    I need help, feeling unsuccessful!

I recommend looking at some of the post guides and using the diet plans in one of them. Here are some links to guides that I have saved from this forum over the years: The Cornell Weight Loss Surgery Program: Dietary Guidelines for Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy http://www.cornellweightlosssurgery.org/pdf/dietary_guidelines_sleeve_gastrectomy.pdf Institute for Advanced Bariatric Surgery: Preparatory Surgery Guide http://www.laplose.com/Media/Forms/PreparatorySurgeryGuide.pdf Institute for Advanced Bariatric Surgery: Sleeve Gastrectomy Surgery Diet Guide http://www.laplose.com/Media/Forms/SleeveDietGuide.pdf Northwest Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery: Laproscopic Gastric Sleeve Diet http://www.northwestobesitysurgery.com/pdf/sleeve-gastrectomy-diet.pdf Kaiser Fremont Bariatric Program Guide (this is my program's guide and it covers VSG and other WLS) http://mydoctor.kaiserpermanente.org/ncal/facilities/region/gsaa/area_master/departments/Bariatrics/binder.jsp Not sure this will work, but if it does, the first link is an guide from Dr. Criangle and the second is the Cornell guide, which I've also provided a weblink for above.

    Feeling dehrydrated and alone....

My only advice is to make your health your priority. First is to drink enough fluids, if you want them or not. Second is to get enough Protein and third, to get a healthy amount of calories. I recommend using a meal plan and a schedule to accomplish that. Map out what you will eat at each meal/snack and schedule fluids. For example, 8 am : I cup fluids 9 am Protein Drink with at least 24 grams protein 10:30 1 cup fluids 11:30 am 2 oz protein with 2 teaspoons healthy oil and 1/4 cup whole grain 12:30 1 cup whole fat milk 2 pm 1 cup fluids 3:30 pm 1/4 avocado, I oz full fat cheese, whole grain crackers 5 pm 1 cup fluids 6 pm 2 oz protein with 2 teaspoons healthy oil and 1/4 cup whole grain 8 pm protein drink with at least 24 grams protein 9:30 pm 1 cup fluids This gets you 64 oz fluids, more than 70 grams protein and a decent amount of calories. Eat and drink if you are hungry or not.
  3. And for me: Take my photo! Look I fit in (chair, isle, narrow space, etc.)!, I'm full, do you want the rest of (almost anything)?, Look at me in this outfit!, Lynda
  4. I can't vote in poll from ipad. Hair loss began at 4 months and regrowth began around 1 year. Took several months for hair to be full to the ends again because it's below my shoulders. Its just as thick as ever now. Lynda

    Not eating much..

Early out I used two Protein drinks per day to get enough protein in. One for Breakfast, then a couple ounces of protein at lunch and dinner, and one before bed. Greek yogurt is a great protein source too. Lynda

An "Almost" Chocolate Chip Cookie Moment

Man I do! I have several talking points I use with myself: There are a lot of these in the world. I don't have to have this now. It will be there later. If I eat this I will want more and it will be hard to stop. I can have X instead. I will feel bad after I eat this ( mostly dairy, such as creamy Desserts or foods with a lot of grease). I like myself at this size and I want to stay here. Lynda

Congrats! And you look fabulous in that dress. Lynda
  11. I'm waiting for this documentary to air on PBS Independent Lens series. It's scheduled for Spring 2014, but the exact date has not been announced yet. http://www.allofmemovie.com/ I've heard mean comments from a few people, but I didn't do this for them, so it's Water off by back. Lynda
  12. My husband only came with me on surgery day. He was very supportive but I filled him in on details so he didn't need to attend other apps. My mom was apprehensive about the surgery, so I took her to a pre op appt so she could meet my surgeon and ask questions. Lynda

    Left scapula issue

Hi Fiddle, If I had full range and no pain, then I would skip PT. Anything less, then it might help get to 100%. I had to relearn how to stand, walk, and hold my arms after losing weight. After years of learning postures and stances that accommodate 100+ extra lbs it took conscious effort to change them. Also took awhile to learn where I could fit, that it's now easy to bend over, and that I can tuck in my shirt and wear a belt if my outfit looks better that way. Lynda
  14. Best wishes for an uneventful surgery and speedy recovery Jane. I'll be thinking of you. Lynda

    Leasons Learned

Greasy foods and anything breads hurt my tummy at first. When family wanted pizza, I had quick food for myself. lunch meat wrapped around string cheese, canned low fat chili, or some rotisserie chicken. Lynda

My mother in law died this am....

I'm so sorry for your loss. Watch your Protein and fluids. You'll feel better if you aren't sick. I will be thinking of you. Lynda
  19. I weigh every day, first thing when I get up, and I adjust how I eat for the day based on what I see. During weight loss, I only recorded my weight on Fridays. Lynda
  20. I have a big project every year or every few years if it takes longer. Typically I start in Spring. It keeps me busy through career changes, new homes, remodels, weight loss, workout regimes, move into retirement, etc. Now that I'm retired, in my forever home (or planned forever home), at goal, in a steady workout pattern, and house is in good shape, I am looking for my new project this coming spring. WLS took a couple of years between getting ready, getting to goal, and becoming comfortable with maintenance. Lynda
  21. Sorry! I didn't see the group it was posted in. I've been married 33 years this spring so I know how to give a man his space :-) Lynda
