever made :)

  8. I also still suffer from the hair problem after losing 120 pounds it is super disappointing but i am dealing with it, and just glad that my periods finally balanced out and are not so heavy anymore. sending you lots of support from another sleever who understands your pain!

  10. im down 120, and dont need anything, but i am not at goal weight yet either and im 25 so i think my skin bounced back well partly because of age.
  11. the best days are always ones i am in the gym...coincidence? i think not!

  12. anyone else look in the mirror and still see your old body, even though you KNOW you're not that person anymore? weird feeling...

  13. got my maid of honor dress in, size 18 and its too big :) much better than a size 28 i was 9 months ago, and the lady said if my chest wasn't so big i would have been in a 14! darn it!

  14. sorry for some reason its not letting me post on your status update...that would be down 10 sizes!!! sizes go by 2's, so 26, 24, 22 etc etc...congrats thats a huge loss!

  15. Hi, I have heard a lot of people have to resubmit their info to insurance, as they were denied the first time. In your case it sounds like it may just be a miscommunication or maybe some pages didnt get faxed through to insurance. I would definitely resubmit! good luck and keep us posted!
  16. Hi Yun! congrats on your weight loss! I know personally for me post op, it was nearly impossible to get in all that protein. My stomach felt like every sip was too much. So i just really tried to focus on water, vitamins and as much protein as possible, which a lot of others on here also had stated. As time goes on it gets easier to ocnsume more protein. I also purchased a clear, tasteless protein powder to mix in with my water, which helped me a lot! Good luck and welcome to the losers bench

    Calories

i had a bmi of 53 to start and on average i have lost 11lbs a month but i started at 310 lbs. my surgeon said 1lb a week is actually right on target for healthy weight loss but the larger your starting # the more weight you will lose per week. sounds like you are doing perfect i agree though that if you are not getting enough nutrients and water your weight loss will slow down because your body goes into fat storage mode!
  23. 100 pounds..GONE! never thought i would make it here, especially 6 months out!

    How Many Stalls?

I had a stall about 3 months post op for 2 weeks and now at 6 months post op for about a week. They are scary and I thought for sure I must have been doing something wrong, but they always pass and then you see the numbers come down. Don't get discouraged!
