How much do you worry about the complications?
Grider replied to spoiltmom's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I take a heavy risk riding a major highway,,, get a surgeon with good credentials, all those societies, etc.. be in the best shape possible and think positive! -
make one letter- send everyone a copy and ask for encouragement and thank you very much, the good thing is all news good or bad gets OLD in 30 days :Deverybody be on the next flavor of the day.

easy on the juices,,, they kill teeth enamel

I am confused- at the seminar they mentioned no coffee due to errosion of the band... I am a double expresso for mornings and thought I would have to give it up once banded,

Welcome. and yes, many questions and write them down. I see my surgeon July 11 and with my insurance it is a 3 mo wait with the medically supervised diet,,, I pray to be done in 2011, I am working on my mind to be ready. right now I am eating what I love, paella etc cause, come july - the diet and excersize start. I hope all goes fabulously for you- and keep posting.. alot of posts on here are old, but very informative, good luck!!! -
hows it going? i too am fepblue so wondering how it all went? Hope you had your band put in!

Would yoou change how you feel about him if he changed, if got fat skinny went to war and lost a leg- this is all outward, love is inside unconditional, but for us to really love another, we want te best for them. to be healthy- happy fullilled, and satisfied we have done our best. time to get our eyes off looks and look deeper into our hearts

It is about the "walk" not the pound, a meal or even the band. It is about a life change, a project , a goal and for some a purpose. We are similar yet different, joined but separate, understanding and struggling, but all with the same aspirations, to make this life more enjoyble. to crush our fears of the future of sickness or immobiity or lonliness. let us encourage and lift each other spirits- pick up our doubts and cast them out, for we are all on the same road. and I am so happy to be a part of of our journey!

I havent had this surgery but a colonoscopy and it is day 5 and finally feel like me again,,,, anesthesia is also a culprit for the bad feelings and pain meds combined w gas pains, and surgery,,,,your body has alot to deal with. long as you are not fainting, bleeding throwing up etc i think some of us just not as tolerant as others,

each state has laws I think orig request is 30 days, but make sure nothing was lost bla bla talk to your coordinator at the surgeons after 10 days

Hi -I picked Dr. Aguila- see there is a support group meeting June 30, 2011? I will be going, hope to meet some of you. Tampa Bay is so quiet! Starting my 3 mo journey July 11, so I pray I will be banded before xmas! Good luck everyone -
I am considering LAP-BAND? at Tampa General Hospital
Grider replied to Beba's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well Found Dr Aguila Memorial Hospital Tampa, no admin fees and my Ins covers most of it.. On my way! -
My ins said I pay 30% of the allowed amount of the band thingy,,, $150 dr and $75 hospt out patient, but you know there is a fee for the thermometer and the washing of your open gown and the pain meds, not to mention the suture string- , but i was told they have payment plans and none has ever NOT gotten done. Thats good to know. I am walking by faith, it will all work out.

I thought that was to make the liver soft and pliable? maybe you are a softy! Good luck and congrats!!

She probably is jealous, Don't sweat the small stuff, keep your eye on your goal. but I am thinking that people on diets including us, probably be 'emotionally off" I am thinking if I cant have my comfort foods I might be crappy for a while I dont know, but we have always said that around here- on a diet, or stopped smoking... expect melt downs> anyone else think this way?

I am in Fl w FEPBLUE ins and previous posts for 2008 every body was getting done. Anyone with newer info? I am going next thurday to the seminar. if I can afford it, and they approve it its a new life!

I am in only 4 yrs gs-7 and long story short, death of my son etc etc no extra money. Just starting to rebuid back my life so getting this surgery would be amazing. To get my body back in shape to do things again, feel better, and look better be like a new me. Been through the fire and came out as pure gold-- but gold is heavy isnt it? I think even if I have to take a P/T job after, be worth it.

I see you mention the "center of excellence"center, i have two near my home but I was told by ins co i can go to any one on the preferred list,, Does your ins limit you to these centers? -
Tampa Bay June 2011 my ins wont cover the drs the surgeon suggested, anyone KNOW any psy drs in the area who handle the weight loss surgery issue>?
