    Deciding to Speak Openly

Good luck as you are nearing to start the next part of your journey. I too worry about the expense. July 11 I start the actual 1st appt with the surgeon and then I only have to to comply 3 months per my insurance. I just hope to get done by DEC 31, as the insurance companies keep changing. I see 2010 there was no wait period bla bla, but God is good, and all for a good reason, I feel much much better this year compared to 2010. Keep us posted, it is great motivation. I am going to attend the support group as Tampanians are like - ZIP- been on 2 blogs and tthey are hiding someplace, maybe they also had thier lips sealed shut? I do not know, but I cant' find any near me. Be nice to excersize or compare notes,, Oh well Maybe at the support group? Take care

    FEPBLUE FL Basic

I guess I don't need to worry, My Dr does not accept carecredit, I do not know why, but they said they never turned anyone down for $ so I think they have a payment plan themselves. I have my next appt july 11, so that will be my official start of my 3 mo medically supervised diet plan, I guess I will know more then , I just did not want to get excited and find out its wayyyy more than what I can afford. I live alone, and its on all me. 3 months is 6 paychecks, 8 at most, not much time to prepare-
  3. that is FAB! I have 3 mo to go...

    Hospitil costs

I am on my way to completeing my 3 month insurance requirements, Did anyone call the hospital to see how much was out of pocket with lap band and insurance? they are the wiggliest people to get an answer from. It's like buying a car, we start here- sticker price unless,,,,,then the costs go up. I can handle, the complications, but can we get a base price? 1700 to 25 Gs is more than I can handle. insurance folks are worse,,, boy!

    Let's be realistic, folks~

HEAR HEAR, the lesson- it is hard work, diligence and daily death to self, and it wants. I will NOT look at others to determine how I should look or Be, but I do want to hear of every ones experiences so I am very grateful for blogs, They have saved my life, with some meds I was taking and getting bad side affects, and only because some one blogged it, I then could understand it was the meds! Love you all for sharing. Keeping my expectations in tune with my limitations, but always pressing forward.

    I pay 20% :/

i hear it's important to see how your drs and hospt code thier claims, out- patient in -patient et etc and if they are providers- what will they accept, and what is the allowed amount, by the ins co.I have to pay 30% of the allowed amount for the band.. can i bring my own ??lol.. i have to I applied for carecredit on line and already have $ available prior to my surgery, and i am shopping around cause- like gas stations they are NOT the same. negotiations are possible too. i have checked 3 surgeons, admin fees where 1000, 700 and 500, I found one with NO fees, so im going there tomorrow,

    Losing without working out

Wiggle while you work,,, stretch, dance from one room to another, park far away from destination, do steps instead of elevator- in bed excersize you legs, stomach arms just a few extra min a day. it helps

    LEG DOPPLER /H Pylori

I m thinking i may have to do it again as I had it b-4, it gives you ulcers and to fix it is a rough regimen of antibiotics, gave me serious diarreah. its a simple breath test. yu blow into a baggie. better to get thngs fixed before than after
  13. you can help pay for some of your expense by taking your better clothes to a cosignment store, here you can sell you nice stuff for some money, as you must replace your clothe anyhow. It is not much, but I shop at these places for a good suit and I will be taking them back LOL! The rest -the shelters or a house -fire victims or womens shelters, many times these gals leave home with very little- A lot of my old clothes are in Haiti, from the earthquque. Lots of need out there!
  14. I do not kow as I am not there yet, BUT they want your liver to be soft and pliable to move it out of the way, you must stop all alcohol as it produces the liver to become stiff,, this is a major life change, be weeks before you can drink again.

    BCBS Fed

    BCBS Fed

does the ins pay for the dietician, psych eval, and 3 mo doctor monitored weightloss plan?
  17. Grider

    What a Crock!

If i am reading correctly you are getting referrals? i was told 5 times, if a DR is on the providers list -no referral is needed. I am just starting here, and thought the surgeon sets all those folks up?? one thing is for sure, i will make sure all these drs etc are linked somehow. what a mess, makes you wanna eat a whole pie! I also saw dieticians are NOT covered if they are not diabetes sessions?they make it hard dont they?
  18. i don't understand blogs at times, anyhow if you don't mind sharing your experience with me as we both have fl fepblue, i have questions best answered by some one whose got the same coverage. and by the way CONGRATULATIONS!

  19. Grider

    APPROVED!!

I am w FEPblue fla, how much was out of pocket? if I may ask. I am wondering about the 30% of the items like the band itself.. did you go out-patient?
  20. WOW I have been asking these questions for 3 days of all the forums etc. This kinda news would devestate me financially,, (govt employee)- lol, no I am just a GS-7 so seriously. I think I am going to be the biggest pain in the butt with asking 1000 question of every one, you would think by now everybody have this down to a science! I have fepblue florida, just starting -the INS book let is NOT very imformatived NO one here said anything about the 3 months of medical wight loss program, t the bloggers all say 6 months? I have FEPblue florida, just starting but when I called, the gal started reading out of the booklet,,, I can do that!! I wanted clarification. One good thing is my surgeons office is by a military base, so I think they have some prior knowledge of how to work with FEPBLUE. GOOD luck in sorting this all out, hope you lose weight over it! but NOT your health and peace of mind.
