    February 2007 bandsters!

I am having the same issues today. It hurts to take deep breaths and I get winded easily. Everyone says this will subside.

    February 2007 bandsters!

Had my surgery on 2/26. The anestesia gave me a terrible headache. I felt decent yesterday...Only mild gas pain. Last night was the worst. I was dry-heaving at 3:00 in the morning...I could feel the stitches holding my band to my stomach. OUCH!!! The only thing that seemed to help with the nausia was keeping cold wet rags on my head. Today I started with shakes. I am having really bad gas pains...feels like I need to burp, but I can't. I hope tomorrrow is better!

    February 2007 bandsters!

Hello, I am scheduled for February 26. Please sign me up. Thanks
  6. Time2live, Your post and many others on this site having me questioning this procedure for myself. It seems like a lot of people are struggling to diet and are not losing weight. I would think that your extremely low calorie consumption would cause the pounds to fall off quickly. Good luck with your weight loss.

    I'm giving up ...

You should do some more research into this plan. I bet this is a catastrophic policy with a high deductible. It could cover the majority of the procedure.
  8. Thanks for the quick replies. I'm not going to let the nutritionist steam-roll me into a plan that I don't think I will follow long term. I will ask for several options.
  9. Hello everyone, I had my initial consultation a week and a half ago and I am already scheduled for the procedure at the end of February. I can't believe how fast everything is going. So far everyone I have met with is recomending that I follow the South Beach diet for life after the procedure. This came from my Primary doc, the surgeon, and the psych doc. All three mentioned that it allows for fruits, where the Atkins does not. I have not yet met with the nutritionist, but I am sure he will recomend the same thing since he is connected with the surgeon. My question is this - I thought the point of the band to make me feel full on smaller portions. Why do I need to follow a low carb diet? I have already tried Atkins 5 times and failed. I will definately address this with the nutritionist next week, but I was hoping to get your feeback. Thanks!!
