Ugh. Had left over spaghetti sauce for dinner tonight and am back in the tums bottle. It's official, me and spaghetti sauce are no longer friends!! This amazes me because I can eat super spicy foods no problem. Lynda

Need Birthday Meal Ideas
lsereno replied to Canary Diamond's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Lobster or prawns or crab. Yum! I vote for lobster. For dessert, later, ice cream if you are not lactose intolerant. Or if you want to stick to program, one of my faves: Greek yogurt with Splenda, topped with spenda sweetened blueberries. I heat the blueberries in the microwave till the juice runs out. OMG! Lynda -
Ate 1660 cals yesterday, am in full panic mode

Yes, do let us know. I'm thinking of you. Lynda -
Fiddle: Waiting to hear the results! I posted mine. Everything was good except too much Vitamin B. I take a full regimen of vitamins: 2 multis a day, a D, bunch of calcium, B12 sublingual once a week and a little less B complex (three times a week now instead of daily). Lynda

Well. I'm not a Janaury Sleever, but I do remember when I realized I was able to eat more and eat more calorie dense foods and I realized I was going to have to watch it on the Snacks. As far as Water, I often track it on a white board on my fridge door. The trick for me is to work on it all day. I can't not pay attention and then catch up later. So I start on it when I get up. Also, I drink more if it's flavored. My current fav is Lipton Diet Green Tea. I can suck down a lot of that over the afternoon. I count all fluids, including soy milk and decaf coffee. I only have one cup of regular coffee a day. Lynda

Interesting data on protein and yoyo dieting
lsereno replied to Georgia's topic in WLS Veteran's Forum
I'm with you! I'm working on an eating plan that leaves me in my new, smaller goal weight range. My previous range was too big and I was hitting the top and dieting back down. I'm closing in on that eating plan now. Lynda -
I don't follow the 5:2 plan because I've been staying at goal without it. I'm gonna hope it was mostly the spaghetti sauce. I don't eat spaghetti sauce or Pasta often so maybe that was it. Lynda

Kaiser, Has Anyone Has Plastic Surgery Through
lsereno replied to tovanta's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Yeah, they do have cash pay because I had some skin tags removed through them and it was not covered under insurance. I paid full fee. Lynda -
Interesting data on protein and yoyo dieting
lsereno replied to Georgia's topic in WLS Veteran's Forum
That is interesting. I did see a study that said yoyo dieting does not affect metabolism. Lynda -
At 16 months into maintenance. it still worries me. In the back of my mind, I think, if I can stay 5 years at goal, I will feel like I can make it the rest of my life. Why 5 years? Many people experience regain between years 3 and 6. At 5 years at goal, I will be almost 6 years out. And even cancer patients are considered good if they go 5 years with a relapse. I'm not like you. I miss sweets and other foods still. I feel like crap if I eat much of them, but I miss them anyway. And I do not want to forbid them, just limit them to a reasonable amount that allows me an occasional treat while at goal. Lynda

I prefer Chobani Fat Free Plan or Fage 0. I sweeten with splenda and sometimes add a little fruit, such as blueberries or strawberries. In the winter, I also sometimes mix with canned, unsweeetened pumpkin, a little vanilla, and some pumpkin pie spice. Lynda

The description of the Vets Forum and the qualifications for posting are in the comments at the top of the Forum when viewed from the full website. I don't think this info shows in the app versions many people use to access the site. (our sigs and blogs are also not accessible from the mobile site). Here's the text: This forum is dedicated to veteran Sleevers who are six or more months post-op, to discuss issues specific to those who are further along in their journey. You must have 100 posts in order to post here. Lynda

3x in operating room in 2004 and rejected again in 2010, NOW SLEEVED IN 2013!

Wow NY Lou! Glad you are finally on the post op losers bench. Looking forward to reading your goal post! Lynds -
And you don't feel worse, which I almost always do if I eat much crap food. So even though you may feel Ike crap, you haven't made yourself feel worse, and that counts for a lot. Someone here (forgive me but I've already forgotten who) said self soothing doesn't have to be self sabatoge. So true! Lynda

NSV...feeling yourself....
lsereno replied to gmanbat's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I don't think it was there when we were younger. At least not poking out as much. I was always thin when I was young and I had lots of bones poking out but not my sternum. After this long at goal, I don't feel my bones as much as I did. I do still tap my hip bones once in awhile to make sure I can still feel them. Lynda -
Sorry! Sometimes the only good thing to be said for a day is that it is over. Lynda

losing a few more pounds, my protein drink is acting up again
lsereno replied to CowgirlJane's topic in WLS Veteran's Forum
Try the unjury or the GNC gold Standard Whey. They are primarily whey isolate, which is better absorbed and less likely to cause issues because there is very little lactose. Lynda -
Congrats and happy Sleeveversary! You look fabulous! Goal is a very personal number for each of us. Lynda

I drink the more acidic things I enjoyed thinned with Water, usually about 50%. That's how I drink diet minute maid lemon aide now. And try Lipton diet green tea with citrus. It was one of the first flavored drinks I tolerated well. Lynda
