Those Recently Banded: Whats Ur First Short Term Goal?
mmv671 replied to sylviau's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My short term goal is to be 167. Was 173 this morning. Then 160 and finally 147. -
I actually just had some for dinner. I eat them all the time. Soft stage for me.

Has anyone had a complete unfill and then a full all in the same day?

What are your goals for the week? Mine are: 1. 1000 calories or less 2. Exercise 6 days. 3. 64 ounces of water 4. No candy

It kind of depends on how much weight you still have to lose. Not sure if you're self pay. Insurance usually has guidelines. I had mine in November. I love it. I wasn't at goal about 20 lbs away. Good luck.

I go to the endo in two weeks. Hopefully she will help me out. I'm fairly versed in changing my Basel rates but lately nothing I do seems to work. Kind of like hitting that sweet spot with your band.

Is there anyone out there with diabetes and the lap band? If so I have some questions.

What Age Were You When You Got The Lap Band Surgery?
mmv671 replied to MsFab1988's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I was 34 when I was banded in 2010. -
I use the fit bit which works in the same way. (less expensive) they are great motivational tools. I'm all for anything that keeps us aware I our journey.

I'm starting phase 1 tomorrow. I have done a whole round. Just think how far you have come. It's no easy task. You got this.

I was just wondering people's experience with low blood sugar. I'm on an insulin pump and it seems that I'm correcting low blood sugar at least once a day. That mean 60 extra calories. It's never the same time of day so I cant really change my insulin. I also just wanted to know how your experience was with your diabetes after being banded.

170 for me.

My dr said it only exists at extremely low calories. 300-500 for six weeks or more. I was just curious what othere opinion was in this.

Have an appointment for a fill in 2 weeks. Not sure if he will give me one but I was hoping he might give me a tiney tiny one. Do you know what the lowest is? Also how full can you go? Of coarse I will ask my surgeon these questions. Just wondering others experienced. I have about 8.5 in a 10cc band. (lap band not realize). Just need this last 20-25 pounds gone. I don't want to get overfilled of coarse. Right now I have minimal restriction. I can eat low calories get all my protein in. I eat all proteins except eggs. I don't eat bread often once I awhile I have rasin bread. Anyway please share your fill experiences.

There's a 10 day busters diet. If I can find it I will post it.

I have been constipated for a week and a half. I went to the dr because nothing was helping and the cramps were unbearable. Come to find out I have an intestinal infection. IV antibiotics and liquid diet for me. And a cleanse which hasn't been pleasant.

Thanks. I'm feeling much better today. Hooefully I continue to get better.

Having the pump doesn't necessarily make you gain weight. Insulin is a hormone so the more you take can cause you to gain weight. People gain weight because they start eating what they want because of the added freedom. If you stuck to low carbs you will need less insulin. I have type 1 diabetes and I have been on the pump for 13 years. I usually gain weight when the amount of insulin I take goes up. It wouldn't matter if it was my pump or a shot it does the same thing.
-
Unfortunately I will always have diabetes because I have type 1. My pancreas will never make insulin. I have had diabetes since I was 10.

This is what I have for my diabetes. Not sure I want to tattoo lap band on me.

Sorry for the typos. What I meant to say I was curious of others opinions on this.
