Where do I stop...goal weight related....

I tried a few online calculators. My body fat is between 27 and 30. I'm gonna try a bodpod soon. Sunnyvale fitness has one. Lynda

    Post op necessities

Toilet wipes. Almost everyone has diarrhea the first few days. Might want to consider unjury chicken Protein. It's the only one I could tolerate the first week after surgery. It has to be ordered online. Lynda
  9. Uh I ate straight salt from my palm more than once post op before I could eat much. Love my salt! Lynda
  10. oh where to begin. I've got two years plus on many people here. I drink with a straw all the time (but I didn't for the first few months) I had to have a come to my senses talk with myself that I can no longer drink more than two drinks in a couple of hours since I weigh a lot less than i used to. I count my caffeinated coffee toward my fluids for the day. I hate taking my Calcium and have to talk myself into it. (It doesn't fit in my pill holder so it's an extra step to count them out and take them.) If it's on the no list, I have eaten it, including celery, coconut, spicy, you name it. I ate pork rinds for months and counted the Protein until someone mentioned that the protein in pork rinds is not absorbed so it doesn't count. I had to reset my bounce range because after getting to goal I spent some time eating enough crap to sink a battleship. Lynda

    Just starting

I'm in San Jose and went thru Kaiser Fremont with Dr. Hahn in May 2011. I've been at goal of 135 for 18 months. I'm 5'6". Maybe we should try for a SJ meetup. Lauraven and zenandnow also live in the South Bay. Lynda

    Can't get my protein in

Greek yogurt has 23 grams of Protein per cup. thin with Water and add a sweetener. I like Splenda, but many people like the sugar free torini syrups. Check online for Protein powder samples and try a few. I did well with unjury chicken protein at first. Lynda
  13. I have seen some here that use long sleeved compression garments. Not all tops have snug sleeves either. Try sleeves with a little bell, cap sleeves that are cut loose, or sleeveless under a stretchy sweater. Maybe that's why those tops were on the clearance rack! And you look fabulous! Phooey on those crappy tops. I still remember being excited to try bras and swimsuits and then feeling really ugly after none fit right. Stupid stores! Lynda

    Post Prandial Ghrelin Response

Thanks! This info fits with my anecdotal evidence. If I eat enough Protein and calories earlier in the day, I don't get the bad after dinner cravings. Like many others, once I go down the sweet/carb road, it's hard to turn back. Lynda

Where do I stop...goal weight related....

Here's the solution for me: more healthy fats and carbs, and the occasional treat. Lynda

    Can't stop losing!

What's a typical day of food look like for you? I agree a nutritionist will be able to help you adjust your eating plan. For me, I added a few treats and some heathy fats and that did the trick. My challenge is finding the sweet spot between gaining and losing. I set my bounce range small to help control that issue. Under 133, I eat more. Close to 137, I eat less. Lynda

Where do I stop...goal weight related....

I set my goal weight at 135 and I'm 5'6". I am small chested and small boned. I am very happy at my goal weight. Goal weight is very personal. Once you hit overweight BMI, the health differences between normal BMI are minimal. For me, the last 10 lbs were vanity lbs. I like the way I look at this weight and I am able to maintain this weight and still have a few treats here and there. Lynda

    Apple Yogurt Parfait

Apple season is here and the weather is a little cooler. We went to Watsonville (home of Martinellis Sparkling Cider and juice) and bought Newton Pippins.i wanted apple crisp with ice cream, but made this heathy substitute instead. Peel, core, and slice two small apples. In a fry pan with lid, Stir together 1 Tbsp. sugar free apricot jelly, 1/4 cup Splenda, and 1/2 cup Water. Add the apple slices and a dash of cinnamon and heat to boiling. Cover and simmer it for about 5 minutes or apples are soft, then uncover and cook down the sauce. Mix 1 cup Greek yogurt with Splenda to taste. Optionally add 1 tsp honey for flavor. Put 1/2 cup Special K Cereal in a Baggie and crush to coarse crumbs. Divide yogurt into two bowls, top with apples and cereal. Yum!

    Way behind the 8 ball

I am! Looking forward to a cup of tea with Splenda and something healthy to go with. Maybe 1/2 apple.

    Way behind the 8 ball

Here's the article: http://www.forbes.co...dont-vs-i-cant/ And, based on that: I don't eat crap food on a regular basis I don't skip exercise I don't skip weighing myself in the morning Lynda

    Way behind the 8 ball

Yeah sometimes I break it down by meal, not even by day. I think of it like when I quit smoking. So hard and totally consuming at first, then gets a little easier with time, but it's always there. I like to kid and say you'll know if I have a terminal disease that I think is going to take me out quick, because I'll be smoking again! Now I can say and eating like crap :-) I read something interesting earlier today about how to succeed in making changes. It's the difference between saying "I can't do" vs. "I don't do". This simple change in thinking/saying helped people succeed. Every one is in here and needs me so I will post the link later. Lynda

    Negative comments...

Just stick with a stock answer. Mine was "my doctor and I have decided this is the best option for me." If they continue on after that, said "I understand your concern, but I have made my decision." Lynda
